Yet another provocative thread from Dagmador ( here is the previous one), but this should be asked IMHO. This forum has rather many drawings featuring Lisa with wings. Why so? Simple, because some of us like Lisa to the degree of considering her an angel-like creature, and wings are the necessary part of that image. Wings also make Lisa look extremely cute - I guess we'll all agree here. Wings are also the symbol of freedom and kindness, which can be said about her too. And finally - we saw winged Lisa several times in the show. Now that I finished defending the issue, I'd like to hear your opinions. Should we not bother ourselves about how right or wrong this is and keep drawing what we like - or maybe we should fall back a bit with it and stick to the "canonical" version of Lisa more? Personally, I'm always happy to see any new picture with feathered Lis - but how sane my point of view is?

Well, from an objective point of view, it's probably "insane", but hey, it's fanart after all, and who says that fanart should be canonical as well? I think the vast majority of Lisa pics is cute, with or without wings, but that might be my very own subjective view of things, having some kind of crush on her. It is important, that you, the artist, like your pic, and if it pleases others, even better!

Why do people draw Lisa with wings? I don't know, it just happens. We've seen it happen so many times now: most artists who start drawing Lisa will eventually draw her with wings. Even if it's just once. It's like nature intended it to be this way. I like the winged Lisa pics. Most of the time they're really cute and well done (probably because these pictures are drawn after the artist has gotten some experience from drawing "normal" Lisa. *gets slapped*). Too bad we don't see many new winged Lisa pics these days... AndreasLisa also had wings in a few episodes, so winged Lisa could be canonical.

I'm not tired of the subject at all. I still think it's a cute and fun way to draw Lisa.

To be honest, when I came here I had no idea what a winged Lisa was But I've been looking at some galleries and seen some fan-art, read some things, to kind of get the feeling that it's sort of on the list of regular things here There's nothing wrong with that though, I think its a very unique idea that I've never seen anywhere else. It's not your average canon-Lisa, but it's very symbolic and represents her personality well I think So, even though I haven't been around very long, I'll go ahead and say that no, I don't think you should cut back on it at all.

I always kind of liked the concept of winged Lisa. When I was new on this forum, I was impressed with the winged Lisa pictures. And not to say that I'm not anymore, but I've certainly grown more used to them. I wouldn't discourage anyone from drawing anything that they felt like. And I know winged Lisa means a lot to some people, so why stop drawing her?
It's a beautiful concept, I think there should be many more drawings of her this way throughout the internet.

Much depends on the person and the vision of her ... For those who do not have a "special and cosmic connection" with Lisa feel bored with this type of drawings ... I always draw at Lisa with wings that it represents an innocence that I lost ... I look at this as an ideal girl (in every aspect) and try to raise the level of "goddess" unwittingly ... To a fan, lover or other type of "lisa friend" the wings are special and beatiful... "tired? ... why?.... her face is very cute"

Quite quickly said, the answer is: No. Because, simply, winged is an "attribute" that works for Lisa in so many ways, from the more down-to-earth prettyness and cuteness, to the more philosophical meaning of either "angel on earth" or, as i better like to see it, girl with a gift that's both a blessing and a damnation (since in my previous works and in Steve's fic, Lisa was unable to use them for flying, they were a big nuisance. Also, wings are a symbol of her inner freedom of mind. So no, i'll never grow tired of winged Lisas as much as i can get tired of Lisa pictures at all: because it's a symbolism that goes very well with her character.

Not me. Lets just think of Bart with devil wings and tail which is so much portrayed in the comics or in halloween episodes. Flanders also goes better with devil tail and wings, why you must say when he is so religiuos and all. I think it contracts his hidden character and we love to see that. Lisas hidden character or not so hidden is that one of an angel or an Eistein type person, just like Bart a devil or a monster. Maggie will go like a witch or a bettle. Marge as a cat or a robot, and homer as flubber or the blob. Burns as a mosquito or the grinch. The list can go on and on.

Over the time many of the characters in The Simpsons has been metamorphosed into many things. Which sort of makes it “legal” to make that kind of changes to fan art and grabpicks? Even i had my try at it once. (After making a winged Bart. ) I think it can be a great way of introducing some new artistic elements in the fan art. And many of the drawings I have seen here are just great. So I say; keep them coming. But stop if there is nothing new in them.

Oh dear God... *imagines Lisa with bandaged back and Spider-Pig chewing down her wings* Jokes aside, I'm glad that the subject doesn't disturb too much people around. Maybe I was just making fuzz out of nothing.

In my opinion, (which at the moment is practically void due to the massive absence of myself recently), is that the mass popularity of the 'winged lisa' image has become somewhat of a mascot on this forum. This is a wonderful thing. Every forum needs a mascot, and I think a winged lisa is a greatly fitting one for this forum and those involved. Although there are those bored with this, look on the bright side, dont get all up in arms about it, at least shes an angel, not a nazi or something, which would be really wierd to see, yet doesnt bear thinking about.
Anyway, the wings part, why wings? Why not ^U^ they are so versatile, and to quote Dags words, are cute too, to emphasise Lisas current sheer velocity of radient cuteness. I love it personally, but will not further draw it ^u^ ones always enough, to those who are not the creator.
^u^ anyway, its nothing to fight over, and is quite pleasant too.
