Though I already gave my welcome back in the Lisa Marie Simpson thread, I'll make it official here and say, once again, we're certainly glad to have you. You seem like a very interesting person and I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. Feel free to add me on any chat programs you may have as well, I'm always open to talking to more people.

An admirable habit. I would certainly welcome a chance for intellectual discussion that life at a factory simply cannot yield.

Lets start right on and: In any case, its good to be here and I look forward to chatting with some like-minded individuals! "Like-minded?" You mean, with the same kind of thoughts? Well, how can you know? Everybody on this message board could be a potential killer...

Ah, the old 'hide in plain sight' approach to things, eh Cargo? Just kidding big guy. I only intended to imply that it appears most people here display decent levels of reasoning and intelligence. Dagdamor, I mentioned elsewhere how glad I am to meet people from around the world. So, greetings all around!

It's understandable with your busy schedule. I hope to be fairly visible as a contributing member and am, in fact, working on my first fic.

CalculatedChaos Sounds great, I can already see that by your consistent presence here and contribution to discussions (not to mention a firm grasp of the English language, something I admire and welcome in a poster), you'll be an established active member in no time.
In a way actually, you remind me of myself when I first came here - touched by Lisa in your life, and exceedingly grateful to have found a place of such intelligent and mature discussion.

I was sitting here brainstorming for it before bed when I realized I haven't actually read any of the fanfics here! In some ways this is a good thing as I won't be influenced and thus fall into another writer's style or implied message/idea. On the other hand I risk going in blind and doing it anyways, inadvertantly exposing myself as just another run-of-mill 'pack writer'!

CalculatedChaosHeh, don't worry, even if you read ALL fanfics posted here, the risk of showing yourself a "pack writer" still remains Dunno. Can you write good or bad, depends on how much different books you've read in the past, how deep your imagination and how good your English are. And would your story be interesting or not, depends on the characterization, and that depends on how well your know the show itself. I'd say write the story anyway, who knows, maybe it will turn into writing masterpiece. In any case, you'll get experience.

Thanks for the advice, Dag. I consider myself well read and keep an open mind to new topics. In fact some of my favorite books by famous writers are their lesser-known works. Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus by Orson Scott Card is an apt example, imho.

good to see someone eager to take on a story i tried posting one once, failed miserably. Dont think mine went down that well. No matter on the skill level though its always worth trying something. Look forward to your story The only thing you need to be aware of is that a lot of ppl do not read fanfics so response in that section seems to be slower than in other areas of this board.

The knowledge that I can actually carry through on a commitment will make it all worthwhile. Though some feedback wouldn't be unwelcome.

I also remain silent if I like something, depends on how well I can comment. Or let's say it's random. and uhm welcome. I've already given my statement on how well I like your fic.

So I've been here just shy of a month now I think. About two full days put in here already! I wanted to thank everyone who has been reading my fic and the forum posters in general. Seriously, guys I've enjoyed all of the chats I've struck up with a few of you recently on AIM and YIM. I've just been having an odd day. Real up and down for most of it, nothing too bad. Draining, more than anything. There is more fic on the way soon, watching the newest SSB today has given me some ideas.
