I was driving home this evening listening to the radio, while talking to my mum, guess who I heard on the radio but none other than our own little Lisa.

I have found one of the clips which was played on air, this is not the one I heard but still pretty good, I will try and see if i can catch the other clip.

Yeah, that was kind of weird. There's no need to cry over something like that. :S

Wow, that was certainly odd Big Grin But cute indeed. She does sound a bit older during the "Pick up pick up pick up", part.

Look at that hand, lying there
The room is dark, she shows no fear
I'm lying still, my eyes are wide
My heart is pumping, I'm still alive

I'm still awake against my will
What will it ever take
To still this burning in me?

Weird but cute audio clip Smile
To me, her voice sounded a bit different than in the show. Maybe because the recording didn't have too high quality (and also because the voice was a bit muted, like speaking through the pillow). But it still was Lisa, and it was funny and cute!

I recorded a great interview with Yeardley Smith on Virgin Radio. Coveres some very inteeresting topics too. Found it quite enjoyable to listen to. Covers topics such as the movie and some questions that some of us have even asked!

Here it is, Yeardley's interview with Ben Jones:

Time: 9min 45s
File: Mono MP3

*Please can I request that people do not link to this file for use on other sites or pass the link on to non LTS members without my permission. Anyone on LTS is welcome to download for themselves to use and pass on as they please. Bandwidth can be expensive and I am using my dad's old company server Wink Ta very muchly!

Oops, I'm sorry Embarrassed I have linked the previous clip (the one in the beginning of the thread) on my another forum. This is probably the reason of high bandwidth... the link's removed now.

Today... I downloaded both files and heard "Lisa Simpson alive"! that was so lovely Smile Thanks for catching those ones! I only wonder if there some "synopsis" of what exactly Yardley said the second grab. I understand some parts but not all...
And surely you must find at the end the fist clip you heard. Lisa

That was a nice little interview!   I found it surprising that Yeardley finds it difficult to sing as Lisa as I've always thought that was one of her great strengths.   To me she's always sounded very comfortable singing in character so it's all the more impressive that it's not something that comes naturally to her.   It's nice to hear that she still enjoys watching the show too!

Whoo, great post, Empethree! That was one entertaining radio show :3 Judging by the host's questions and remarks, he just might be a closet Lisa fan! I also liked the part where Yardley talks about her singing technique. Most awesome.

This makes me wonder how much control, if any, the Simpsons producers exercise over the voice actors' interviews. Are Shearer, Smith and the rest absolutely free to roam and blabber about insider-info and spill the beans about production secrets on radio shows?

Finally, download and listened it. Smile

First, thanks so much to Empethree for recording and uploading that brilliant interview; second, I'm astonished at how Yeardley's opinion about Lisa is similar to mine! She just seems to be a typical Lisa fan - and I mean "typical" in good way, the one who understands her so well, admires her good sides, admits her imperfections but doesn't identify herself with her; like she said, she doesn't have more than 1/3 of Lisa "inside", even her natural voice is a bit different. Liked how she explained about difficulties with singing for Lisa. Smile I'm not sure I understood everything, but Yeardley seems to be a very nice and intelligent person to me now, and the one who treats her character the most "correct" way. Smile Again, thanks! More people should listen that.

I remember someone requesting a synopsis of the Yeardley interview.

I have transcribed the interview online for those who also want to read it, I would recommend listening to it first and then reading if you couldnt catch parts, or can't understand certain bits.

I have uploaded it to a seperate page and not into the tread as not to spoil the audio for those who have not listened as yet!

That was cool, thank you very much for writing that stuff down. For now I do know more about the movie through Yardley's eyes Smile Intersting detail, that should be kind of obvious thing, but still impressive for me - they did all the work with episodes and the Movie in parallel mode. And it's always interesting to hear actress' opinion about the character she plays so long and become 'related'.
