Expect the unexpected...

« on: July 10, 2008, 03:15 »

Firstly, where might I find a copy of the album 'The Simpsons Sing the Blues'? As I am dying to hear Lisa's 'God Bless the Children'.

Secondly, when the heck is season 11 coming out? I know the writers' strike probably slowed things but come on!

Hello Chaos! The album was uploaded somewhere, but I don't remember if I posted the links here yet.
Check this topic - www.lisa-simpson.net/topic/306.0 - I will copy the links there right now. Smile

The Eleventh Season is going out on DVDs this autumn; I don't know exact date.

On the other hand... how could somebody want this season on DVD - and even pay money for that? Pardon my manner... but this season was awful - and to say, there where horribly episodes in it...

Blasphemy! Little Big Mom was in that season. Big Grin
Also, IIRC, Behind The Laugher is also from 11th season, and Bart to the Future, too.
For these three episodes only I'd buy the season without doubts!

Season 11 was bad, I'll admit. But 12 was worse.

Right, right, I forgot that your words are so true so you don't need any arguments to prove them Wink
I was getting pleasure from the oldest seasons, I keep getting it from recent ones too. Not all episodes, of course - but many of them. You haven't watched "Girls just want to have sums"? It's your problem then, since you missed a great episode. Etc Smile

Of course each Season does have it's moments, but the more bad episodes, the worse it brings down the entire season. In my book Season 12 had probably only three good episodes in it, those being Treehouse of Horror XI, Trilogy of Error and Simpsons Tall Tales.

Still, I'm a completest so I'll get Season 12's DVD. But I'll probably attach a piece of paper saying "WORST. SEASON. EVAR" Tongue

Trust me, funny stopped around season 7.
I dunno, Season 8 and 9 still had their good moments. Tongue

Generally, I agree that the best stuff was from the earlier seasons. Gazmanafc beat me to the punch about being a completist. I have to own them all plus listen to all of the commentaries, ect.

Also, in regards to the Blues CD, after fiddling for hours I couldn't get those to work right... any suggestions on where I might find the actual CD?

That's the reason to have them too; but another one is just to virtually say thanks to the show creators for their work by buying DVD stuff. Some people think that if the acorns became a bit worse, they can dig the oak's roots, but I think we should be still grateful to the Simpsons' makers. Even if there is a single decent episode in the season. But there's much more...

You mean, the links I provided don't work for you? I can send one track to your email, although it should work alright...

Well the issue seems to be that my PSP reads the files as 1KB corrupted files. E-mail may work, perhaps we could try that.

I must do another radio show some time. I was planning on making a show with some of the best tracks listed in the Lyrics & Instrumental thread. I would definately add a couple of the tracks in from Simpsons Sing The Blues. MOST definately the Lisa ones.

Just need to get my rear end off this chair and organise something. All the hardware is back together so I should have no excuse to get back into the studio again.

I'll give you that season 8 and 9 had their good moments... and the BBQ episode from season 10 was a classic, but afterwards it seemed like their plot lines bordered on farcical. I know it's a cartoon, but come on.

I don't know, maybe my sense of humor is becoming drier, but I've watched a few recent episodes and they just don't do anything for me. My favorite season would have to be 5, after that it seemed like they began a slow but steady decline that lasted another five. I can't say I've seen many episodes past 10, but I'm just giving you my opinion based on the episodes I have seen.

Hmmm, unless your PSP has troubles with downloading large files, that's obviously an anti-leech protection in action... weird. And I can't just disable it, because the server I'm using for keeping music in, will be torn by pieces by leechers. Sad

I can only ask someone with fast internet connection to download the "sing The Blues" album from my server and temporarily reupload it somewhere else where Chaos will be able to download it.

Minus the whole downloading from your server part: http://babysimpson.co.uk/staff/gary/blues
