The topic is about new full-length Futurama movie, Bender's Game. You can download the trailer in good quality here - http://www.futurama.su/_ftp/trailers/BG_Trailer.avi (25 Mb). I've watched it, seems to be very interesting. Quite unusual for Futurama, too, a combination of the sci-fi and fantasy styles, and a parody of the Lord of the Rings as it seems. Recommend you to watch it, it has great moments (the one with unicorn, for example, it was very funny). P.S. No, I'm not going to be a pure Futurama Fan yet But since it's mid-season for the Simpsons right now, why not watch its "sibling" canon.

Ah, the Futurama direct-to-DVD Movies... I am looking forward to the last two as much as I enjoyed the first two. Benders Big Score was a nice new beginning I very much full of laughter. I like storys with crazy time travel. And I loved the part with Bender destroying the city - that what happend while Fry was frozen. Beast With A Billion Backs was even better - I think especially the story was totally awesome. I am allready drawing a much more realistic painting of Yivo - oh, how I like 'shcler' ! :P

CargoOfDarkness You liked the second movie more than the first one? Wow. To me, Beast wasn't too good. Silly plot, awful look of Yivo (a planet-size monster with face looking like it was taken from old cartoons? Excuse me), lots of characterization flaws. I haven't seen Bender's Big Score yet, I really hope it was better than that...

Okay, if you compare Futurama movies by how funny they are, Benders Big Score scores really (because it is a hell lot of more funny). But BWABB has something that is more important than just jokes, jokes, jokes...: A really good idea. And Yivo is, for me, a unprecedented idea - and btw. the largest character in an animated show - and I agree with you, shkle was terrible animated exapt for the tentacles on earth. But I just love the idea of Yivo... so shkle become my favorite Futurama character... on my coming up picture, I promise you, I will give shkler a woderful new design... and not that stupid Groening-styl eye... Benders Big Score has lots of good things, too... scamer aliens, nice space battle, lots of funny bender moments and a nice ending... but sometimes I donīt like the story about copied Fry / Lars and this whale Leloo...

CargoOfDarkness The idea itself is not original at all - it's a plain reference to Bible. Many scenes from the movie were taken from it - for example, the banishment from Yivo's Heaven is a reference to the banishment from Eden's garden. This is one of the reasons why I didn't like BBB - I'm not religious at all, but such silly jokes make me sick.

Sooo... in the bible there is a planet sized monster that trys to mate with all lifeform in our universe Gamma? Well, I guess I have to read this book... ^_^ Many scenes from the movie were taken from it - for example, the banishment from Yivo's Heaven is a reference to the banishment from Eden's garden.
It is a reference - a joke! That what makes it so funny! They did that 1000 times in the Simpsons. Like that time Lisa and Bart build that box fart... pardon, fort... reference to Lord Of The Rings! lol* You just donīt get it. I'm not religious at all, but such silly jokes make me sick.
Me neither... I am almost real anti-christian... and really... christianity has nothing to do with a religon that hails a giant tentacle and wants us to have multiamorouse and genderless relationsships... That is all what christianity forbits as far as I know... I like it! And I like Yivo... great unique idea... And also, the main message in this movie is, that we should not be searching for such a paradiese like "heaven"... because true love comes with true jellousy like Bender said. Sex is a battle and love is a war - as Rammstein says. ^^ Nobody else want to join our interisting conversation?

Well, i cannot say much. Of all the movies i just saw "The Beast with a Million Backs" and i found it rather good, the idea of Yevoh (sp?) was a very fascinating one and the movie just felt like what it should have been, no more than a much longer episode Every character had the right airtime and the right lines, and i was very satisfied at the end of the movie. I'll see if i can see the others soon enough!

Okay, all stuff having nothing to do with Futurama is moved to the Treehouse. Both George and Frank, I won't say anything about your chat since you won't like my words About BBB, one more time. If you saw only that movie (like Marco), I can understand that you liked it, because you have nothing to compare with and after several years of hiatus it can be even impressive. But if you saw BBS, if you saw the trailer of BG I've started this thread with... no, I don't understand. Yivo is a silly parody of the God, Jehovah (even their names are similar), and his attitude towards people was a perverted version of Christian's "God loves everyone" axiom. Aside from that parody, the movie didn't have many original ideas. Like Frank said, they even pictured Yivo in a very poor way; makes me remember about God being pictured in the South Park. About the characterization... do you really think it was decent?

Well, okay, I donīt have that much knowledge about christianity and that Jehovah stuff... meeeh, I like the Yivo idea anyway, no matter where it is from. I sometimes have ideas, too ... and it comes out there where something similar somewhere... okay, I guess the Futurama creator DID used that as an model, that god figure... but could it not be coincidetial? Like my Smart Supergirl is so similar to Hancock? About the characterization... do you really think it was decent?
Lets see: Fry - Foolish and unlucky, trying to find his true love and beeing very gentle... Leela - Rejecting Fry, trying to be rational and reasonable. Bender - Becomeing more and more human - is more human than normal humans... Zap - Trying to mate with Leela ... does it with Amy Amy - Emotional and naiv Professor - Angry, argueing and competitive Kif - Nervouse and lovely, missfortune and revived and bunshes Zap Zoidberg - Being Zoidbergish I like the characterization a lot...

Dagdamor My apologies for letting that get so out of hand, but as you know I'm not one to turn down a chance at debating someone. Keeps the mind sharp. I'm fond of the analogy that the mind is like a blade - constant use keeps you in shape, conditioned.
Again, I can't say much about the movies since I've never seen them, but I'm sure I'd be able to come up with something if someone gave me a summary of the plots.

My knowledge of Futurama characters is quite poor, but yes, every character behaved pretty much like i expected him/her to I give you credit about the Yivo parody being a bit too "blasphemous", and not even disguised. But that might have been one of the reason why i liked that idea so much But this is a thread about the other movie, so i'll keep other impressions for when i'll see the Bender's Game. i didnt even see the trailer yet, to save me the surprise

Even Bender's behavior was, to say at least, strange. He never liked people in the show - in the movie he started caring about them and tried to "save" them (only making the situation worse). I can't say much about his appearance in BBB, because the whole subplot with the Robot League was pointless. :/
