Oops i missed that liast picture somehow, probably half asleep as usual.

I agree with Sylenne, the last picture should not be taken down. No matter if the mood of the picture is jhappy or sad, it shows the emotion, in my opinion art should.

I respect you a lot for sharing in these pictures, and sharing your feelings, good or bad with us. Some people post about thier problems, some people express it in art, I just hope drawing these and posting here helps you and makes you less sad, boy you do deserve it Smile

About making more happy pictures, don't feel you are pressurised into making then, jsut go with the flow and whatever mood you are in just follow the path Smile

Agreed with Empethree Smile

Art should be a way for you to express your feelings, I think it's wonderful to have that kind of outlet. Some of the greatest music and art out there is inspired by emotions Wink

If being human is the price you must pay to be a good artist ... well, I for one think it's worth it Tongue

Wow, it has been a while,....I apologies for neglecting the sketchbook side of LTS, I even forgot about my own thread yet again Embarrassed
but I'm gonna try to keep more up to date from now Smile, first I better reply *cough*ramble*cough* to your comments!

Yggdrasil - Ahh! the Lisa calender picture! Eep! I really apologies since I haven't done any work on it since Embarrassed, I had a pretty much booked up holiday in December and since I've been back to school I've had a lot of art to do for this deadline in February, but hopefully I will get this done some time!! Anyway, I am glad you liked all the pictures, even the somewhat overly emotional ones, so thank you! ^_^

Sylenne - Now where are you? Haven't seen you around here for a while Sad, but thank you very much for the compliment Smile, I will take on board your advice though and won't take down the picture of Bastet, since It has been a while anyway, thanks again Big Grin

Empethree -Thank you too for the advice Smile I feel better about posting happier pics if I am honest as I don't want to flood LTS with negative ones, but I feel more reassured that you are fine with it if I was to be in one of my less positive moods when drawing.  You're right as to how I express myself through drawing, I tend to show emotion more than storyline though narrative is something I hope to do a bit more in this year myself Smile, Anyway, thanks Tongue

Gustavo - Thanks Gustavo Smile I'm sorry I am so behind in replying to your thread as well because you do have some lovely works of art yourself ^_^ I shall try to get round to doing that asap, sorry for being so behind x_x this applies to all other artists on here too! So much great artwork, so little time! >_<

Anyway,..again, I'm sorry for the lack of Lisa art here as well,...looong story! but I feel like posting something, even if it is offtopic and quite sketchy! (and not very colourful..)

1) Just Bastet, again, but in a more gothic style after I read too many Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics...*which I recommend to all those who like dark humor Tongue*

2)Some random vampire girl I started off drawing in my newish kind of style..then ended up drawing Skinny Jim Smile (Yes, that is his name)

3)Again, another random goth girl, this time I wanted to do a bit more emotion, so I made her sad...also drew a silly doodle of my dog alongside her for no reason Big Grin

sooo yeah that is all for now...hopefully will try to upload proof that I'm busy with school art, a photo of my final piece (which still isn't finished yet! but it shall do Tongue)

Three pictures, all so destructive...
But I liked them, especially the last one - it shows unusual style and like you said, some emotions.
Oh, and you don't have to draw Lisa! Although, I'd appreciate that. :-P
The second pic... I better not to look at it again. Wink Sorry.
The first picture is rather sketchy (and I think Bastet's hind paws should be bigger than front ones), it looks great anyway! Goth Bastet has reminded me of Cheshire Cat from American McGee Alice, they have something in common. Big Grin

These latest three pictures all pretty much revolve around the same concept, so I'll keep it brief. For pencil sketches they're all very well done, if a bit messy. It adds to the overall feeling of the pictures though, which is as Serge put it, somewhat destructive. Well, maybe that's the wrong word, but hell if I know a better way to say it. As always, very gothic looking. Tongue

And it doesn't matter what you draw... Lisa-fanart or off-topic art will both be greeted with the same enthusiasm... or at least, they should be. You flourish most when your mind is abroad and not limited to one concept. And for someone like you, that can mean great things. By no means should you force yourself into anything you don't want to draw simply to please others.

There are plenty original and maybe not so attractives images in your last art. But going in order.
gothic_bastet
The gothic tigress - that's something you should see someday Big Grin Intersting plot though, never thought before tigers can have a fringe. The picture is maybe too rough, though...
skinny_jim_n_vamp_girl_sketch
As it said GeorgeHarrison, the whole idea of the drawings is pretty the same. And it's quite hard to find the soul who will understand you completely, and who loves the things you like too. This one shows your emotions and music feeling, I can only say - that's interesting to see something new and uncommon.
Sad_Goth_Girl
The image of goth-girl is worked out pretty nice, her face is very believable. And a little "erotic" reference is in place here, it shows the author's feeling of beauty of the human body.  Smile Thanks for your art.

Interesting art, Rachel!
I like especially the second picture - you've done the girl very, very good - both her face (awesome eyes) and her outfit. She reminded me of American McGee's Alice.
Other pics are nice too - what a great puppy on the last one! Smile

And it's interesting that you're going to put this in your portfolio... You know, in Russian high schools of arts you have to send only "classical" things in your application - for example realistic portrait with hands or naked figure, or sketches of a real object, but nothing you've made up...

Thank you Bra Big Grin
but yeah stuff like this is acceptable in my portfolio for I'm appyling to degrees in illustration Smile Guess it depends on the courses you do..
We do put classical/life study stuff in too but that's usually school work and the funny thing is so far in the interviews I've been too they've been more interested in the cartoons and stuff I do in my own time Tongue
Guess they're looking for different stuff and a passion for drawing sooo, in my case so it works Smile

another good load of stuff I have missed being away.

I am not myself really into gothic, but saying that I love the 3 pics, both the gothic bastet and the sad goth girl are amazingly well captured. It shows emotion, beauty and both have a cuteness about them mixed in with the overall feel. the goth girl has an attractive face and as Yggdrasill said ,shows a great grasp of the human body. Oh and yes little Jackums is a good touch heh heh) Skinny jim pic is also a complicated but well done pic, a lot going on butstill shows what it is about.

Of all the stuff i have seen, you will have a great portfolio Smile Good luck with that.
