Well, one thread on this forum gave me a lot to think about.
It´s about our little star in life - Lisa Simpson!

Do we giving here (even if she is imaginary) the respect she deserves? As mighty as we are with the power of our imagination, what are the limits for us... no better: What are the boarders for us? In fact, we can "see" into her whole life if we want to.

What things are the facts you never want to see, hear, read and know about? Lets list something together...

I for myselfe want to never see Lisa being deflowered by her first boyfriend... something that just belongs to her and is her privacy and one of the (sometimes) most intimate moments of a everybodys life! Something nobody should be able to gaze on or have any notice about.

what I don't wanna know about her is what she doesn't want me to know

Maléfix: Hey, where are you going? I thought we'd -
Lisa: Why do you always wanna know what I do?
Cargo: I told you she's annoyed.
Maléfix: No, that's not how I meant it. Hey?!
Lisa slams the door

Tough question. The more I know about Lisa, the more happy I am. Wink
But maybe about her becoming a vegan in one of the latest episodes. Being vegetarian is alright (I am the one myself), but converting to a vegan can be dangerous for a kid, in all meanings. She's going even further away from other kids with this decision, and her new diet may be very unhealthy. I hope she'll reconsider after some time and come back to good old "say no to meat and fish" state. Smile

I don't want to see the writers tie her down in a monogamus relationship. With rumors about Colin (a cookie cutter character if I ever saw one.) becoming a regular, wasn't it discussed during one of the commentaries exactly why they can't do that? Eight is a bit young...

Yep, Yeardley said that they took every boyfriend away and then Matt (or was it someone else?) explained this.
Oh look, it's my favorite pig!

That is quiet interisting. And you have a good point with Lisa becoming a vegan. But really, is this a private information of Lisa? Not really, it was an official episode. Smile
But as I understand you - you wish that you never have heard about it? Is it that, what you mean?

I must have missed the 'vegan' episode. That may be a step too far...

I dated a vegan once and haven't been comfortable around one since.

I wish it didn't happen - as I explained above, I don't like this decision of script-writers. I prefer Lisa being good old vegetarian. But you're right too - the only way for me to never hear/know about Lisa's turn to vegan is that to never happen, right? Wink

Well, I was thinking more of facts that (could have) happend and that are more Lisas privat situations or secrets. Wink

Any more suggestions?

Most of the members are happy about Lisa the way she is, so this thread is unlikely to get many replies Wink
I don't want to be nitpicky at her, but if you want... nah, I just don't know what to post here. Big Grin
Better create a topic titled "Things you wouldn't like Lisa to know about you", it will get much more comments...

yeah daggy, but how many people would post some of their personal secrets on a web forum Wink. as far as this topic goes, I really don't know what to say... I don't quite get it I guess. maybe my brain is just fried from reading over 400 pages of text about basic electrical systems manuals in the last 3 days.

Hehe, good thinking, although I'd consider both sides as "private" enough so I wouldn't mention any of those. Thinks like the initial example that was given are indeed very private, and only the people that are involved should know about. If there are things that I would want to hide from Lisa, I'd hide them from you guys as well. Wink

Well, pointing at your own faults is still better than pointing at Lisa's. While we are here and always can defend ourselves, she's all defenseless before our accusations...
Besides, things that you wouldn't like Lisa to know about you, aren't necessary the same things you wouldn't like others to know. For example, I doubt I would ever dare to tell Lisa about the picture with her I have on the wall above my sofa. But everyone else knows that already Big Grin

"That guy" was Hugh Parkfield, the episode was "Lisa's Wedding", and who knows, he could be a good husband for Lisa. Better than any of Cletus' sons indeed :/ They had a fight - so what? They loved each other, it was more important...

Still, there is nothing I would be ashamed of showing in fron of Lisa or letting her know about.  Smile

What the hell? Such a snob is not the right person for Lisa Simpson at all. He was selfish and arrogant... really, in the case she will have taken (tempus future II Big Grin ) his hand in marriage, I would never have dreamed about being a Lisa-fan.
There is a better man for Lisa.

btw... what´s with that Cleatus´ sons thing...? Is there actually an episode with a realationship to  Lisa??? If yes, I missed it.

No, no, I don't remember such either Big Grin I just used him as an example. It wasn't accidental that Hugh was from outside Springfield, was even from another continent - there are no people who could be a decent boyfriend/husband for Lisa in Springfield. Only episodic characters like Thelonious or Colin, who appear once and then disappear because they are not funny. :/

You're not right, Hugh could be a nice couple for Lisa. He acted like a snob only in the last scene. Remember how he acted during the rest of the episode.

Yeah... how he acted...

Well, actually you cannot see much of how he acts while they where in London - no real life situations there. I judge him from how he acted while living in Springfield.

He cried because of a burning flag of GreatBritania - He was frightened of the thought that Lisas family could squatting in a ditch poking berries up their noses - he went with Bart and Homer to a pornographic magazine warehouse and hid in the dumpster (like he > have to < adapt to Homer and Bart) - He think it is stupid wearing Homers pig-cufflinks - he wants Lisa to leave her family for ever and never let her see them again - he also seem to be determinant whether they are getting children or not.

This guy is a bitch of a man. Wink

Yeah, stick a fork in him and see if he bleeds. Tongue

He was a student, and probably just needed to grow up a little. However, too little too late... or was it too much too soon? I doubt they knew each other as well as they should before they proposed. That said, such a rich upper class gentleman would call 'test driving' a relationship would be too proletariat, and since divorce is looked down upon... he was never going to win.  Rolls Eyes

I didn't like Hugh mainly because I found him really snobbish and full of himself (and selfish in the way he asked Lisa to just abandon her family) - if he can't accept her families faults and foibles, then he doesn't deserve her
