It's a nice video, indeed. I wonder what kind of pencils he uses for the coloring...

Look at that hand, lying there
The room is dark, she shows no fear
I'm lying still, my eyes are wide
My heart is pumping, I'm still alive

I'm still awake against my will
What will it ever take
To still this burning in me?

Yes indeed, not bad at all, especially as a total "first take" drawing, with no going back to correct things and no construction lines!   This guy also draws an impressive freehand circle!   Lisa's got an early season look to her and it's interesting to see where he starts from as it's similar to how Matt Groening drew Lisa in one of the "illustrated commentaries" on the Season 7 DVD.   One thing I will say is that the eyelash spacing is wrong but that's a nitpick!

TIPS to the next generations Gigi

Alternatives to fight with Photoshop

one of the main problems to begin the adventure of the drawing is the program to use… since the original MS paint to the veteran Photoshop CS2…. a good beginning (and healthy) is to use freeware software of the GNU project... a great option is “The GIMP” of Linux… (one of my favorites) it has a slow answer nevertheless… but is a great program and a real alternative to photoshop…. enjoy! (and remenber download GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment to your windows version)  Wink

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

_______________________________________________________

after yes your style is free and more dinamic (or you have wacom tablet and a mountaion of imgaination) the alternative is play with the colors and the infinite combinations of the water colors... with security you know Open Canvas1.1...
but try use the 4 version of this program... a lot of filters, layers and the option of work with PSD files....  enjoy again...(remenber change the web site to the english lenguage)

http://www.portalgraphics.net/ja/

note: is a shareware version (only somes days... but download a crack eh Wink)
_______________________________________________________

well..  if your abilities are not the adapted ones to defy to these programs you can try to use TUX PAINT (for young users) is a freeware program, and very entertained… a great option to spend hours of diversion…
(to my is the best option Gigi)… in the effects that you can include in your drawings)

enjoy again.. in special with this small program...

Gustavo
Thanks for posting that info.
Although to me, Photoshop was never a "barrier" between me and a finished drawing. Yes, I suck at shading, but that's not Photoshop problem, and I always draw sketches on paper. So I'm afraid all those programs won't help me much unless I start to learn to draw properly someday, argle! Smile
Also, Photoshop is a great tool for altering the finished drawing/adding different effects to it, and it's not convenient to use one program for drawing a pic, and another one for finishing it.
