Those are very interesting photos/description, thanks for sharing... and heh, Buran? It was unexpected to see one of them there Smile I can only imagine how they boarded it on the barge without making it fall apart, and how they plan to unship it afterwards...

BUMP!
Been advised I should just post what I'm wanting to say in here Tongue
I'm off to Ireland tomorrow Smile Well, sorta...
Tomorrow evening heading up to Hollyhead in North Wales, staying a night there before catching a ferry the next day to Ireland itself. We'll then stay a night in Dublin then head down South - West for a week where we'll stay in our own cottage in the middle of nowhere Big Grin! Which in a weird way..can't wait for!
My parents had their 25th anniversary earlier this summer and treated themselves to a telescope which we've had a try out of already and is rather good so will be great to stargaze with on our holiday Smile, That is if it doesn't rain tooo much Tongue but here's hoping!

Shall miss quiet a few people...seeing as my phones decided now is a good time to die on me and become unreliable and have less than £3 credit on it...but it's still a nice break away from normal life here in England which I look forward to Smile

So I shall say this now incase I don't get a chance later, I shall also take many photos Smile and try to upload a few good ones ^_^

Bye y'all! Big Grin
Oh and Happy Birthday to anymore birthdays coming up seeing as it's been a very popular time for them Gigi!

Sounds like a nice journey, I will be waiting for you back and for some photos too!
I'm heading for a small "trip" soon too, although it will be just another city.
But the reason is worthy - my sister's wedding Eek Maybe I'll have some photos, too. Smile
Heck, they grow too fast...

Well..I'm back from Ireland Smile (Obviously Tongue)

It's really good to be home and in the next few days I have a LOT to sort out and catch up with, but it's all good Smile Except for my results in 2 days time x_x....that's the only thing I'm not looking forward to >_<

As for Ireland..well...nothing wrong with the country, some beautiful, dramatic scenery, even in the rain. I don't wanna go all "emo" or too deep but can't say my family got on 100% of the time...Sad..however, I'd like to go back to Ireland, probably with a friend or someone special next time...

Firstly, we went to Hollyhead in Wales and stayed a night there to get on the ferry to Ireland the next morning.  Had a one night stay in Dublin..was awesome nightlife, though can't imagen it being everyone's kind of thing...but I enjoyed it Smile Especially the Guinness Gigi Which I never really liked before till I tried it from a pub tap ^_^; The live Irish music and atmosphere was great as well as the food at Temple Bar Smile Guess I was drawn to Temple Bar since it reminded me of Camden in small ways.  My only disappointment was not getting a good look round the goth stores X(

Next day we had a loooong drive down to the South West coast of Ireland and it took the whole day to get to our cottage at Sheeps head peninsular...was awesome!

We were in a great isolated location with a beautiful view and lots of space.  However was 10 miles to town and back or to get anywhere everytime...but it was worth it imo Tongue Unfortunately it did rain a lot but we did have a good sunny day which we found a nice big beach to go to.  Also were able to stargaze that night once back at the cottage since there wasn't any light pollution. Probably my favorite day of the holiday....

Once leaving the cottage,..it went a little downhill...on our way up to the giants causeway we stopped in Galway but got there rather late.  We didn't exactly have any time at all to look round it much.  Saw a bit of the nightlife in trying to find somewhere to eat but we couldn't get parked and had to settle for a fish and chips down the road from the travel lodge..

Took 2 days to get up North to the causeway but, it was rather stunning.  As for if it was worth the stress from traveling and arguing... I don't know...either way, was something my parents had always wanted to do and we got there...once we had our last day up at the North of Ireland at our B&B, we headed home, which took the whole of yesterday....

Guess I could rate the holiday as a 3/4...overall
My only problems was the weather...however it's not like we went to Ireland for the weather Tongue But I do like hot, sunny weather with a light breeze, but we only had that once...otherwise the weather was a bit too changeable for me...>_<
Another problem was being stuck with my family for 11 days which once upon a time wouldn't have been so bad...however, this time round was rather upsetting Confused...
Besides those things, I had a good time and would certainly like to go back to Ireland one day Smile
Oh, and photos to come ^_^

Lovely pictures indeed, the fact that you were in some of them makes them even more lovely-er  Big Grin
Really, Ireland looks like a wonderful place, i'd surely like to visit it sometimes, maybe i will... the weather problems wouldnt bother me (i even like bad weather Tongue ) and i would surely go alone. Sorry to hear about the family mishaps too, but as far as i can tell, the trip was still worth your time.

Welcome back! Smile

those are fantastic pictures there, Ireland looks fantastic....... Ireland is among the places I want to visit, along with Canada & Australia.

I agree with CCD that the garden picture is fantastic.

I am just upgrading my webserver with gallery software and I have started to upload some photos.

The first batch is online:

http://www.ejnmedia.co.uk/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=14

These are from West Wittering, Amberley, Chatham Historic Dockyard and Battle. When I get time I will post pictures from Canterbury, Bluebell Steam Railway and photos from Eastbourne International Airshow (Airbourne 2008).

Also due to the merging of my Dad's business server with mine, I now have a huge amount of webspace. If anyone is interested in space on my gallery, let me know.... as the space is sitting idle at the moment!
