Maybe I should guess which one Dagdamor picks Wink

I happen to really enjoy watching Family Guy. Its kinda like the 'no mans land' between Simpsons and South Park. I wouldnt say I enjoy it MORE than The Simpsons, but I havent watched an episode which I wish I didnt watch.

I very much doubt it will last anything near the time of The Simpsons, but maybe thats a good thing for people who like and hate it. It wont get boring for me, and it wont give the rest a headache. Tongue So I'm gunna enjoy it while it lasts!

I've watched it and i like it, it has nothign to do with the Simpsons even if it looks like. Its humour is way too much extreme and over the line.

The first seasons especially, they have some hilarious epsides. But it loses me when it focuses too much on Peter's crazy sheananigans or guest star/tv series/movie bashing (unless i hate it too Tongue )
All in all a decent series, but compared to the Simpsons, it's shallow and vulgar. Yese, even if we take the last seasons as comparison Smile

Yeah, me too. I watched it and I like it. Especially when they remember something that has nothing to do with the plot xD

I also watch it and like the episodes...... some people may say they copied the Simpsons... but they have some of the earlier style humour that some of the original Simpsons had.....

I'm going for the "I've watched it and didn't like it" approach... yeah there were a few funny moments, but overall the show just didn't click with me. I think shows like South Park and Family Guy overdo the crude, vulgar humor to the point of immaturity. I get the feeling that the writers for said shows are just a bunch of guys who never grew out of their high school years.

Of course, I'm not here to judge the writers, I'm here to judge their material. So I'll just reiterate what I've already stated: South Park, and Family Guy to a lesser extent, are geared toward the more... how should I say this... "simple minded" folk who revel in crude humor.

Nice argument. But I think more, that the viewers of such shows more or less people who never grew out of their high school years... because when you compare the first season of Family Guy to the later stuff... it seems that the majoritiy of view like this stupid vulgar humor... unfortunatelly...
Turely, the first FG season was much clother to good Simpsons episodes... they where social and very family-kind than later. The writers and producers just saw what the audience like and the give them more... of the crab...

Family Guy is o.k. I never want to miss an episode... but just a view episodes make me to rewatch them... Like "Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows" or "E. Peterbus Unum" ...

I feel like adding my view towards this even though Mat's right here Gigi

Personally, I don't feel I can give an overall view towards Family Guy at this moment in time since,...well..., I've never really watched a whole episode Confused
I've only seen random clips off youtube, some of which made me chuckle a bit and others,..did..er..nothing.
Eg: The fight between Peter and the giant chicken was rather good,..the animation impressed me if I be honest BUT err puke or overly crude humor doesn't do much for me :x...However guess I'm hypocritical in saying that since I really do like South Park ^_^; (However that's more down to the characterisations more than anything...and the movie was awesome Tongue)

Previously, when it first came out I was put off since it looked like The Simpsons and being such a die-hard fan, I immediately came to the conclusion it was just a rip off, however, after a bit more insight into the program, can see that's not entirely true.  The show seems to have a very different feel to it, and a different structure/style.

However, overall still, my preference in these cartoons still remains Simpsons >Futurama >South Park >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Family Guy...but that's only until I've seen more of it to make a more justified conclusion on it Confused Soooo I've voted for the option that suits me most which was "I've not watched it, and it looks bad" Though I'd rather say "I've not watched ENOUGH and I don't feel it's something I could connect with"....So in a way guess I can say I haven't really clicked with it yet either O_o

I think South Park is more... well, more in your face, but immensely more thought provoking and "intelligent" than Family Guy.

Okay last night, Mat and I rented out Season Five box set of Family Guy sooo, have watched two of the disks now and can safely say if it wasn't any good then it wouldn't have been worth all that time Tongue
Sooo...Yeah I'd say after seeing quiet a few episodes now that it isn't all that bad, rather crude in some areas BUT no worse than South Park, so I'd say it's around same level for me now....However think the main reason I can say I like it now is since I've seen more of Stewie Griffen Gigi Cool baby character Big Grin, (but so is Maggie!, ofcourse  Maggie)

Sooo update is now: Simpsons>Futurama>South Park / Family Guy Smile

I wasn't a big fan initially, but having watched some of the episodes when they were recently repeated in the UK, I'm really starting to get into Family Guy!  It's not as good as The Simpsons, but it would have been one heck of a trick if it was!

Some epiodes I can sit through with out shoving a fist through my TV. But I dont think I could sit through a marathon of Family Guy. I would describe Family Guy as The Simpsons On LSD. The theme song is annoying as fuck too.

Family Guy was a staple of my viewing diet for years. But after seeing them in syndication for a while (and DVD, one of the few sets left after my burglary) they are wearing a tad thin.
Nowhere near the staying power of the Simpsons in it's classic years!

Ahhh... 'Bart of Darkness', that's better!

Actually I've started enjoying American Dad recently. Maybe because the main comic relief character shares my name. (Roger Wink)
