There are 2 things I really want to work on in 2008 (and beyond): Being less lazy and less shy.

Laziness kills pretty much kills all my free days and time, because I just don't do a thing (everything is taking too much effort these days, even if it takes no effort at all Rolls Eyes) and I'm really starting to hate that. I'm already pretty far with the shyness thing, but I still turn red and can't get a word out when someone who I've haven't known for ages asks something personal or when I don't know what to say back or what I should do.

So there's plenty of stuff for me to work on. Gigi

YOU sure will, Laguna.   We are all going to be waiting for your return.   please send us pictures from your A.I.T.   I know from own experience you wont have a chance to do it from boot camp, just until graduation.  Best wishes!

Suusje, those probably are too things I also really need to work on, I have paralysing shyness, meeting new people is extremely difficult, and makes a chance of romance extremely difficult lol.

I spend my days off frittering away getting up very late, then just sitting around watching tv, browing rubbish on net. ot just further naps lol. I really want to start using my free time wisely, going out, reading, drawing, learning and getting round to actually doing my sites, hell im too lazy to even game anymore lol. If i work on my laziness, it may go some way to helping with my shyness. And that in turn may help me get out of this damn depression I have suffered, especially in the last few months.

Laziness is one of my worst enemies too. I wish there was a cure from it...
I know that being a Lisa fan, I should be more like her when it goes to her best traits, and she's very diligent and self-disciplined. My only excuse is that I understand that and try to be a bit better than my regular self.

I think lazyness is a very common "sickness" between people our age and of our hobbies lately. I suffer from it too, and i can only guess it comes from an over-abundant, and excessive, amount of stimuli. With the drastic invasion of internet in our private life, and then with P2P, we were drowned with stuff to do, to get, to watch, to listen, and we still are. This has made everyday things like taking a walk, talk about nonsense with friends at the pub or even rewatch an old classic movie with the family, almost useless and devoid of any "interest". So we turn to the net, but after all this time, there's little on it that gives us the same experience we had the first years, so we get bored.

At least this is my interpretation... my lazyness is a cosntant ping-pong between all of the possible things i can do at any time, without beign able to focus my mind on any of these. All of this to say that i completely agree with Suusje's and Empethree's promises for the new year. Let's work on it guys Smile

With me laziness is sort of like the initial shock of jumping into cold water. After a while you get used to it, but at first you just want to get out. It's like that with being lazy and starting work; I know I should do it, and at first everything is saying "No! Don't do it!" but after I get settled into working, it comes naturally.

Although some things you've named like taking a walk, or talking/hanging out with friends are things I consider to be meaningless and therefore contribute to my laziness because they don't really accomplish anything that needs to be accomplished... you just do it to enjoy yourself.

Look at that hand, lying there
The room is dark, she shows no fear
I'm lying still, my eyes are wide
My heart is pumping, I'm still alive

I'm still awake against my will
What will it ever take
To still this burning in me?
