He's talking about the different timezones and not being able to be in the chatroom while other people are on. Wink

But that's why we need a meeting time! I think 6PM GMT or 7PM GMT in the weekends could work out for most people. Than it would be 10AM in western America and 12 PM in the part of Russia where Serge lives.

Any other suggestions?

First of all, which kind of chat? We have two: IRC channel (everyone connects with their own programs, like mIRC), and webchat client. If the first one doesn't work, maybe you just joined the chatroom when no-one was there. If the second one, make sure your browser supports Java (it's also called Java Virtual Machine), and you gave it all needed permissions when your browser asked you for them.

I personally could not get the website client to work either, Got all the latest java on my machines an it and on each it comes up with:

"Startup error : java.lang.Error: Unable to load interface pixx : java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: irc.gui.pixx.interface"

I tried it on both my main PCs running Win XP in Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.7, Internet Explorer 6 and Safari for Windows.

On my Apple iMac in Safari and Mozilla it doesnt load just comes up with the java logo.

didnt really play more with it as i used Icechat & mIRC instead

Hm, thanks for reporting... seems that something's really wrong... I guess that's what Cargo wanted to say.
I will be investigating. Here, it works just fine, but maybe I messed with parameters somehow...

Wie hast Du's denn versucht? Mit mIRC, oder ?ber dieses Java-Applet? Mit mIRC sollte es eigentlich problemlos klappen, ggf. auch mit einem anderen Messenger wie Miranda IM.

I checked the Java thing and the code that includes it, in different browsers. Only old version of Mozilla doesn't understand it, more recent one does, and also Operas (all versions) work okay with LTS chatroom. Please ensure Java is installed and enabled on your computer; also ensure you don't use IE where it will work buggy anyway. Tongue If nothing else helps, try using mIRC and Suusje's tutorial of how to use it. Without additional information, I can't figure out what's wrong - dunno, maybe the IRC port (6667) is closed by your provider, in this case, nothing will help.

I mean the chat on this board, when I am clicking on the button just a box appears with an red X on the left side... I am using Internet Explorer 7 for Vista!

Well, where are you guys meeting and chatting often? How do I use this mIRC?!?

Try downloading Java from www.java.com. The chat on the site needs Java runtime to be used. Smile

No wonder it doesn't work. Tongue Okay, jokes aside... you need to have Java installed on your computer. Without it, Internet Explorer will be unable to run the applet. But I still recommend you to use mIRC, because even with Java, it could easily refuse to work in IE.
