Here's my first female Simpson drawing I've ever dared to set online. Should I say 'behold!' or something?:-)

Wow, it's brilliant! I love it to the bits especially her expression. A perfect soldier I have no complaints at all, I will be never able to draw like that. Very good work. Keep it up, I hope to see more! P.S. What kind of gun she's holding? I'm not sure I ever saw it before...

The gun? I dunno:-) I never tried to draw anything particular, it's just an abstract sniper rifle. I seriously doubt Maggie could hold any real gun, too:-)

Heh! A combat baggie! It's a cute pic with some great details like the bow badge on the helmet and the spare pacifier ....and....wow! you actually put her name on the dog tags! (I only just spotted that!). The rifle's actually a pretty close match for the US M14 which is a useful coincidence as that's the rifle the recruits used during the training sequences in Full Metal Jacket!

FulbertI like your pic very much. It's very funny and original. Are you really never drew Simpsons earlier? Cause this piece of art by your looks just... professional. A sometimes i wonder how people, who never was interested in drawing shows wonderful results. The whole picture looks up to the mark almost like it has taken from the original show. The reserve pacific made me smile. Especially i want to notice a remarkable detail with roughly laying fingers at the gun's handly. Well, i must say you draw very good by one only to a picture.

Nice one. It's a funny picture that's well drawn. It seems Maggie and her pacifier will never be seperated, because it appears in almost every Maggie picture.

janglewolfYeah, I kept Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now in mind when I was drawing this, so I tried to make the "uniform" and the gun look 60's-like. I really wanted to give Maggie a Tommy-gun or an M-16, but she's a sniper, after all;-) YggdrasillHeh, you should've seen my sketches:-) This pic looks nice thanks to the Photoshop, but actually, I'm not really good at drawing. I never studied that stuff, I only drew in my copybooks (instead of writing serious stuff there;-). And I can't say I'm not interested in drawing - otherwise why would I be gathering the drawing guides at drawing.simps.net.ru? Of course, this isn't the first Simpson drawing I ever made. This is the first female Simpson I ever posted online, but I have my desk littered with the sketches of Lisa (it was me trying to draw her bloody hairdo!;-) and Co. There's still much for me to learn - poses, for example. And proportions. And scenery. And more than one character in a drawing. Lots of stuff:-) SuusjeIt seems Maggie and her pacifier will never be seperated Not on our lives, my friend:-) GeorgeHarrisonOne of the dog-tags says 'Margaret Simpson' and the other one says '100586-42 by Fulbert'. '42' is for her always to know what the Ultimate Answer to Life, Universe and Everything is:-) Alright... And now for a small update. The pic looked sort of dull without any background, so I tried and added it. Our cute G.I. suddenly turned into a little war criminal:-)

Maggie vs Baby Gerald ofcourse Damn right! In fact, it's a fan-pic to the forum RPG that's going on Dag's Russian forum. During a concert, Maggie's lost in a crowd, and the player who's playing her describes the situation jungle-style: Maggie is crawling through "the jungle of legs" when she encouters a "bloody uni-brow Charlie" in "the crown of one of the trees". I decided to illustrate:-)

Wow, that is very good. *go's crazy at the presence of a rifle*Does look like an M14 from the front, but the back reminds me of the Enfield, the way the magazine sits right next to the trigger guard. But it looks like a bolt action rifle, so in theory it cant be any because the M14 and Enfield where semi-automatic. But, anyway, I dont really care how close to a real rifle it is, I think it looks great! And suits Maggie much more than a modern weapon. The background is awsome, and the shading on Maggie just makes it twice as good. Her expression is comical! One thing I like, is how you've created the chain going to her dog-tags. Very simple but it looks very effective. The shadows of the rocks, and the detail on the ground is very good. I think you've thought very carefully how she should hold the rifle, though her arm looks a bit twisted, its very possible for a person to hold it like that. But also the fact that the rifle is upside down, all she needs to do is bring it in front of her and she's in the fireing position. Little details like a spare pacifier in her helmet make me smile I just love it! Excellent picture!

my first impression: OMGwtfhazllepheble..., that's SOOO adorable!! ^_^! I have a thing for Maggie with guns, they just seem to suit her, especially as a baby! This is certainly impressive, could easily have seen this as official Simpson merchandise art, or on a poster,..it's brilliant! What strikes me so much about this piece is the composition, it's unusual and exciting. You've used the shading and lighting very well here too, so the image of Maggie fits in with the background well . I don't think I have any criticism really, overall, I think this is a great piece of art

Hello again! CasperIt suddenly occured to me that the gun she was holding could be a Mosin-Nagant. It's bolt-action, it has the magazine next to the trigger. The front part of it is still wrong, though, and the metal "ball" on its back should be from the other side, and... oh, whatever;-) There's another question that arises if we assume that that's a Mosin-Nagant. Where did she get it? A war trophy, maybe?:-) Anyway, many thanks for your reply:-) Black_raven, ALMWhat can I say? Thank you fellas:-) I decided to try and finally draw a picture with two interacting characters. Of course, it has many flaws, such as wrongly posed hands, but I think it is not so bad after all:-)

Maggie_background aka Full Metal Diaper, colored versionIncredible! It's very hard to make a "background light" shading, I don't know how but it turned out perfect on your pic... like others, I have nothing to nitpick at, the picture is great. I also liked the details with her eyes (i.e. being noticeable in the darkness), this is the moment the artists sometimes forget about. And the background... I have no words about it, very believable and blazing Great work with Maggie! I'd say "keep it up" but you already posted another picture *is slow* I will comment it a bit later.

Shin AkumaIf you are so interested in Japanese stuff, then maybe I'll draw something more on the topic:-) DagdamorOh, the shading is not so hard. It's just a couple of books on photography I read, a couple of months of 3D Studio MAX studying, and my love for cartoons:-) I guess anyone can do it:-) The background for Maggie came out accidentally. I never imagined it would come out so nice. There's mostly filteres that I used, if I had to draw all this with my hands, the result would've been worse:-) See the included picture for instance:-) SuusjeBut of course! According to the Babel Fish, the hieroglyph she's writing stands for 'beauty'. Banal, innit?;-) GustavoOh, thanks for the kind words:-) I hope you'll enjoy the new version of the 'Calligraphy' picture even better. Now with background:-)

Oh yes! the background and the shading really lift the picture. I'm especially impressed with the lighting, as GH said it's got that twilight look to it and it's very atmospheric, that purple on the side of the hill was a great colour choice. The shadow cast by the figures is also spot on in relation to the light direction. The detail of the woodgrain on the floor is subtle but brilliant.

GeorgeHarrison, janglewolf I wanted to play with the light here. I think the twilight effect came out rather well. Some people mentioned though that the shadow of Lisa and Sensei fall sort of wrong, so I think I still have to practice that stuff a bit more.

FulbertCalligraphy_backgroundTouching picture we never seen Lisa in this role before, and it suits her. I'm not sure who's the guy teaching her, but Milhouse on the background is indeed a great touch The background itself deserves another look. I like how you made it the harmonious part of the picture, filling all the empty spots but without distracting the attention from the characters. The tree looks very natural there... and I like how the mountain gradually "dissolves" at its bottom. Great work, I hope it will teach people who wants to learn to draw as well as it teaches Lisa Japan calligraphy.

Whoa Fulbert, i missed the "Calligraphy" drawing! That is without doubt the best of the bunch, it's so intimate and colorful and happy, and original! Lisa looks cute as a bug's ear ( ) in that eastern outfit, and the settign of the picture is on-spot. the colors of the sky, the shadowing on the wodden floor... It's all so nice! Also, Milhouse in the background is a real funny bit. Poor Millie Congratulations!

Lisa is testing her new project for a school science contest:-)
I must confess, this one was intended to be better than that: it was to be funnier, more complex, with Bart and whatever. But after some hours of struggling with pencil and then CorelDRAW, I gave up. Hope to remake it some time.

And Fulbert keeps spamming pics! Not that I mind The last pic is a cool idea. The whole pic looks nice, except for the grass. The grass looks like it has been done within 30 seconds. But the idea and the way the rest of the pic is looking make up for that. Lisa's winged flyingmachine looks nice and detailed and Lisa has a funny expression. Keep up the good work!
