I have been wondering about this question for a while now "What would it be like to have Lisa for a Sibling" well here are my thoughts:
Lisa: Having Lisa for a sister if she didn't star in the Simpsons would probably feel like any other sister, If we knew she was from the Simpsons she would be a person to look up to. Having Lisa for a sibling would be great at times, you could hang out with her, take her down to the libray, out for ice-cream ect. But what about falling's out if there were any, would they be over Lisa's views on Life, Her Buddhism or being a Vegetarian or even about Lisa herself but overall Lisa would be the perfect sister as she has proved from the Simpsons, she would always be there for you.
What do you think about Lisa for a Silbing?

One word: Heaven. Yes. Like Serge, I never had a sister, but only have a brother, so I don't even know how it "feels" to have a sister. My brother was more like Bart when he was young, and I was the "Lisa" in the house, so it would be great to have someone with a similar mind.

Just one word: Never! I want a girlfriend who has the attitude and the gift of Lisa - but never a sister. I do have a older sister, that?s enough for me.

I think it would be alot of fun. I've always wanted a sister... and having Lisa would be really neat. I think we would be able to along pretty easily. And maybe she would help me understand these damn algebra equations.

Andreas said it right. I never had a sister, only a cousin, but that's different thing, my cousin is a very nice girl and I love her, but we never lived together, in one family, so I don't know how it feels. That's something I've missed in my life. Maybe living with Lisa wouldn't be as wonderful as dreaming about it. But I'm sure we would become good friends, we have much in common. I would love to spend time with her, to care about her, to protect her from anything bad... no matter if she was my younger or elder sibling. Perhaps having older sister has its disadvantages, I can understand Cargo's point, but if you two come along, age difference becomes less and less important with each year.

I have a sister and I am grateful for that, we have had the same kindo f relationship as most, the odd fight, arguements ect, but I am grateful I have one. I do not get on with my brother in the slightest, but my sister is different. Having Lisa as a sister would be a difficult one though. I think I would rather have her as a friend, as as a sister I may not appreciate her personality in the same way. And dont want sibling rivalry destroy that. A cousin or another member of the family, yeah probably. Then again if she was my sister, then reality would be different I woudn't know any better anyway

I don't know.
I was meant to have a sister, but she died right after birth, so i cannot know how it would feel, and to be honest i think i wouldn't be a good big brother at all, being naturally envious and competitive against everyone better than me at stuff. And she would just destroy me under that light. No, i'd rather know Lisa as a friend... and i'm happy enough by knowing her as an ideal.

SimpRealI'm sorry... and who knows how would you act if things came different way. No need to suspect the worst. The "friend" and "sibling" terms aren't mutually exclusive. Unless you meant "girlfriend", which is different thing *sigh* If Lisa was my sibling, we could cook for each other...

CasperBut... 10800 + 200 doesn't make 20000 MaggiecuteYes, and many other things too... but I meant our vegetarianism mainly here. I'm not sure how to explain, but when you're surrounded with meat-eaters, having another vegetarian nearby would be a GREAT support. For example, Bart is left-handed, and it's a difference from others. I'm sure he got mocked for that enough in kindergarten, school etc - and if Lisa was left-handed too, they would be a little bit, but still closer to each other. If that makes sense...

In all honesty, I have always wanted a little sister, not because we would really be close, but I would defend her to the end. I quite like the idea of protecting and helping others. This is probably why I never do anything really for myself.

It totally makes sense, Dag. I decided to become a vegetarian when I was a teenager, so still living with my parents and younger sister. It would have meant SO much to me if I had someone in the family that supported my decision and truly understood me. But luckily I'm a stubborn girl so I stuck to it anyway. No looking back in regret, but yes it would have been wonderful (and so much easier for me) to have Lisa as a sister and share such an important cause.

For now I can't say too much about the thread's theme. But just yesterday me and my younger brother and a friend has some fun, watching the shows on PC, played a very old games, laughing. And I'm thankful them for this, it saved me in some way. But must to say the younger simblings uses to remember some facts about past, about the common childhood, even the pre-school times For example my brother remembered his crowning phrase: "I'll be birching my waitress!" (hey, it's not a sadism, he was four-five and I was about eleven those times!) and some another our giggling jokes from the past (his unique alphabet self-developed). So, aside all those rivalry's in the childhood, the simbling can turn a real treasure in the further life. That I start to make sure more and more.

I feel the same way. I like to protect people, but I've never had any siblings. It would be nice to have a little sister.

I would love to have Lisa as a sister, because I think we would get along really well. We have a great deal in common and would enjoy doing things together because we both like the library, a quiet refuge, and writing and poetry and all of that. Of course there will be the occassional argument, but there always is. If you look at my real sister and I, we get along pretty well but we still fight every now and then. But, if I had to deal with Bart as a sibling... my brother is bad enough. He actually is sort of a real life version of Bart with the skateboarding and hating school and causing mischief and fighting with my sister (just so you know, my sister is nothing like Lisa).

I like to have Lisa as my pupil, because we might get along with meditations, learning different fighting styles, consertating for our mind and other things. I will type this a little short, because I have a little brain to think to write something.

ambercrystalWait a minute... is your brother older than you by any chance? If you bro is like Bart, and your sister is not like Lisa, maybe you're actually the "Lisa" in your family? Have you ever thought about vegetarianism, or alternative religions? Seriously, it's amusing to know that so much similar family relations exist in the real world.

Seriously, it's amusing to know that so much similar family relations exist in the real world. Well, when I look at my parents, they are a lot like Homer and Marge. Of course the Simpsons are more or less a portray of the typical middle-class American family (at least in the first few seasons), so it's natural that you will find some traits of them in your own family as well, but sometimes it's eerie to see so many coincidences.

That is a good theory Dagdamor. No, my brother is the youngest, but it could still work out that way. I am quiet and smart and my brother is annoying and my sister acts like a baby... she could be the Maggie. She is younger than me.

I think it would be a great experience to have Lisa as my sister I only have one other sibling, an older brother, who really can be a pain At times I feel like Lisa. I feel like I can connect with Lisa a lot, as I'm sure everyone else here feels in some way or another So I think we would get along quite well

I think there's no need to fit the scheme 'old brother - younger sister' to be a 'Lisa' in family. Or to feel something like she. You can be a 'lisa-person' on your own, it's only a question of your personal qualities. If you are lonely, misunderstood, some intellectual and seek for a beauty in people and to learn more about this world, you surely is 'Lisa' already. I'm saying it and about myself too

Well, what I meant by sometimes I feel like Lisa was mainly because of the "older brother/younger sister" thing, being that sometimes I have to cope with his ... irksome tendencies Of course I'm not saying I hate him or anything, I just feel like sometimes we may have a bit of a Bart/Lisa relationship going on.

starfishHeh, why? What's the difference? Having a sibling is similar to having a close friend... when you're friends, that is You say that your sister is "Lisa" in your family, that means that she's nice and smart person, I can only envy you here, because I never had one...

To have Lisa as a close friend and to have her as a sibling could be very different things. I can say it from my brother's experience. When you have a sibling he (or she) have almost the same brains as yours, that true. Both you had the same parents, so your morality is pretty the same, your tastes quite associated. And even when there's differences big enough the attitude to that is like... to the somebody else's property. He listening to that style of music - so I must listen to another, just to spare my own personality. And such idiotism Talking about Lisa as my sibling I say I must be pretty same like Bart to be her native brother. Or she must be similar to my 'alternative personality' if I want to be 'myself' with her. Or she simply can be my stepsister... Anyway, the brothers and sisters are much closer to each other than any of best friends. Of course only in the childhood, 'cause getting adult means everyone became much estranged from each other. And that's a small tragedy I thnik.

Its a strange thought really. What Yggdrasil is saying is not wrong, but leaves a bitter impression to me. I'm the middle child of three sons, and we're all different. For example, my elder brother likes trance and light rock music, modified cars. My younger brother likes rap and urban music, fashion, and "being big 'n' ard". Where as I like heavy metal, skateboarding, art, etc... I dont think its about being born similar or different that makes people bond well with each other, its how they react to their company. Despite our differences, they're still my best friends. (Well, at least my elder brother is. )

I'd love to have Lisa as a sister! I have a sister and we often have arguments but they're not the standard brother-sister arguments, it's more. I know that cause she also very often has arguments with others. Lisa is pretty much like me - the biggest difference is the fact that she's a girl So I think Lisa and I would be very, veeery good friends as siblings.

A lot of people here seems to love the idea of being Lisa's brother, i wonder why But anywho, i think it would be a very hard task in any way you look at it. Lisa's not a simple character to live sideby.

SimpReal No, she's not. And I think the most difficult thing about living with her would be a constant competition for greatness - Lisa is an overachiever, and unless you were the same, you would have to live in her shadow. I don't think being her brother would be a very fun experience.
But then again, some people like competing in that manner... so, more power to 'em.

"unless you were the same" - you got it. But Lisa is always good for a sister - Bart doesn't care much bout her intelligence... and he's a little like my sister, so if you look @ my comment @ top, you'll know what I mean.
