do you have a pirate copy of MS office in you house...?  Sad well is your option.. but in our job is a hard theme, the problems by original licences are a reality to the Pymes and the small companies.  Smile

I know.. exist the  Open office.org project but his style is a bit "square"... but the world in free and big .... and maybe somes old members can remember the old option as star office, word perfect and Lotus Symphony (memories.. awwie)...

the years flies and IBM send this beatiful gift to our work in house or job ... IBM Lotus Symphony 1.0. yeah Lotus to the news generations!  Star

IBM Lotus Simphony is a solid option to create documents, presentantions and spreadsheets!  Smile and I am talking with sincerity, in my free time I install this program in pymes and small companies with good comments (by 0 cents, "only because yes") ^^ ... please chek this ... is 100% freeware!

BE FREE! SMART WORK, (with elegance) ...  Lisa

Thanks Gustavo, I use Openoffice on this PC atm (Office 2002 on PC downstairs). Openoffice is good bu looks clunky. Lotus looks good and is ased on openoffice so should have the same compatability in a much better looking package Smile

I shall add to my downloads list!

@CCD

My mates got one of those 'Diamond' phones, its MUCH better than what I've heard from the iPhone. I'd still have a cheap £20 one though. Smile

Oh, the very first game posted in this thread looks awesomely similar to 'Amoured Core' which is also a brilliant, brilliant game. I'm gunna have a look at it sometime soon. Smile

I have used Sysinternals before. Nice programs for those who know a bit about computers, and want to know about, and control some of the things that is normally regarded as: What they dont know, dont bother them. ;-)
I wasn’t aware of the complete package. Thanks for the tip.

My favorite freeware is naturally Paint.NET. The best freeware image editor and drawing program.

well.. now is moment of talk about a powerful media center in Linux and Windows, his name is E-Lisa Lisa  or Elisa Media Center, maybe the best multimedia program between the distros GNU/LInux but in this moment exist a version to our Ms Windows.

E-Lisa take the control of your pictures, videos, and audio and too the services of the web 2.0 as youtube, flickr, blah blah blah, the GUI of E-Lisa is futurist and maybe this is style to the next generation of applications ... (just think in KDE 4.0 or windows seven, midori, cloud computing,,, er... this are themes to news post .. ouch  Tongue)....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn4iJ0Cp7Gs (video)
http://elisa.fluendo.com/screenshots/ (screenshots)
http://elisa.fluendo.com/home/ (home page)  Smile

ahh... caution do you need a powerful pc to run E-Lisa Lisa , my experiencie says that this program works better in Ubuntu (with 1gb of ram) but in windows do you need 2gb of ram and a cpu of 1.5 ghz , and if is possible a good video card.... anyway this progarm is beatiful and perfect to enjoy your multimedia files.. Love

Enjoy the spirit of the open source in your, windows or gnu/linux .. anyway we are pc's! and with a pc all is possible --- this is the important  Smile

"freeware break" news...  Smile

Well... the time flies in the speed of the internet flies too (in special in japan) .... , do you know the word "cloud computing"...

check this video...
http://vimeo.com/2111337?pg=embed&sec=2111337

The cloud computing in simple words  is our software and services in live in the own web, ... or web apps, or a complete OS in a remote server... is possible but in 5, 10 or 12 years more... but the concept of "cloud computing" is a reality now with services as Gmail, google documents, or airmax, the  midori  project in windows , etc etc etc...... anyways is a theme of "time", the concetion wi-fi is PAST since somes weeks ago with concepts as Wimax in japan and EUA or latinamerica, or the popular 3G or 3.5G in all the world...

a nice example...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qB3GN6KOMk

the next generation of chipset and cpu (by example geo of amd or atom of intel) in combination of low money and the creativity of the human mind , is a simbol of progress... as the  MID's or the nettops.... ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91vFlhzI5rY&feature=related ) they are  portable computers  and a window  at the web services...

....  Smile .. is nice think in the future and a real community dancing in the web,  the future is waiting in the next corner...  Smile

You do? I'm an amateur astronomer as well, and also a board member of the local astronomy club. Smile Worldwide Telescope is a nice program indeed, ideal to "go for a walk" across the sky.
