I don't know why (or if anyone else has experienced this), but lately I've been having trouble uploading my grabpics to LTS , when I select my images to be attached and i'm done with my post and click on post and that's it done, but now it says that there's a server error and cannot publish my post in my thread. Oh, and when i try to post again it then says that I have already made that post, when in fact i have not, cause I can't. Hopefully either Dag or Simpreal can resolve the problem or bug!

An Error Has Occurred! Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information.

I know of this error since some time, it has been already been brought to my attention. Sadly though, as much as i searched and scuffled through the admin panel, i cant find the reason why The sizes allwed seem to be correct and i tried rising the size limit for the folder where the attachments are stored, but it didn't work. What Steven4554 says is correct, there's the "double bug" that when trying to post it again, it says that it has already been made. I'm trying to document myself on this in the free time and i hope i'll be able to resolve the prob or that dagdamor will be back soon to help... Or maybe, Gazmanafc, have you got any suggestion?

Hmm.... well, I cant think of anything that would cause it, but I cant diagnose it without looking at the setup.

I'm facing a problem as well unfortunately... I tried posting a video as an attachment and it gave me the same message - it "loaded" for some time and then told me that the server had timed out. I'm sure that the attachment is the correct file format and isn't too big though.

SimpReal Gazmanafc Never mind, I'm a computer noob. Unfortunately the files are too big - so I'll have to find some other way to post them here.

I am also using IE8 on Windows 7 RTM, and it may be on my end, so i will switch to Firefox to see if that helps! Update - It's not a forum problem, as it all works fine under Firefox, so it is an IE bug yet again! I will be using firefox as my main browser from now on.

It works fine for me with Firefox 3.5 & Windows Seven RTM. PS: This post is a test with Windows Seven & IE8Update: There is definitively a bug with IE8: the picture is submitted correctly but I can't see it with IE8 and I can with Firefox. The weird thing is that I can see the picture uploaded by Marco even if I use IE8

Ok, it tried it again with both IE8 and FF3.5. Apparently, IE8 can't handle the PNG files, but it works fine for JPG. I also notice the stuttery scrolling in IE8 now. In FF3.5, both files are displayed. For some weird reason, the PNG file isn't displayed as thumbnail though, but as fullsize pic, so there seems to be some bug indeed.

AndreasYou're right: in your post above, the JPEG file is displayed and the PNG file is not (in IE8) on my computer. Another good reason to use something else I guess

No, I don't think it's related to IE8, as FF3.5 doesn't display a thumbnail, but the fullsize pic. I tried to upload both pics to another SMF forum, and it works fine there in IE8 as well. Looks like there's something wrong with this SMF installation...
EDIT: It appears that the forum isn't creating a thumbnail for PNG files at all - maybe Firefox is "smart" enough to use the fullsize version instead. Try using JPG for the time being, maybe this has something to do with the server configuration (there might be no server software for resizing PNG files), which only Serge can fix.

IE 7 : PNG dosent display, and opens in IrfanView. - JPG display tumbnail, and opens in browser.
