Deal.

Also I did a job today that left me covered in Drywall dust. I was so covered in dust that I would rival Casper Wineburger the world Whitest human being (thanks to Robin Williams for that bit of nonsense)

I think this forum needs a Board that is constantly on FIRE. Just to throw off the noobs.

I guess this is the best thread to post this in, although it's just here because I don't see any other thread devoted to random videos. Tongue

This is just something kind of cool I found that might interest any David Gilmour fans. It's a video time-lapse thing using different guitar work from his career to represent the time period it's from.

0:00-0:10 "Wot's... Uh the Deal" from Obscured by Clouds, 1972.
0:10-0:21 "Echoes" from Meddle, 1971.
0:21-0:33 "Breathe" from Dark Side of the Moon, 1973.
0:33-0:46 "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" from Wish You Were Here, 1975.
0:46-1:03 "Comfortably Numb" from The Wall, 1979.
1:03-1:26 "High Hopes" from The Division Bell, 1994.
1:26-1:55 "High Hopes" from Remember That Night (DVD), 2007 (classical guitar solo).

Look at that hand, lying there
The room is dark, she shows no fear
I'm lying still, my eyes are wide
My heart is pumping, I'm still alive

I'm still awake against my will
What will it ever take
To still this burning in me?

I once poked a hobo with a spatula.

That video sounds awesome, though.

I recently came across a very startling realization today. I was out driving a few soldiers from my Battlion around to various work details today and the passenger in the front seat was my "battle Buddy" as we call them. wherever we go we have to have at least one in case of an emergency. Anyway upon dropping a few soldiers off at a training camp on the base the conversation was switched over to explosives. IED's and such are the most common hazard for a military-men's job. My passenger happened to say something about the fact that he had a bunch of stuff on his jumpdrive about how to build explosives out of soda cans, M16 parts and a few bags of gunpowder and ways of commiting credit card scams.

All this made me realize that today's military is more than just dangerous in battle. The people in my field of Satellite communications are more deadly back at base then we are out on the battlefield with weapons.

So this is the result of two people chatting on YIM in the middle of night, both of whom share a dislike for Colin.

* G.H. looks at Roger.

Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:40:24 AM): Just for the life of me, I can't remember. There's too many damn threads.
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:40:38 AM): in a choice between thelonius and colin as a male lead, i'd burn colin at the stake
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:40:55 AM): I never asked you this, what did you think of the movie?
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:41:08 AM): probably with thelonius' glasses ala the 'Lost' episode
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:41:19 AM): i enjoyed it
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:41:24 AM): mostly
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:41:30 AM): i had a few pet peeves
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:41:35 AM): Like?
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:41:45 AM): colin for instance
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:42:37 AM): a cookie cutter 'im too lazy to write a really interesting character so lets just take all the best attributes we know lisa'll fall for' bastard brain child of mike skully or something
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:42:52 AM): sorry
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:42:57 AM): kinda went into a whole thing there...
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:42:58 AM): Thank you, finally someone agrees with me
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:43:07 AM):
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:43:12 AM): then my work is done
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:43:26 AM): other than him, my pet peeves were minor
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:43:27 AM): In that "Milhouse or Colin" thread everyone was like "AWW DAMN COLIN'S JUST PERFECT"
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:43:48 AM): the term 'overly-utopian
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:43:51 AM): comes to mind
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:44:00 AM): Agreed... just wasn't believable at all.
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:44:08 AM): yes, there is too much of a good thing
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:44:34 AM): it was actually rather sickening to think they thought we'd buy that as a new character
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:44:44 AM): "He's not Bono"
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:44:46 AM): Feh
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:44:49 AM): Pfft
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:44:53 AM): Yeah...
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:45:01 AM): see that episode of south park last year>?
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:45:04 AM): I dunno, the movie was up and down for me
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:45:06 AM): with bono?
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:45:07 AM): I don't watch South park
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:45:16 AM): Seen a few episodes, tried to like it
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:45:18 AM): Just couldn't
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:45:30 AM): my neighbor downstairs loves that show
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:45:37 AM): moved to iowa from denver
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:45:48 AM): i offered him a handgun.... but no go
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:46:07 AM): but anyways
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:46:08 AM): *nods slowly* Uh-huh...
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:46:20 AM): heh, i told you i was in an odd mood
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:46:27 AM): Hehe, apparently
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:46:34 AM): of course im kidding  or am i?
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:46:44 AM): If you weren't, I would've taken it
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:46:49 AM): If it had been offered to me
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:46:53 AM): the episode boiled down to stans dad trying to take the worlds biggest crap
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:47:07 AM): then finding out that bono was the current record holder
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:47:12 AM): or rather
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:47:16 AM): the current record
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:47:27 AM): the running gag was
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:47:54 AM): "Don't call me #2! I'm always #1 I can never be #2!"
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:48:17 AM): mildly amusing, for what it's worth
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:48:25 AM): Yeah heh
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:48:45 AM): dear god did we just have a 15 minute conversation comparing (distantly) the character of colin to a gigantic pile of shit?
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:48:55 AM): i approve
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:48:57 AM): Yeah
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:49:01 AM): As do I!
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:49:04 AM): Maybe we should
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:49:05 AM): You know
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:49:09 AM): Post this
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:49:14 AM): kill the president?
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:49:15 AM): oh
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:49:19 AM): that...
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:49:20 AM): heh
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:49:27 AM): Would be outrageous
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:49:41 AM): if you wanna, go nuts
Adam Duarte (9/1/2008 12:49:49 AM): Random Thoughts thread maybe?
rizza1718 (9/1/2008 12:49:56 AM): yesh

I'll only say this:
Waking up after 1 hour of sleep to expell 3 cans of generic substitute Mt. Dew at 3:00 in the morning (timezone differences) does strange things to inhibitions...

A quote from one of my favourites movies (don't know if it's just used there from somewhere else, but that's where i first heard it):

"Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you cry alone."

Well, it's not exactly true, as in there will always be, hopefully, some person that shares everything with you, both good and bad. But still...

Another "I don't know where to put this video so I'll use this thread" post. Tongue

For those of you here who are Pink Floyd fans and more specifically fans of the album The Wall, this is worth checking out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvgBxK3tCfU&feature=related

It's an early demo version of Comfortably Numb, before Roger changed the song structure and the lyrics. It sounds very different and yet very similar. The solo is interesting to listen to, Gilmour used a lot more treble and a lot less sustain than on the finished product. Not a bad sound, but I'm glad the song and the solo were changed.

And, just get this http://s10.directupload.net/file/d/1653/fiv882bi_jpg.htm. I know it isn't handmade, but even if it's made heartless dosn't mean it hasn't heart at all - I give it one piece...  Big Grin

G.H.
Argle, another Colin-hater Unsure I wonder why some many people don't see anything good in this character.
I would understand that if he did anything bad to Lisa in the Movie, but everything he did, was under the "plus" sign...
I wouldn't think much about that character being decent or not, I would just trust Lisa's decision. I would also respect the guy who saw nice and intelligent girl in Lisa, saw a related soul, did something that nobody else in Springfield can do. Milhouse? Remember what Lisa said about Milhouse: "I like him, he's like a sister to me." And if she liked Colin, she has her reasons... I don't want to start another flamewar, just a random thought I wanted to post here.
