I've heard this story talked about a lot, and I figure it's finally time for me to read it for myself. But it's not in our library, could anyone supply me with a working link or download?

El_Barto Much thanks. Odd that it's not in typical format; I've never seen a story posted directly onto a forum, usually it's in a Word attachment or something of the like.

Yeah... Maybe that's why when I scrolled down to the end of the page I couldn't read more. But if that happens to you, remember where you stopped and ask someone else for the link or download. I'll try to look for the download too.

It helps when thats a forum in the first place. I post all fictions on my sites directly with HTML code, and very rarely provide a downloadable for them (some do). If you want a download, I made a quick txt file, and I hope that Graham (if he sees this) wont mind.

A very interesting story, a little bit weird but good. Not as "heart-disruptive" as Gently or Lisa Fitzgerald but enough to attract one on it. At the end I didn't know to be happy or mournful for her...

Ditto here, that is why i think this fic, even if being maybe too out of canon for simpsons, has one of the most awesome endings i ever saw. A mixture of emotions hardly describable.

At the end I didn't know to be happy or mournful for her... Well, I knew that... I cried like a baby when finished reading the fanfic. Sounds stupid, huh? But it's the only story that made me so depressed since many many years. Yes, the ending was very powerful, but I don't know how it's possible to be happy for Lisa after such a conclusion. Maybe that's because I'm an atheist and subconsciously think that any kind of life, even the most suffering one, is still better than death. I still have to add the story to the Library...

I think I wrote about what I think about the story somewhere else (EDIT: in matrixdll's picture topic, for "without sunglasses"). Yes, the end is surprising and surprisingly good. You still have to add many stories to the library...

Yes, the end is surprising but very clever in my opinion: vampires are quite interesting creatures which show that being immortal can be a punishment, not a gift (eternal life, even if it's in heaven, it's something which scares me: it's too long for an human mind I think)! So I can't say that I was happy for Lisa, but I think it was the better end for her . I like many things in this fanfic: the end, the construction of the story (with flashback which explain how Lisa acts in the present) and also the drawing of matrixdll: 'Without Sunglasses' (I discovered the fanfic after seeing this picture) .

Lo?cIt's weird, but that side of being a vampire wasn't often showing in books or movies. If you check any Dracula filming version, if you check movies like Blade, Van Helsing etc - vampires are always shown like quite happy creatures who treat regular people like some "lower kind". They enjoy everyday life, avoid the sun, meet each others, they even create - write books, make investigations etc, and they don't need to hurry themselves In the story, though, Lisa isn't happy because she lost her family and didn't become a vampire by her will. Those feelings were eating her every day, being immortal is bad only when you're completely alone, when you don't have anyone to rely on, and that's how it was with Lisa, she could rely on Mark but she decided not to... and Lisa's future immortal life in heaven is still under a big question, since vampires don't have souls if we believe christian version. So Lisa got in a huge, very depressing life trap she didn't have a single way to escape from, and that's what makes the story so sad IMHO.
