Hello, this is my first post here.
Anyways, in my Economics class, we were given the assignment to create two or three advertisements for a product. So, I chose Lexus automobiles.Using Lexus promotional photos and photoshop 7, I created these advertisements. I decided to incorporate Lisa into the advertisements, as I believed that her beauty and wisdom fit perfectly into the vehicles' personalities, which I make clear in the advertisements, using artwork I gathered from the site. I, as well as my teacher, was very impressed by them, so I decided to join here and post them. I hope you enjoy them, I an very impressed with the emotion of the first and third ad, as well as the slight hint of humor of the second. To the artists, I apologize for using your work without your permission. I was just in a pinch, and didn't have to time to track down the artists of the images and ask their permission, as I only had an hour to throw these together in the school library.
ANyways, enjoy the beauty that is Lexus automobiles, and of course our Lisa.

Hey, nice ads you made, there. Certainly better than those really obnoxious ads in magazines or TV. Good job on them.

I hope no-one will be against if I move this to the Sketchbook... it's still art, and interesting one, even if real photos were used and Lisa was "borrowed". runfromcheneyI'm with Gustavo, if I had money, I'd definitely buy this car after seeing this advertisement. On the second picture, Lisa doesn't look like sitting on the car, more like hovering in front of it. You can fix it easily by adding some shadow falling from Lisa's figure onto the car. Other two pictures look good, like them! Interesting approach with making a "working" ad.

runfromcheneyI'm going to say that the collages that you layed out here is done nice. But... the main idea... of that Lis would ever give her one's concent to be photographed in a advertisement of really costly motorcar sends me into awkward perplexity. She better goes to a meeting for closing of automobile plants that pollute nature and devastate it's resoulse... just for a nother "new and fashionable" model of car. Sorry, I can't take such vision of her. --- I'd prefer to see your own pictures someday because to be here, at this very place it must not be a casual coincidence am I right?

nice to see yet another new member. I do like seeing some new art here, but this is hmm.... Please forgive me, but I really dont care too much for this. I do enjoy the fact that you found some new places to put some older pictures, but I just dont much care for the Advertising portion of it. I tend to stay away from commercials and ads as much as possible (I dont ever make a decision about something by an ad, most in fact turn me off of the product). I would like to see some regular art from you or even those pictures of Lisa in different backgrounds. Like i said, it is nothing personal, I just dont care for advertisements ( I never liked me Economics class anyway ). [end pathetic rant mode]

* Kasper tosses a coin. Mmh, I'm going to say what I think. Agreed with laguna, I don't really care much for commercials, they just make attempts at dazzling crowds by putting some sort of message in there, it usually doesn't cut it for me. Let me set my person opinion on that aside, I definitly think that they fulfill what I just said, they are working ads! You decided to go for a poetic approach (kudos!), but it doesn't really tell me much about the product. Does that mean it's bad? No, that's what I mean, you bring the general public what they want. Ich, what a mess. If you wish, you can forget all of that and take this: You did good. Especially since you just had an hour at the school library, very good. By the way LOL at the second one, the look of Lisa meditating on the hood of a car with the subtitle "It's that smooth!" is outrageously funny! YggdrasillWhat if the car is a hybrid? No idea whether this Lexus is a hybrid or not though. But yeah, we've seen Lisa go against commercialism as little miss Springfield, I don't think she'd put up with anything like this unless it's to save nature or the likes. (Hybrid cars for the win!)

KasperWhat if the car is a hybrid? No matter. Even hybrid cars uses the fuel, so I'm only for solar-cars. But if we look from the rational point of view it came obvious that absolutely majority of new cars polluting the world with itself extremely (last couple of decades at least) while the old cars not necessary goes to recycling, many of it still runs as well side by side with a new ones, which more rises the greenhouse effect and blocks up the roads and streets of a big cities. I'm definitely believe that Lisa would never agree to put herself onto the advertising poster. (still I feel I must bring my excuses to runfromcheney, for this thread is dedicated to his art, maybe commercial in a way, but not to Lisa's lifelooks. Should I create a separate thread for this? I can )

Hybrid cars? What does this mean? I don't think advertising modern cars is that bad. Remember that new cars are always better, ecology-wise, than the old ones. They keep making new and new norms and standards about the allowed pollution level from the vehicles, and new standards are always more strict. So manufacturers have to make more efficient, safe and clean cars, otherwise selling them will be illegal. Of course making a new car is a complex process that also produces pollution. But this applies to any kind of car; solar ones aren't any better from this POV. And accumulator vehicles (like Lisa's Elec-Taurus from "Hit and Run" ) can be even worse here, accumulators require lead and other very toxic materials to build them up. And yes, I'm looking forward for a separate topic about this.

Hybrid cars are cars that have both a regular petrol engine and a battery powered engine. Hence the name. Those still aren't any good for the environment, though. It's all fun and games while it can still drive, but when the batteries are starting to die, you'll have a whole new problem. Where are you going to keep all the toxic waste from the batteries? No, Springfield lake is not a valid answer The ads are nicely done. The overlapping of the grass could've been a bit better in the first pic, but I guess this is as much as you can do with an hour worth of time and a school computer. * Suusje mumbles "Lisa, the pursuit of perfection"... Hey, what are you looking at?

You forgot to mention the real benefit of Hybrid cars, they get twice the fuel economy and give out less than half of the greenhouse gases that normal cars give out. I know that we still need to find a way to wene ourselves off of oil altogether, but hybrids are a step in the right direction.

OPINIONS:Its simple. Its a Toyota Lexus. Eww! Even if it has twice the efficiency, you'd get there twice as fast in a car with the same V8 engine the GS carries, well... maybe exagerated but still. If your looking for efficiency, how about a Audi A8? Or if your Lisa, or plain suicidle, how about the electric G-Wiz? (which diserves its own thread, for its safety issues and perfomance ridicule... but this isnt a motor forum ) The Lexus and the Audi are in the same catogary of car, however the ONLY reason anybody would seriously buy a Lexus instead is the price tag. The Lexus GS V8 is ?48,000 comparied to the whopping ?55,530 on the Audi. But seriously, you get what you pay for, and that extra money goes a long way. I've been looking for performance times but... eh heh, they seem kinda similar. I'd still have the Audi's amazingly refined four wheel drive system, and ofcourse the German quality; the feeling that its not built by a machine for every person, it feels special. And heck, if you had that much to spend in the first place, the Audi's extra expence is only estimatly 10% of the Lexus price. Fifth Gear did a review on the Lexus GS 450h, but this one is the V6 model, but for the sake of a fair argument, I'll post it here. Considering this is a Lisa Simpson forum, Lisa's car would be neither of the ones mentioned above. I think she'd much rather own a small European compact, like the Peugot 206, Saxo Fort?, or Volkswagon Lupo. (And yes, I watch too much Top Gear)(Last edit! I'm getting obsessed by this... just thought I'd post this too, its the Lexus GS 450h vs. the Audi RS 4, which is a much more powerful car than the Audi A8. Just trying to make the argument a bit more fair on the Lexus side) [/end of opinions] Each to his own! *is ready to be slaughtered*Whew, anyway. I think the picture idea is great! Even if I despise advertisement, Lisa in a car comercial is a really cool idea, and I might have to try that one day. You've cut out Lisa well, and resized and placed her well too. Congrats.

As for why I like Lisa above all the other Simpsons characters, my love for Lexus is emotional. Although the Audis drive and shift beautifully and stick to the pavement like glue, while you can't be a car guy if you don't get a hardon by the new CTS' styling those cars just don't have the special emotional quality I find in Lexus qualities. Basically, those advertisements explain what Lexus means for me.
As for the car Lisa would most likely drive, there is no contest. She would drive a Toyota Prius. Period, end of story.

I think the big thing though is that the prius is generally known by everyone as the essential "green" car, and when they see someone driving it, it just generally screams "HEY EVERYBODY! I AM HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT!" and that is why I think it fits Lisa.

Really interesting idea. I like the idea myself, I think if Lisa was going to drive a car It would be a hybrid drive one. Also reminds me of the episode Sideshow Bob Roberts when Homer & Lisa are both in the car listening to the talk show when lisa says "Dad, I had to listen to this jerk all morning. Can we listen tosomething else?" Homer replies: "When I'm driving the car, I get to choose the radio station. When you're driving, we'll listen to your radio station. To where it then switches scene to the radio showing a different station playing John Parr's St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion) and then scene switches to lisa smiling and driving and enjoying the track. Can just imagine her in her Lexus driving down the road happily listening to St. Elmo's Fire. To top it off I love that track too . I just think that scene is so cute and funny and gives an insight to what pop music Lisa likes too. Nice to know she seems to like 80's music like me Here is the scene in question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0_naSQgIscAnd the track in full: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVf4_WglzWA (the video is very cheesy but i like the track)

When it comes to raw power and not being bad for the environment, there's not much that beats these things: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVNu1s3dyQ4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx7qOE9kfPMThey run on methanol which doesn't produce nearly as much CO2 when used as fuel as gasoline. But I don't think Lisa would be driving one of those things. I think she'd leave that to Bart or Maggie.

I found these on my hard drive just a little while ago. These were ads I created a couple of months ago out of boredom featuring Marge and Lee Iacocca, for the 2008 Dodge Caravan, and I thought they could be appropriate to post here.

I like the second one, it has a nice meaning to it. Could relaly see it as an official advert for a SUV. The fourth one is a good idea too, but it's mostly good for the classic Marge pose/hairdo

SUV? Its a minivan! And I originally didn't plan for the fourth one. Just when I googled Marge Simpson to see the different poses I can get her in for the adverts, I saw that one and knew I had to make an ad out of it.

car ads created from bordem ? Hehe, this forums gonna be overtaken by car nuts So in risk of sounding like a complete idiot due to my lack of knowledge on cars, I will have to pass commenting on the car itself >_< Overall, Good usage of Marge art, and you have displayed this clearly, can see this in a magazine article

These ad's are actualy quite cool. Theres not much to comment on in term of artistic techneque as such but, its good how you've perfectly cropped the characters (Marge in this case) into every picture. *gets urge to buy a mini-van...*

agreed, the last picture from the dodge caravan series, is the most impressive. :-) a simple merging of pictures and it works. *gets urge to buy that version, featuring marge inside* runfromcheney, you have a good sense of choosing the right pics and backgrounds for your collages. also, you do very accurate work with merging them together. quite original and amusing stuff, keep it up.
