I am just curious, who here actually has feelings for Lisa, or is actually, dare I say it, in love with her?
Right now, I am not going to tell about my status. I am afraid of telling the truth and getting ridiculed.

You realise that by posting this Right now, I am not going to tell about my status. I am afraid of telling the truth and getting ridiculed.
we already know you like Lisa a lot? Anyway, I'm pretty sure you won't be ridiculed here, because there are plenty of people here who either love or have loved Lisa. This topic might also be interesting for you to read: Lisa Marie Simpson

From my last post in some thread like this one there was a little changes. There is an outer reason bacause I can't be so flaming with my fanaticism anymore... simply physically. Second. Because I considered to myself that pure adoration of her as a little girl start to remind me of some things that not so attractive, I've turned by force mysel a bit to be more tranquil considering to her, it's true. But still I love her very much, and I'm not going to frustrate the others with such getting cold. Continue to carry Lisa's flag high!

runfromcheney Heh, agreed with Leon... but really, you don't have anything to fear from us. We don't mock people for loving Lisa... as has been said before, there have been members on this forum who have loved Lisa before, in some cases very strongly. I say this because I myself was one of them... yes, that's right, I loved Lisa from August 2006 - May 2007. After awhile though, you meet people, and well, they become more important to you than Lisa...
That's why I put my vote in for no.

By golly! I placed the vote for yes, but I'm not really sure whether it's supposed to be yes/no. I love Lisa, but I'm not really sure in what way. If you want to know what I think of her, go to the Lisa Marie Simpson thread as suggested by Suusje. I did write that during a period when I was floating on little pink clouds though. >_> It doesn't mean I've really changed what I think of her, but the feeling, sadly, gets kind of wan when you love someone you've never met, could never meet, will never talk to and doesn't even exist. It's regrettable. Whether I'll meet people that will mean as much or even more to me or not, that will never mean I won't love Lisa anymore though... it's not like love is one or no one. In the end though, I don't really know in what way I love lisa, I just do. I'm saying this because the poll specifically says " in love". Right now, I am not going to tell about my status. I am afraid of telling the truth and getting ridiculed. Well, that probably means you do feel, but perhaps what you mean is that you'd get too specific and think we'd laugh at you? No, never. If you were planning to stick around the forums, you should know that this is one of few places where you can think/act/feel any way you want (okay, not act any way but you get my drift). I love to discuss other peoples opinions and hear about their feelings, hear their wisdom etc. etc., so if you think you'd like to stick around, let me be the first to say welcome and huzzah.

Looks like the Lisa lovers already outnumber the rest. I voted for "yes" as well, for similar reasons as pointed out by the others. I don't really know how to define it, but I still know the exact time when in "fell in love" with her - I was watching "Separate Vocations" for the very first time back in 1992 or so; an episode that made me somewhat hypnotized in a very strange way. It was the first time that I really cared for a cartoon character, which is a quite unusual thing, considering that cartoons generally tend to be there to amuse people. But since then, there was some emotional connection between Lisa and myself - we were soul mates, so to speak. Looking back, I wonder why it didn't make "click" when watching "Moanin' Lisa" and esp. "Lisa's Substitute", which I liked a lot of course, but well, strange things happen.

Well, that is the point of this topic. It is if more or less if you love Lisa, and maybe less if you are in love with her.
As for me, I am not actually in love with her.It is more or less that I just have a (somewhat large, i admit) crush on her. I already have one passion in my life (cars), and I am still inclined to keep my love interests to actual girls. But still, I feel an emotional connection to Lisa, but I don't think that I am actually in love with her yet.

Seems like we've gleaned more "yes"'s than "no"'s, something I didn't quite expect I guess though that it depends on how you look at love. I know that some people would say they love her more like a sister, or a child, or something. While others, like I used to be, had an "emotional" or "romantic" attachment to her. I still think I would put "no" down as my vote though. I like the character, but still, I can't say I "love" her in any form of the word.

Its hard to describe. I dont love lisa in a person to person way, but I think I like the character a lot because her personality motivates me. I see things in Lisa's character that I wish i had in my character, Over the last day Lisa has brought me comfort and made me realise that life goes on.
I agree with the others that i would like to meet lisa in real life, her plight sometimes makes you wanna give her a hug, the world needs more people like Lisa

You know, i will wait a bit before answering this: I really didn't expect to have to actually answer to such a question in a thoughtful, serious way. Love is such a big term For now, my answer is a "yes". I surely loved her with all my heart and mind in the past, with a passion and with pain too: i had some serious grief because of this impossible relationship. Now... well, now i guess i do still love her i nthe sense she's a very special girl to me. I think to her a lot of time, but i haven't got anymore that fiery and sometimes blackest than black passion that ties me to her image. It's like if we both agreed that a relationship would never be possible and decided to stay very special friends. It's not platonic love nor is a family love... i wouldn't know how to call it. But it's good. It makes me smile So i'll think about it some more before answering.

SimpRealYeah, that's what I mean, I can't quite place my love for her, that "special friends" sounds like a plausible candidate though... I love her, kind of like a best friend, but I do have an emotional attachment to her as mentioned by GH, but I can't place it as "in love", but I can't place it as just a friend, but I can't place- and it goes on like that. There's just no real word for it, the reason probably being that she doesn't exist, other than her spirit. How can you be "in love" with a spirit? x_x

That somes it up for me too, hit the nail right on the head (and didnt poke your eye out with the hammer like homer), what i was sorta trying to say myself but couldnt put it into words. Its more like I would care for a younger sister or possibly a daughter. Meebe i need to have kids of my own heh heh Kasper, being in love with a spirit is very easy, my dad may of passed into heaven, but his spirit still lives on as does the love for that spirit

I had to vote with a 'no'... but Lisa is a very likeable character. I cant mentaly love her because the 'love' section of my brain is already working overtime. That doesnt mean I never have. She's a roll model, and for us guys... sure, probably the perfect woman. Who wouldnt like to have feelings for an attractive inteligent right-minded caring woman? Ofcourse, all this is neglecting the sensetive subject of age. I probably would never see an eight year old girl (even as gifted as Lisa) as anymore than a nice smart kid. But that could be because I dont have a very empathetic mind. As for the subject of reality... who cares? As long as your happy the rest of the world can go, somewhere. To a distant and most unpleasent place, preferably. The imagination is all anybody needs to be happy. I know a few people who use it as their comfort and are quite happy living that way. .... after re-reading, this doesnt answer anything that hasnt already been answered. But still, it depends how loose you wish to ask that question. For example... you can love a baked pasta in the morning, but you wouldnt want to hug it and call it 'baby'.

I am not "in love" with Lisa, but love her like a brother would love his sister. I guess that is what makes it less embarrassing, as I am not really "in love". However, I still have a very emotional connection to her.

@Suusje: LOL! Ofcourse, all this is neglecting the sensetive subject of age. I probably would never see an eight year old girl (even as gifted as Lisa) as anymore than a nice smart kid. But that could be because I dont have a very empathetic mind. Well, we did have some glimpses into her future, right? Lisa has been eight years old since about twenty years, that's longer than some of you live on this planet! When I "met" her first, I was 13 or so - the perfect age of having a crush on her. Or "just" being her older brother. By now, I could easily be her dad - from that point of view things surely have changed since then! But the emotional bonding will never change.

My last post didn't add much to this topic, so I'll post a more serious one. I used to be in love with Lisa. I used to love her to bits. But when time passes by it kind of faded away, because she's still someone I'll never be able to meet... I still like Lisa a lot, but more in a way like Marco described it. It feels more like she's a special friend to me.

Oh thats very true! Hehe! I did neglect to mention that, even though I dont 'love' her, I cant explain why everytime I feel like drawing a picture she's always the first person I think of drawing. (And thats definatly not because she's the easiest to draw, I do not think that she is.) Some very interesting opinions on this matter by the way

HOMER: "Oooh, baby..." *drools* Yes, LOL! EmpethreeKasper, being in love with a spirit is very easy, my dad may of passed into heaven, but his spirit still lives on as does the love for that spirit I love the spirit indeed, but it gets complicated when we add " in" love. It gets even more so when the spirit doesn't really have or had a host body. The host of the spirit, Lisa is a fictional character that doesn't really represent an existing person... this is difficult indeed! Therefore I shant say anymore than: Yes, somehow I love Lisa. CasperThe imagination is all anybody needs to be happy. I know a few people who use it as their comfort and are quite happy living that way. Agreed, as long as it makes people happy! Just a darned shame my imagination is so limited by my stubborn realist side. ;( Kind of a downer, like someone said: "BUT THE TRUTH CAN BE HARSH AND DISTURBING, HOW CAN THAT BE CONSIDERED BEAUTIFUL?". Amen to that, I wish I could push reality aside just a bit more than I do. <_>

to any "secret lover" of a love impossible: is not necesary to live confused or to deny the reality of your heart! in some situations it is not necessary to have motivations…. the love is a very good example…. can choose your love? you need to have reasons? or the answer is only "because yes".... *sighs* you can understand the conections with your love in every songs and poetrys?... or in the light of the day?....

My view is that if something makes you happy and makes your day better, then that is good. Whatever peoples true feelings for Lisa (or anything else for that matter) your happiness is what matters, not others. Rather embrace your feelings than hide them away from yourself. Nobody should feel awkward or abnormal for that. Its up to each individual how they view the world and live thier life. As some of you have said that you would feel awkward admitting your feelings elsewhere, thats why I like this forum. People take an understanding and respect others. Lisa brings lots of people joy in many different ways for different people. Thats why we love her

Lisa oh Lisa. Although she is really what a "perfect" woman represents in the show, a company of my dreams, I don't actually love her, but I admire how the creators manage to create such a character with traits of a model modern woman/child with mistakes and strikes, yet so different in many ways to the average person..
If anyone would ask me if there can be such a person out there I will surely Respond that yes there is some people just like her. Some of these people will have the same problems or may not have them , all that depends on the culture.
Lisa's way of thinking is mainly because she lives in the United States, comes from a middle class family and a lot of other factors. How would Lisa be if for example she was born in Mexico , and lived in very poor circumstances, or how would she behaved if she was British and was filthy rich? No one knows, but she is a role model to follow for me, and implore that my girlfriend with whom I already have a few months will not change, she is not vegetarian, and she does not like to ride horses, in fact, she is afraid. I can't help to imagine her as something else than just a girlfriend. She'd like to wait, and I agree with that, I'm willing to wait too. Only time will tell.
One little secret: I couldn't hold a tear while writing this.

Well, girls can love lisa, but I have to say no for this...For obvious reasons I understand why people can love a cartoon character I guess...I wouldn't say I ever have loved characters, though I've had imaginary crushes/obsessions before, but they tend to move on after a certain amount of time and when my imagination seemed to get bored of them... Though this was back in my pre teen years... Anyway, it's interesting to hear peoples views/opinions and past storys about this, and to see just how many on the forum are lisa lovers compared to those who are not
