The day is finally closer than I was expecting it to be. I am 7 days out from this , the 15th of January 2008, until I leave for Basic Training. As many of you know I have joined the Army and questioned what others here thought about it, but I did it anyway. Now I am but 7 days away from leaving everything behind and changing my entire life, hopefully for the better. So I created this thread as a good bye to all my friends at LTS. I will be Posting here everyday until I leave, Counting down those days.

I want to say a few things to everyone though.
To Daggy and Marco, This place rocks and though I will be gone for a while, I will never abandon it. I hope to return within the next 12 weeks to post again.

To George Harrison, Though you and I had our problems, We still had some good chats and a good time dealing with each other. Continue Writing and working on finding the one special person for you.

To Rachel, our own Black Raven, The same goes for you. We had some awesome chats and I have to say that there is no better person to have draw a lion. I hope that everything works out for you and that your days will bring you nothing but joy through the trials.

To Suusje, I always loved our chats, as short as they were. Some good natured ribbing made the day nice for me. And no I am not still hammering that F5 key.

To Syke, Where to start? How about those times on OC. I think that we both had a bit too much fun doing those. Especially your odd Darth Vader/Halo Creation. You know that your art astounds me and I hope to see much more of it when I get back here.

To Sylenne, I dont know if you are even still on this site, but all I can say is thanks, and I know that God will help you along the road of your life.

To Opus, my dear friend, Our chats have provided both of us with much relief and release about things that have happened and I thank you for them. The time spent chatting and Drawing OC is something that will always stay with me. I know that you have been having a  few problems as of late with your health, but I know that you will be alright after it all. Be Safe and healthy, may your business flourish and I know that you will get the things out of life that you wanted.

To those I have not named, I wish you all the best out of life. Those things may lead you away from here, but lets hope that somewhere down the line, you will all come back and we can share what we all have discovered.

The main reason that I have Chosen a military Career is because there are no jobs where I live and I have no Direction. I now have a Plan for my future though. I will complete my masters degree while I am In the service and hope to make Officer level within the next 5 years. Plus the training will give me the ability to have a Job in something that will make me happy and keep me secure for the rest of my life. After my basic Training is over, I will be able to come back on and post again, and do more on my writing and Art. So dont feel too bad. Think of it as a 2 and a half month vacation. I'll be back

Yes, and that I meant too. (about no job in your home place) I think it's quite good way you've chosen in the end. Do they provide you with your own apartment (for long-service) or make some help with bying it like credit?

Hah, I don't think those two things are incompatible (the creativity and militaries). In oposite it's like a tendency, especially in the past when much poets and artists was military.
Concerning my own feelings - it's much my own impressions. That's the way of living. :-\

I admire you, and your choice, very much Laguna. I of course hope it'll turn out to be the right choice and seeing your enthusiasm it might pretty well be.

What to say, thanks for your words. Live the next few days happily because i'm sure you'll have to do sacrifices after that (absence from LTS for first!  ), but be strong. I'll cheer for you!

6 days left. I went on a hike with my only two friends that I still have from High school. the trail that we took lead us through 5 miles of winding canyons. I took a pack with me weighing in at 34 pounds and walked all 10 miles with it. Preparations are going good and tomorrow I have my PT test,  the last test that i will have to take to get my Rank of PV2

Well, I'm happy to know that you are about to leave, not because you are living us  ofcourse, but because you are folllowing your goals.   You are going to be missed , bro.


I hope you get trough those ranks as soon as possible, but let me tell you after E-3 PFC, There are 2 ranks.  SPC, Then corporal.  They are both E-4 but the corporal has more power that the specialist, just because he is like a non comannding officer. and the specialist is a knowleadgeabel soldier.  they both can become Sgts , but it is easier to become a seargean from corporal than spc.,


Have a great last day at you normal civilian life for a while, Laguna.  I'm sure you r boot camp will be like aq breeze for you since you are fit to go with it.     in AIT you will have the weekends off.

36 weeks looks much shorter on paper than it actually is. Regardless of whether or not you believe me, I'll get around to reading your Windrunner Chronicles. You put in the effort of writing them and reading/reviewing my own story, the least I can do is do the same for you.

Sorry to hear about your ranks, but I guess there's not much you can do about it anyway... only curse your recruiter for misinforming you Until then, hopefully we'll meet again further along the path. I'll be praying for your safe return.

Hey everyone. I am down at the hotel in San Diego. Tomorrow I get to go out and head for the Airport. My last night as a Civilian will be spent playing a few games here, talking with the few people that I care to call and then I leave. Thanks to everyone who has said good-bye, but I will not be gone forever. Keep this place going and pay attention to others, you never know what one post will do for someone.

well, I am already hating the military. A single circle on my medical records has stopped my shipout. three doctors didnt see it the first time, then the last Doc I dealt with, said you need to get some genetic testing done. So I am back for a while (or at least for a week or 2). I'll update later after I get some sleep. Been up since 3 am today.

I'd sue 'em for missreperesentation. But then again I'd put an RPG-7 through Mr. Bush's front door so, dont listen to me.

Sorry to hear that though. I'm sure your not the only one who's had this. Maybe its a sign? I dont believe in God but, I believe in a second chance. Never know... Anyway, hope everything gets sorted out for you in pronto-time.
