My gift to Newborn forum. Happy Birthday, Lisa-simpson.net! :-) And long live to you. The migratory birdie Lisa is come again! With her smile and eternal spiky hair-do. Are you ready to her arrival? Prepare a grain. And by the same time take a look on place where I live. (and my pilose arm :-) ) Pay your attention to a little detail of Lisa's image, hehe! Do you guess what it means?

Wowza!! This picture has so much detail in it, it's astounding. Of course, the cuteness of Lisa as a little bird is in itself something worth a lot of praise, but i am going to stop on all the other details here. Your arm is well done! I know from experience that even having the model just in front of you, it is not enough to make a decent drawing of it if you dont know how to handle perspective.. and you did! Not perfectly, but you did Details, details... details make a picture! The leaf, the window with the somewhat crumpled and grayed out buildings in the back, the dent of the wood in the windowpane, the wood itself and your arm's shadow. It all gives a settign to the picture... a mood of "being home. It's not the best home in the world, but it's my home... and yours if you want ". Lisa's posture is awesome. She really acts like a little bird.. leaning forward with her overbite/beak and keeping her arms just like her wings... congratulations for this idea and its realization. This is truly a masterpic and i'm out of my mind with happyness knowing that you wanted to make it a gift for this new forum... i'm sure Dagdamor will be VERY happy too! Thanks, thanks a lot!

(Marco said it all really.. but I must pay my respects...) Wow... buddy, you got skill with that pencil I have absolutly no idea what the picture means but, I can tell you I think its damn good! Lisa herself isnt perfect, since her eyes and nose are a little out of proportion. But Its a terrific picture in its own right. Awsome, Hope to see more!

I *am* happy! This is a nice gift to the forum The idea is original (yes, I cannot remember a single picture featuring Lisa as a birdie, and Winged Lisa pics are something different to me), and you drew it sweet. I just have no words, this picture is adorable... and the amount of details is impressive. Great work. Heh, I wonder what would she do - will she reach the food with her mouth like all birds do, or will she sit on the edge of your hand, digging in the pile of grains with her hands and happily chewing down the most tasty ones? I'm for the second option, but who know how Lisa should act in this appearance. Welcome Yggdrasill, and thank you for this bit of cuteness! I look forward for more pictures by you.

Thanks everyone for your positive reviews. Very glad to see you like my work. For those who don't understand the hint which I plugged in previous picture I'll say. Can you see the shade from Lisa? Not? What this means? Exactly, Lisa is not material one. And that's very sad... Some of you could be interested by my "overactivity" as artist (such takes place far not every day). But I can quiet you, that in future I will lay out new works far not so often... So I just can't say to you when I'll be able to lay out such many pictures as now. Well, all of this pics are the absolutely new pics. And all of them I've done when I had some free time and I hope that time was no wasted. Now shortly about my pictures. The first one, named Lisa & Maggie - remake is the remake of my old sketch which I did in spring this year. I know that in photoshop manufacturing this would be more nicely, but still... There's no distinct reason why I don't learn this software to use in more than single "cut\paste\resize\enhance" actions. Someday it will be happen. Gently The second picture is my illustration to "Gently" horror-fic. Maybe some of you read this one and maybe some of you do like this fic as I like it. Lost Our Maggie The next one is variation on a theme: "What would happen, if Maggie had stared to fly to Budapest?" THEM And the last pics - my pride :-) - dedicated to the King Diamond album called "THEM" (1988), which I was obsessed two years ago as well as all the creativity of King (and as you see I am still). Long time I wanted to do something similar and it came true now. Hope you like it despite of that, what NIGHTMARISH fate expects the character of Lisa (actually named Missy) in the story (read "THEM" lyrics for more, you are only necessary to find it in the Web). Thanks for you attention.

YggdrasillWhat this means? Exactly, Lisa is not material one. And that's very sad... True... but if you can see her and even virtually feed her with some grains, things are not so bad. Anyway, back to reality... man, your recent art is SO impressive! Of course the first picture is my favorite (who would've doubt that ). I love the colored version! It's very cheerful, and sweet, and you have chosen probably the best moment from the story. Technically, the picture is very well done too; I love their poses, Maggie's big smile, Lisa's concerned expression... heh, I have no words, only emotions The illustration to the "Gently" fanfic is also very good. I imagined that scene a bit different, but you pictured it nicely. What I like the most here, is Lisa's expression. I just see how she quietly asks Homer to take her to the hospital, being close to lose consciousness... and the dead monster under the bed looks very believable, too (nice monster "design", btw). Again, very good piece of art. I hope D.B. will see it eventually and will like it, it's his story after all. "Lost our Maggie"... cute scene, though a bit scary you apparently have no problems with drawing characters in different poses and from different points of view, and that's good. Worried Marge looks very natural, and Lisa looking under the couch is pictured well. Homer... well, Homer is Homer. The last picture has great shading. I'm at loss for words already, will only say it's surreal and strange... but still Simpsonic. Very interesting work, and very impressive. Keep it up, what else to say?

There's some seriously good pencil shading in those pics, especially in "THEM". "THEM" is a really atmopsheric pic and the distorted perspective really adds to the nightmarish feel. In fact you've done a great job conveying mood and atmosphere in all your pics. Okay, the models and proportions aren't always perfect and like Serge, the way I imagined that scene from "Gently" is different from how you portray it but over-all you've produced some great atmospheric, thought provoking pictures.

laguna skyIf you mean "Gently", then it's a story written by D.B. several years ago. I cannot find it online, and the attachment @ gfwc is lost, so I can only repost it on this forum or send it to you. I'll need author's permission to repost is though. And D.B. is not an easiest person to catch... Anyway, back to the topic. It's a bit disturbing when people start discussing something unrelated in your fanart thread, I should know... Yggdrasill, sorry about that. I'll be good

Hello to all once again. Here a pair of new pictures. First. A Very Sad DayAll of you certainly saw the episode "I, D'oh-bot". This pic is practically taken from there. Autumn LisaWhen I was walking at the street I saw a car that was fully covered by leaves. Such view placed me in a kind of autumn mood. I hope you will share it with me and Lisa/ Thanks for your attention/

Yggdrasill"A Very Sad Day" - Aw, man... I wouldn't call Lisa's pose "creepy", her pose is okay (and drawn very well, too), but her expression worries me... according to the picture, she's close to hysterics. Or already there. I cannot blame her though, especially keeping in mind what's happened outside. Very sad picture, but nicely done. My only nitpick is Lisa's mouth. Marge looks great here - a loving, caring mother like always... and she looks very on-model, too! All in all, it's a nicely done picture, but of course very sorrowful. "Autumn Lisa" - a nice change from the previous picture, mood-wise. Like A.P. said, it looks very natural and sweet. I like it a lot, maybe it's sad too, but it's a different kind of sadness. Lisa feels blue on this pic, and that's not bad to me. Impressive amount of details here, too - my respect for drawing all those leaves. The house and the car looks very believable as well. Great job. P.S. For some weird reason, Imageshack refuses to work for me lately... I've spent 20 minutes trying to load your piccies. Could you please post your pictures as attachments next time? They will load faster for sure... there will be no thumbnails, but imho it's hard to understand what's going on on the picture from the small thumbnail anyway.

I appologise for not replying sooner. Wow! Thats some dandy pencil work Hmm... I'll go over each picture. Sorry if I take up 2-thirds of the internet doing so: Lisa & Maggie -RemakeThis is nice Strange colours, I must say... I dont think I've seen those shades on Simpsons characters before. But I like it Lisa looks like a professional, where as Maggie is just having a blast! Looks like a lotta fun *wonders when its his turn*Gently my mind escapes... to relax in a world of pleasure, ple.... ... Right. The picture! I havent read the script yet, but I have the feeling I am about to. The shading is... mmmmm, extrodinary! I LOVE the way you've got the window set up and the street outside and the light and stuff... its good work I would nit-pick about you not using a ruler, but neither do I Lost Our MaggieHehe!! XD I love Maggies expression Some parts of this picture are off, like Marge. But, hell if I can do that. Bart on the chair while Homer lifts it up is just, simply brilliant. Its perfect characterisation ThemSpooky... wow. The shading again is very good. Lisa looks genuely feared... I dont blame her Bart almost looks bald but, thats due to the shadows. So meh, I'll let you off A Very Sad DayEek.... not again :/ You must be brave to draw a situation like this. Not easy at all to get it right. While the outside looks relativly 2D... to me it makes it look like a photograph in her mind. I dunno, I think I might just be talking out of my arrisen opinion. The inside however, is muy bien! Detail and the 3 dimensional look is very authentic. Ofcourse, Lisa looks imensly upset. And you've done a damn good job of replicating it on paper. Marge looks how I'd envision her in the situation, all around... wheee!!! Thumbs up for me Autumn LisaWow... If those leaves didnt take days I'm sueing me for working slowely. Looks Russian to me The car that is... which is accurate Everything is just so, believeable. You could imagine her sitting there, just taking in the freash air and watching Autumn fall over her street before the cold of Winter... Well, in (what feels like a) conclusion, Keep it up! These are some very nice pictures, and I hope you keep practicing. There is room for improvment but... not that much, if you get what I mean. [Editors note: if this crash's this pathetic punny misserable collage computer, blame anyone who isnt called Matias.]

Oh my oh my, what a bunch of goodness we have here. Yggdrasil, you are a *VERY* talented penciler! Did you follow some school, or is it just personal learning? If it's the latter, i must bow to you, because you have a natural talent that you should nurture and refine. Let me talk of the piccies now... VERY SAD DAY: I really, *really* disliked the subplot of this episode... the start was good, i mean, Lisa losing SnowballII and being honestly heart broken about it was believable and a strong plot. The way the writers handled it... it was just horrible. They toyed with Lisa's feelings and made her act completely unnatural, imo. But anyway, er... the picture: The emotion on Lisa is wonderfully portraied, so much thati can almost hear her wailing. the way she holds her legs and fists together is very touching. Marge is very on model, as Dagdamor said, and good job with the detailing of her dress. Maybe her arms are a bit too thick, just that though. AUTUMN LISA: Oh, i love this one. Autumn is my favourite season of all... the weather, the fallign leaves, the colors, and just the mood of it. It also goes perfectly with the kind of music i love best (walking through a foggy cold riverside, with Opeth's Blackwater's Park blasting in my ears... but i digress) The amount of detail of this picture is amazing, the mood of it is... warm, despite Lisa's wearing a jacket. I feel completely in sinthony with her when i look at this picture, and i wish i could spend hours sittign with her on that car looking at the gentle storm of colors all around us. Really, amazing: a poetic picture that tugs at my most powerful mood strings ^.^ LISA AND MAGGIE FLY: Cute! The redrawing is pretty different from the original, iirc, so i cant say which is better... again, i have to praise your attention and care for details. The clouds are especially impressive.. as are the colors. They're particular, realistic, but still quite "cartoony". It's hard to say, but i wish you did more colored pics GENTLY: This picture is very much like the fic that inspired it. Unsettling, kind of scary, stark, morbidly interesting, original and more of all, damn well done Great white/black contrasts... and very nice background visible through the window. i'll say it again... this pic is perfectly toned iwth the fic it depicts. LOST OUR MAGGIE: Heh heh, congratulations for trying to draw Lisa's overbite from above! I bet it's a real hard challenge... but it was pulled off nicely. As for the pic, it's full of life and details, as always. no dshading, but the linework is encomiable, and all the characters are pretty on model! THEM: I was a *huge* fan of King Diamond though it kind of eebed out in these years, where i changed a bit my musical tastes. My favourites albums from him are still "Abigail" and "The Graveyard", but i like even Them. I admit i never cared too much about the story though, so i can't place well this picture... i sohuld reread the lyrics. What i know is that the picture is astounding. Marge on the weelchair is incredibly well detailed and unsettling, the perspective is a touch of genius, the kind of thing you see in horror movies... the whole atmosphere of the picture is just like his music. Scary, evil, somewhat insane, but beautiful. Lisa in the spotlight is the "missing" piece of the picture that make it gain a whole lot of mood to it. The shading is completely awesome. And congratulations for leaving a KD "cameo" in the picture on the wall. He'd appreciate

It's been long since I saw such improvement in just a few pictures. Your first couple of pictures of this thread all have some slight errors in them, mostly wrong proportions of the characters, but also in term of angles and such. I won't go deeper into that, though.
Now, then. Your two newest pictures, on the other hand, are brilliant in terms of correct drawing, in comparision to the earlier ones. In "A Very Sad Day" both Marge and Lisa look execellent, it's a very difficult scene to draw, but you've managed well. "Autumn Lisa" is another brilliant picture which, in addition to Lisa that looks perfect, shows your skills in drawing buildings and other objects. I'm trying to find things to complain about, but can't. The details of the leaves falling are astounding and the picture in whole brings me to a calm, just by looking at it.
Can't wait to see what else you are going to draw. Thanks for showing these for us.

Foremost I would like to say "thanks" to all who have posted here. Thanks for your opinions people, that's very important for me. Now... ametur_poet
Lisa's pose in the first one is kind of creepy. The second one I really liked; It is very natural It seems to me, I realized that you meant. But I have dared to draw her in such pose, hoping that everyone will understand me correctly. Certainly, it doesn't concern to those who at all does not know who is Lisa. And also what is so special in a scene in drawing. About "naturalism" in the picture - thanks! DagdamorThanks for praises! I'm glad it was pleasant to you. I'll try to please you with my future drawings (I hope that they will appear). Could you please post your pictures as attachments next time? Certainly, there are no problem with it. Next time I will load files onto your server. The matter was not that I wanted that were a thumbnails. Simply I was operated in accord with defined "technology" and did not want to change it. But since there's such occasions... CasperSorry if I take up Take up as much as necessary. I'm always ready to listen the critics at my adress. Especially if it does not contain negative emotions in itself. :-) Lisa looks like a professional, where as Maggie is just having a blast! Looks like a lotta fun Thank you very much on it! I'm very glad, really. I would nit-pick about you not using a ruler Yes, I have no special liking of using the ruler in my drawings. I think it looks awfully in conjunction to the details which drawn by a hand. But it's only an opinion. I'm not going to instruct someone of course. You must be brave to draw a situation like this. Not easy at all to get it right. Oh, yes, that's right. I do understand that she looks so as she about to...(I will not say that :-) ). But people, just dismiss similar ideas. I hope you are higher than it. Eventually the Lisa-fans should not suppose such thoughts (I'm still smiling while typing this message :-) ). SimpRealYggdrasil, you are a *VERY* talented penciler! Did you follow some school, or is it just personal learning? If it's the latter, i must bow to you, because you have a natural talent that you should nurture and refine. I never went to any art school or a hobby group, so I can boldly say that that it is my personal "achievement" ;-) *casts a sidelong look at corresponding thread* Of course thank you that you called this as a talent. They toyed with Lisa's feelings and made her act completely unnatural, imo. Yes, I'm absolutely agree with you. It was very unpleasant to watch when Lisa almost reconciled to destiny to have no cat. And how she suffered... Who will understand those script writers? They will continue to play with our feelings like they do it with Lisa. In order only to show some "ridiculous" situations...That is really not serious relation to the personality of the character and admirers. I feel completely in sinthony with her when i look at this picture, and i wish i could spend hours sittign with her on that car looking at the gentle storm of colors all around us. That's an excellent words, you're just voice my own ideas. Well, the ideas of the majority of us, as I sense. but i wish you did more colored pics I wish that not less than others, but still there is only two colored pics in my assets. I will make an efforts. I was a *huge* fan of King Diamond though it kind of eebed out in these years, where i changed a bit my musical tastes. My favourites albums from him are still "Abigail" and "The Graveyard", but i like even Them. It's very nice to see another KD fan (though in past but still...)! And as well as you, my favourite albums are "THEM", "Graveyard" and "Abigail", though I do love all His albums (less or more). "Abigail" - that's classic! It's out of discussion. "The Graveyard" - is very unusual even for talent of King. There is nothing to compare. And, in my opinion, King has managed to show the secret desire of each human being to find out more about awful dirty acts breaking the rights of little children (you know what I'm speaking about). It's really horrible album. Also I will tell the "Voodoo" album is very pleasant for me too. The music is quite tough, I would to say that it heavyest album of KD. And fresh mystical themes of sorcery which has come from black continent. I'm very glad you like "THEM". :-) Thanks for your message of the impressing size. capaddeThe sight of this guy will pass nothing! Here I see all the faults in my pictures. But in one thing you are wrong. And here it is: I saw such improvement in just a few pictures I'm not SO brilliant artist to increase my skill of drawing in two or similar number of pictures. There's only one trouble with me: laziness to do as my best. That's all. Sometimes I endeavour more, sometimes it less. That's the secret of fast growing of the skill, hehe. ;-) I agree all the items of your remark, especially this one: wrong proportions of the characters...and also angles It is that on what I pay always steadfast attention. Certainly it my fault that I'm in something simply powerless. Well, as Casper said: There is room for improvement and I also add: there is so much room for improvement, that the end of a way is just not visible. Hurray, I'm finished it! That was not too easy.

to very sad day a very sad and sweet drawing… the expression of Smooth is brilliant… mainly in the eyes… a beautiful picture Autumm Lisa that I can say? a drawing that remembers so many things and days to me of Autumn… memory when he was smaller and instead of playing preferred to be watching the street in silence. and to contemplate the movement of a life without return …. memory those days in which it had as much freedom and did not have preoccupations … in where it could live without the preoccupation and the pain… a beautiful drawing! Thanks and Keep Drawing

Gustavo Thanks for a response! Glad to see it was pleasant for you.
My new picture is devoted to King Diamond - again. In particular to their album "Abigail". It is very known in metal society and undoubtedly King's best album. If you do like metal music and still didn't hear anything about it I very much advise you to listen it some day (especially song "Black Horseman" - it simply amazing).
And here's the "Abigail" and "THEM" lyrics, if it's interesting to someone.

That's creepy, strange, bizzare, and awesome. It's an excellently well put-together picture. I like the shading, too.

The last picture is incredible... excellent shading, so many interesting scenes within, great sketching as well... reminds me of Marco's FLWS illustration for some reason, only uncolored. Perfect collage picture, I love it as is - great work! My only nitpick is quite predictable - there's no Lisa on the picture but Maggie the Ghost makes up for that! Keep up the great work, man.

an incredible work … surprises the wealth of the details in the drawing … and the style bizzare of the composition of your drawing…. beautiful… the design of the personages also is good… but it excels the design of Homer …. without a doubt your drawing is a at sight delight. (and no is a draw of Lisa).... ohhh!!! beatiful work...!

... Holy! This is a MASTERPIECE! Wow.... i just relistened to the whole album with this in front of me, gaved me the chills. You really are something, Yggdrasil. Everything is on spot, the characters... Maggie's shape on the stairs is creepy, original, wonderfully drawn! But the architecture.. the architecture!! So many details, the delightful bent perspective of the house and stairs that gives out an INCREDIBLE mood to the whole thing. Heh... i think i might have another "favourite Simpsons pic" ever here. It makes me depart from this world and go into another one whenever i look at it, especially with its music in background. Now, please, do one based on Opeth's "My arms, your Hearse" album and i will pledge my soul to you
