In her life Lisa fall in love several times, probably lost virginity to Milhouse and almost married Hugh. But she never was completely happy. And we never saw her own future family and children (except horrible fantasies with Milhouse and Ralph). So, what do you all think - may Lisa be happy not only in career, but also in family-life? Is there any man in Springfield, who deserves her love? What kind of partner she needs? Why show-creators didn't show us old Lisa, as happy grandmother, what happens in her life after her presidency?
And also I have stupid question - I always thought, than Langdon Alger was made-up by Lisa to test, if Homer will keep her secret, but some people don't think so. Where is the truth and what's the joke in name of this boy (i've read snpp's capsule, but found nothing interesting there).

Lagdon Alger was a friend of the writer of the episode.IIRC. And I think Lisa Igitov has a nice ring to it.

This threads are only getting weirder. But ok... Well, there are not that many boys in Springfield that are close to Lisas age, that would suit her.(at least none that we know of) I really liked that British guy (from future) though, he was so much like Lisa, but unfortunately he wouldn't accept Lisa's family. Her sabstitute teacher that she had a crush on was also her type, but too old. She just needs to find a younger version of him. I doubt it will happen in Springfield. Maybe when she's in college, she'll meet a soulmate that picks same classes as she does, and they'll have vegetarian burgers on their first date.

Maybe she wouldn't be as loved as she is now if she already had someone Well, even after "Lisa's weddind" everyone still love her, Milhouse and Hugh don't count So, I think admirers will be happy if Lisa will get love and attention from somebody... Sometimes she is so lonely. btw, in russian female surnames have "va", not "v" endings lizard_queenYeah, i know that Lisa's schoolmates not proper partners for her, but i want just find type of character, some strains of that Lisa's ideal... What kind of family will they build, will Lisa become a perfect mom, etc.

Hey, this is a very clever point honestly. Never thought about it that way I also agree with LQ as in, Hugh being the perfect guy for Lisa, too bad he was too uptight to try and understand Lisa's family. I also remember Thelonius, from "Trilogy of Error". That was a cute part, and he was really getting along with Lisa. And i've also always thought that Alger Lagdon was some kind of "made up" fantasy boyfriend, that Lisa thought up basing on her own character. A boy that loves puzzles? come on

A very interesting theme! I'm risking to seem biassed in this plan, but all the same i shall express. I think that Lisa is the person of an affair and she, probably, have not enough time for creation own family. And i do not think she can be sometime happy in her family. On the one hand it's her self-estimation which simply will not allow her to be intimate with the "unworthy" person. From the other hand Lisa's brains constantly require training, it's simply necessary for her to digest the great volume of information. And then she chooses loading corresponding to her abilities, for example, to be the President. Certainly, it is very intense and a tough work combining in of the requirements to erudition of the person, of it's intellectual and mental qualities, abilities to make the correct decisions quickly and to be a stress-stable one. I think because of her work Lisa and cannot receive personal happiness. Or she have to go to any second-grade educational institution to get a job of the waitress or the librarian, to leave early in marriage and to spent the rest of her life in melancholy about she has missed the opportunities of self-realization. That is both in that and other case Lisa will not be happy up to the end. And there's a "hopelessness" for such kind of a person who gifted and have far-reaching ambitions. As for her groom... I think it is Hugh who was and still are the one of the best candidates for that role (in "Simpsons"-universe ) or well, that guy - Thelonius from another school. The other men simply will not appreciate her i fear.

This was (almost) Marge's life, and I always was scared that one day in future Lisa will meet some guy like Homer and give up all her ambitions and activities for playing supporting role. But presidents have families too And remember, in "Lisa Fitzgerald" she became a senator, married and had a son (that's part i like the most). And it's strange to me that Lisa sometimes saying, that she isn't going to marry (like in 18x09), but never mention her position about children (or maybe i just can't remember). She's only 8, but still. When she became a President (and in your fanfic, too) she still needed support, some attention from family and friends. Of course, she has brother and sister, but they can't understand her completely. Maybe it'll be hard to find matching person, but i just can't imagine old Lisa as a person like Crazy Cat Lady or something like that

I think one day that Lisa will find her other half. I'd love for it to be me, but sadly, I know it never will come to pass. Well, at least not in this life. However, I must disagree with Yggdrasill, as I do believe that one day Lisa will meet her true love. But I also don't want to see her turn out as Marge did That would be very sad indeed... but I don't think that her ambitions will stop her from loving someone. Remember when she told Milhouse she didn't plan to get married? It was probably just an easy way of letting him down, but I think at the time she maybe even believed it. And then she so willingly agreed to marry Hugh when she realized that she loved him. The power of love cannot be denied; and if it is love, then all of your plans will stand before it as if a barn before a cyclone.

Well said! ---------------- Today I was looking on male characters from "Classic Quotes" poster and thinking. It was almost like that moment, when Bart and Edna discussed possible partners for Edna But maybe two boys not so bad for Lisa - Martin Prince and Rod Flanders. Of course, Martin is really boring and Rod is very religious and infantile, but they both have good traits too, and maybe as grown-ups they will understand Lisa and become at least friends. And it's very typical plots - rivals or children of such different families, falling in love

brakusaetsyaI think in Martin, Lisa has found more of a rival. However, it is funny that you should mention Rod Flanders... I remember being at my friends house several months ago, and picking up a discarded Simpsons comic book. I'm not into reading these things, but I picked it up and read for the hell of it. I didn't get very far, but basically the story was that Bart had the "Flanders birthmark" and was given to live with the Flanders. The same thing happened to Rod (Simpson birthmark), and he moved in with the Simpsons. Then Lisa discovered she and Rod had a lot in common and enjoyed being around him... although that is as far as I got.

GeorgeHarrisonVery interesting Unfortunately, I've read just 4-5 comic books, and I've never seen this story. I always thought, that Rod and Todd are very, very infantile and kinda crazy, but "Bart has two mommies" episode explains such behavior better, then earlier episodes, and I like Rod now If anyone knows date of this comics or site, when I can view it, I'll be very happy.

I always thought Lisa was honest that moment, really, i.e. that guy exists... but it's also possible that Lisa just told Homer random name. But in any case, someone did exist in her mind that moment, I'm sure in that! Remember Lisa's voice, when she told Homer his name (unsure) and when she continued about his personality (enthusiastic).

I'd say Thelonius was a pretty good match for Lisa seeing as the two of them had so much in common and they really seemed to understand each-other. Didn't he say that they'd meet up in High School? I guess that's one for the fic writers?

DagdamorRemember Lisa's voice, when she told Homer his name (unsure) and when she continued about his personality (enthusiastic). Yep, but also there was a long pause between Homer's question and her answer. Maybe it's just shyness, but maybe she just prepared for lying. When she pronounced this name, her voice sounded a bit unsure, but not as like she was deciding to tell the truth, but as she was making-up it. And she never mentioned him again (like some others boys, but we saw them, not like Alger). I guess that's one for the fic writers? Thelonius' personality was shown not so well as, for example, High's or boys of Springfield Elementary. He just was mentally similar to Lisa, but discover more his strains and make their story interesting - it'll be hard task for fic-writer, I think.

And I think Lisa Igitov has a nice ring to it. Lisa Harrison, or Lisa Igitova...? Actually, it's to be questioned whether or not Lisa would even change her name. Maybe Lisa-*name*-Simpson, but remember the episode "Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy"? "When I get married, I'm keeping my own name".

GeorgeHarrisonWell, she has a very beautiful international name, so it will sound good with every surname, I think. But, like you, I don't think surname question will be important for her fiance or even for adult Lisa. It's just a simple formality. And I don't know, how it happens in USA, but in Russia if you want change you name, you must gather a lot of documents and then wait about 2 months to get a new passport. And judging by Patty & Selma's work, there is a lot of bureaucracy in USA too. So, it's one more little reason to keep maiden name.

brakusaetsyaYeah, personally I like Lisa Simpson better than Lisa Harrison. I'm not sure exactly how much paperwork is involved in the changing of one's surname, having never done it before Although I do know some people, who when married, didn't officially "change" their surname, only did they call themselves by the married surname.
