I just saw the rant thread has been moved to Forum Discussion, while the description of Lisa's Family says offtopic threads should go in there. It's getting a tad confusing. Where does what belong? Do we have to post offtopic threads in Lisa's Family or in Forum Discussion?

I am right there with Leon, pretty confused. In the description of the Lisa's Family board, it says "Don't be afraid to create offtopic threads if you want to discuss something." And in the description of Forum Discussion, no mention of offtopic. Yet Syke's Rant Thread was still moved...? Confused I'm pretty lost here.

Maybe if one of the admins could clarify, or if this was just poor judgement, but I for one would like to know Smile That way we can avoid future confusion.

It was me who moved the rant thread here. I'm not sure either about the question, though Embarrassed
Personally, I prefer seeing "public" threads (i.e. Simpsons show, movies, religion, videogames, books etc) in the Family, while seeing "private" threads (i.e. self pics, personal rants, welcome and taking break etc) in the Forum Discussion. Of course both kinds of topics are good equally, nice interesting discussion can raise in any section, so that's not an attempt to "hide something from people". Wink I hope this makes sense.

I suppose that makes sense, although it's still a bit confusing to have two boards with offtopic threads, when it says that only one board is suited to it. It would seem a little odd to have offtopics floating around in both boards.

Maybe you could clarify which boards are specific to which kinds of topics? I know it sounds a bit absurd, but it could really go a long way towards clarification for new members. Smile

You mean, to add that description to the forum home page, to the boards description? I doubt that helps... first, that will make board descriptions too long. Second, not much people read those descriptions anyway Wink and third, we probably have to search for the better solution - like a separate section for all offtopic threads, and leaving Lisa's Family for Simpsons-related discussions and ones that are close to them. Anyway, I'm not sure what's better, I'd like to hear more opinions.
