In case anyone hasn't heard of it yet, The long-awaited Simpsons Movie is coming out worldwide July 27 2007. You can watch the trailer here!: http://www.simpsonsmovie.comTHe single scene it shows in the trailer is hilarious. It's mostly about Homer, but the whole family (including Lisa!) has tremendously huge parts in the movie. I can't wait!

Interesting: 'The Simpsons Movie' in Russia was translated as 'The Simpsons in Movie'. Correct me, Dagdamor, if I'm not right.

Ok. Here are my thoughts on The Simpsons Movie.
The Comic Con clips looked promising, this stupid trailor just ruined it. I'm going to see this, but I doubt I'll like it.

I'm going to watch it on DVD. Simpsons movie is just going to be too popular, and for an aspurger thats a no no. Too much stress. However, I'm gunna look at it with a very open mind. It will only be 'bad' if you compaire it to a 'good' episode... so I'll look at it as a completely new series. No expectations

I'm looking forward to see this. Most of the nowadays episodes aren't that good also because things are too rushed there, too complicated plots (not always though), too many events, stars and unrelated jokes... looks like writers don't have enough time to show everything properly. With the full-length version they won't have this limitation, so I believe they will do it nicely. So, like Marco, I'm crossing my fingers.

Well, I've seen two or three different trailers now, and nearly all of them showed Homer in some painful scenes. I don't know if this is a joke from the producers, but if not, this movie is going to be worse than season 11 to 13 - and IMO, those were the worst of the entire show. If this movie turns out to be "Homer's House of Pain", I will boycott it, that's for sure.

I've seen that new foreign trailer. Pretty sad. Undialogued jokes are my favorite, and this trailer was just horrible.

You know what would be great? If they brought back all the excellently talented writers from seasons 6-8. THEN the movie would be a success, yes?

* Dagdamor hopes this thread won't degrade into another "How much Simpsons suck nowadays" thread which are so popular now ametur_poetKDLYou both say that like it's already a failure, but you haven't even seen it aside from the short clips... About writers from the old seasons... hmm, this is a tough question. People change, I'm not sure those people could now write as good episodes as they did in the past (especially keeping in mind that huge baggage of already done episodes and used ideas). Who knows though... but we have no choice, right?

Who knows though... but we have no choice, right? hmmm?. you must believe? it will be a good film? still it is left time? and the writers have studied for it? or perhaps they go it drinking? and with so many surgeries to the brain? I do not believe that they have many ideas? and with pays?. but? I continue thinking that it will be a good film? ? PS: intro of the film is not very good?. but it is a piece of her?. it does not mean that all the film will be bad or will not have anything new? Gustavo observes the page of the film?. and says: Oh God! please this must change 5 minutes after ... well... is all...

I never said it would be bad. I'm just saying what would make it better in my own opinion, if they have not already done this.

I'm looking forward to this movie, though I hope it isn't completely about Homer's journey. I want to see more of the others in the family, and Maggie too! Yes, it does seem like Homer's getting too much of the pain scenes, so hopefully he'll take tons of painkillers.

of coure this movie will be great... here's the reasons: 1. it's taking a long time to finish 2. the comic con clips look promising (especially the maggie vs. mr. teeny one) 3. it's just great (way to support my own opinion)

I don?t think this is going to be such as I am going to say, but:
I have the feelings this movie will suck, or at least it will be moderate... why? Because I have this feeling... and my movie-feelings are never wrong! *amy voice* Never!!!

CargoOfDarknessOoh... I must say one thing, if you already expect it to be bad, then it will be bad for you, regardless of its actual quality. It's how human psychology works... I always try not to expect anything from a person/movie/book/game etc, to prevent myself from spoiling it. Maybe that's the reason why I haven't seen any of the trailers yet. Sorry for the lame reply (honestly, I just wanted to override Bartstar7's one )... at least people know here that the Simpsons movie will be just a longer version of the same show. You should see some of the replies to the similar topic at ISFF - some people apparently believe that that will be a "real" movie, with real actors playing the Simpsons family... and of course nobody likes that idea.

I'm looking forward to it but, I do have my doubts. The plot seems a little abstract. And I don't want to get stampeeded in lines for tickets. I'll probably either go see it after the crowds have died down a little or, wait for the movie/DVD.

I guess my point of veiw would have to be that I shouldn't have high hopes for the movie. Because most of the very good ideas have been used (and in some cases, re-used) in past seasons. And I don't want to get my hopes up from now up untill the summer and be let down for the writing quality and poor jokes and puns. I think the family and the rest of Springfield could make a funny movie on their own, but I don't think they need all of these guest stars to flash up or up-stage the characters and ruin the plot. But I'll admit I snickered some in the season 9 movie preveiw on disc one.

Wow, thanks for all these links Gary It's made me more excited about the movie The only clips that didn't work for me however were 3 at the IGN site ( http://uk.media.movies.ign.com/media/034/034386/vids_1.html) The one with Moe's bar seemed to work fine though yet the others never loaded for me, but ah well. I still love that spider pig Oh and Han zimmer's version of The Simpsons main theme song, is...it's ok, it's not that different tbh yet I still prefer Dan Elfman's as it seemed to have more "oomph"...The strong rhythm is just more defined
