I never seem to think of my best ideas. Or rather, I start drawing something and end up with something completely different. That I hadn't even considered previously.
There's been lots of winged lisa pics. And I realised a while back, no winged maggies (well, maybe one or two, but far fewer). Clearly this inequality could not be allowed to go on any longer, so I set to drawing a simple winged maggie sticking her tongue out at lisa as she flew past. Nothing much, just a simple sketch. Except I didn't end up drawing what I meant to draw. There was just too much cannon (and even more fannon) that maggie is typically more heavily armed than her sister. Which in this setting implied an anime-style oversized flaming sword. And once I had that it didn't look right unless I made her a bit older, added some sterotypical fantasy/computergame details, and before I knew it I was drawing six wings instead of two...
Anyway: the hair is a complete copy of one of gustavo/CCD's recent pics (I needed to make it stand out from the wings), the armour is somewhat absed on a Spawn character I half remember, the perspective is all wrong and the wings are a mess (I wish I'd redone them now). BUt probably still worth posting.

Yay! Like I said in the chat, the picture is damn impressive and well drawn. Congratulations LOL, the halo and the bowtie seem to match each other... I'll remember that for the future Also nice detail with little wings on her boots (or feet?). Her expression seems to be a bit bored - something like "okay, my patience is over... bend your head" But it doesn't make the picture less original and interesting. Good work with her clothes, too. Of course it was worth posting, at least because of the amount of details. Great pic, I look forward for some colors

Wow! Incredible! Lots of detail, I like that. I love her clothing and position also... and what a huge sword that is!

D.B.Good view you have chosen, impressive sword and impressive legs! The work with her wings I really do like. Generally there is so much details which is always pleasant for me, yet it is just a single-character picture without any drawed background. And what a nice expression!

Yuhuu, all right, Pat is Back! Back in Bl... almost black! This is a greatly interesting take on the "winged Simpsons" theme. I like how careless she looks while handling such a heavy sword, i like all the details of her clothing, and the bare stomach gives her a hint of sexyness. The black tipped hair is something i'm oh so going to steal in my next pic I hope you'll draw more, we all missed your beautiful art

Cheers for the comments peeps I hope you'll draw more, we all missed your beautiful art Ask and it shall be given unto you. Although this is a bit of a weird one. I've been messing around with different kinds of pencils and not letting myself rub anything out. No lisas or maggies in sight, possibly for the better... Think Geiger.

Think Geiger.
You mean "Giger"? This pic is creepy and awesome. It always makes me super happy to see people reaching such artictic heights just "messing around". I won't even comment on the detail of the penciling, the.. ah well, fudge it.

D.B.Wow, that's quite a picture. Creepy, as Marco mentioned... I can't even tell what his body forms into below his torso. The detail is stunning, and it's got an amazing, almost 3D quality to it. Please, keep drawing!

o_O The second picture is scary... But it's very impressive indeed! Seems that radiation is quite an intelligent thing, no? It gives wings to kind person (yeah, remembered Round Robin for no reason), it gives... er, ovipositor to evil one I agree with George, Burns looks very 3D, especially his rear part. Great work with the shading.

Heh! The idea of Mr Burns with an ovipositor is very, very disturbing Fantastic picture though! The quality of the shading is brilliant. You mean "Giger"? Oh I don't know, I think a Geiger-counter might be a good idea in that situation... The Maggie pic is also very impressive. I don't know the character it's based on but the detail of the armour is great and the perspective of the sword works really well. And if you're going to go for wings you may as well really go for it! Sort of a Maggie Tri-plane...

A creepy work and yet almost perfect in execution... What shading! Simply master's hands have left their trace. As for the whole pic at all i must make a remark the anatomy of "body" of Mr. Burns is not clear to end (like he have a back half of body like mantis or some kind of insect), but this is immaterial. Impressive. *esteem*

Sorry Pat, not commented on either pic yet... and I STILL need to find a way of sending 'Killers Are Quiet/DogFish Rising' (Slipknot 95') to you. Havent forgoten, just given up on Email. Anyways, shall we? SeraphmaggieI'm kinda the same, but I start drawing a 'practice' drawing, but when it turns out alright, end up adding a little bit more detail at a time. Eventualy turns into a full blown picture. Looks here like you've done something similar, without using construction lines also. Starting from the top, the halo is a nice touch, which is usualy seen on Lisa pictures. I would have thought she would be a little more happy yeilding a large sword, the angel she is depicted as here, yet her face is bordering on a sad/bored expression. The attention to detail is very complex, perhaps even scary. The shading on her hair looks good, and very appropriate. Was this done in pen? The dark parts of the shading are far contrasting from the lines, which I suspect was done using pen or different shading pencils. The folds in the shirt are another example of this attention to detail. They're not over done, kept within the realms of being a cartoon, with a pinch of realism. The amour is well drawn, however confusing. I'm not used to these old fasion looking amour pictures (and I cant remember the character from Spawn you based it on), so it just seems a little odd. Her head is a little large, reletive to her body, but that could be because she is younger than it seems, even with long legs. Speaking of legs, memories of Marco Maggie's lurk. Very well drawn. Love the way the shin guards are placed, looks very authentic. The sword also looks very cool, the flames give it a sence of power. The wings are well sketched. Messy but, this clearly wasnt supposed to be a masterpeice in the first place. Over all I think its a success. T'is Minted! coolingtower7Cooling Tower 7, does that mean theres more than 1? This is a very interesting picture. The way you've shaded his hair is fantastic, and gives him a more real figure. In fact, I love the realism. Mr. Burns has always been a scary looking character. If you ever saw somebody in his demenur, you would be forgiven for thinking you saw a monster. So this is a very true picture for us as human beings. Mr. Burns IS a monster, and here he is shown as a monster in true form. Wow, I'm tired. Anyway. like the others said, very creepy picture, the angle of the drawing just add's to the creepyness. Anyways, very cool picture! Well done!

cheers for all the comments peeps. I've nothing new to post though (and even if i did I've no scanner to post it with. Sorry Pat, not commented on either pic yet... and I STILL need to find a way of sending 'Killers Are Quiet/DogFish Rising' (Slipknot 95') to you. Havent forgoten, just given up on Email. Heh, no probs. I appreciate the others you sent. And the reason for the title (and indeed a lot of the anatomic details people have pointed out) is this picture was very closely based on 'shaft 7', which you might just be able to find somewhere out the on the big old 'net (I've no link unfortunately - I found it in an old fashioned version of the internet refered to as a 'book'. Appauling download availability, but actual transfer was fast and the file was extremely comprehensive. Portable too - I was able to read it no matter what sort of computer I was using at the time!) You mean "Giger"? D'oh! Sort of a Maggie Tri-plane... I like this idea a lot it gives... er, ovipositor to evil one This idea is both very scary and, now I think about it, very fitting given the artist I was imitating.

More scribbly shading . I only hinted at Bart (he ended up too small to do anything else with) and I emssed up the shading on Homer's right arm and forehead (and the spoon) but composition wise I quite like this pic.

D.B.Scary, shocking and nicely drawn picture It's not easy to recognize Bart's body, but even those lines make his head look on-model. Homer's shading is awesome, and both of his arms/hands look alright to me. Overall, it's an interesting drawing and original subject, but too unfinished and messy... comparing to your other pictures, even sketches, this is not a masterpiece, sorry. I like it, but I look forward for more of D.B. power... especially color-wise.

D.B. A cool idea nicely drawn:-) Looks a bit Treehouse-of-Horrorish, and... well... oh, what the hell, it's marvellous:-) Hope to see it in colour some day, though there's something I really like about such rough sketches - maybe they look more natural?

D.B.Hey, not bad at all! Homer is very well drawn, and I can imagine Bart's face's expression, although it's just outlined and messy. I think some more efforts will make this picture really great! Hope to see finished picture, plot is interesting
