Kasper, my friend, I must admit, on closer inspection, I don't know how she stays there either... :/ I guess we have to imagine that the part where she is sitting isn't able for us to see... Or... something... Well, I didn't pay much attention to those details... Oh well. I'll do better next time. And I didn't pay much attention to the texture on the tree... I guess that, to me, it looked good :/

No need to be disheartened by it, its a fantastic picture! Smile

I say she's kinda leaning back against the tree, giving her balance by friction against the bark, like a cat rubbing against the corner of a sofa. XD

I am also sucker for Lisa and nature pictures, its nice and the pencil version is also very well drawn. This is definatly a big step forward for you man. Smile Loving the water effects too, I still need to figure out how to do that...

Looking forward to your future projects!

Yeah, didn't mean to make a big deal out of it, sorry if I sounded harsh. >_<

I used the same grading method as in LisaCon (the method I always use ^^), and a 7.5 out of 10 means I think it's a really good picture, my comments was just to let you know that it would be excellent (around 8.5/10) in my eyes with those minor problems fixed. Wink For a 9 or 10 out of 10 it would need some more details, but I don't rate any picture that high unless I think it's really amazing.

Kasper
Don't worry, I know you were only pointing out some minor problems. Wink

Gustavo and Casper
Glad you liked. Big Grin I put a lot of effort in it. Choosing the right effects... Colouring took me forever, because using the wand tool on photoshop leaves a thin line of white and when coloured you can easily see it, especially with dark colours and I had to correct it...

Anyway, glad you liked it Big Grin

Oh, and Casper, I used the Ocean Ripple effect on the water. Remember, I worked with Photoshop CS2, but I think that effect exists in other versions of Photoshop.

Perfect Harmony Coloured

Wow... what a great progression..... i like it........ It is not the best technically done drawing but it conveys the feeling and mood of the scene perfectly, which is all that matters. The little squirrel  poking his head out is extremely cute and Lisa's expression gives the mood of peace and serenity, just looking at the picture and imagining it makes me feel relaxed. Although the wood has the wrong texture I actually like it, it seems glittery and dreamy in a way.

You have done an excellent job there, really looking forward to more.

As for photoshop you can actually set the selected area to overlap, so it lessens the white edges. Been a little while to remember what the tool is called as not used photoshop in a coupl of months, need to re-install after a hard drive gave up.

Hope you have lots of fun trying out textures and stuff in photoshop as i have had Smile

I don't believe I've commented on your art yet Embarrassed and I'm sorry x_X
Overall, looked through your work and you're not a bad artist at all Smile You have potential and I can see improvements in your sketches/digital work, through each one Smile

I also like how you've given the drawings some background and depth and have surrounded your characters with natural objects Smile
Pretty and pleasing to the eye Big Grin

Nice work dude Smile

Don't worry abou that Wink Better late than never, that's what I say Big Grin

Anyway, thanks Smile

Now, I'm working on two more pics. The sketch of my first pic is done. Only colour is needed. But I haven't started the second one yet. Oh well... In my opinion, the first of the two pics I will post here, is the worst x_x And you'll see why I say this... (I don't know why I'm saying this if I haven't started the second pic yet. -.-')

2/3 more days, and I've finished the pics.

Thanks again Smile

Don't think I forgot about you Wink Thanks. If you could remember the name of that tool, you would save me time in colouring Rolls Eyes I'm kidding, I'm kidding Gigi I like a little more work. In the end, it makes me feel good about what I drew and coloured Big Grin

Great title for "Perfect Harmony" Smile it makes the picture even better... although it has its advantages anyway. I like the idea, and bright colors you've chosen. Lisa's pose doesn't look natural, but only because her right foot is slipping off the tree, if you moved Lisa a bit to the left, it would have looked alright. Nice facial expression, I like it. Good job with lights and shadows! I still haven't learned to do the same well Tongue The texture you used for the tree looks too "small" and "regular", i.e. if you enlarged it somehow and also stretched vertically, it could help. I hope my explanations make sense!

Hey people.

I have two more sketches to share with everyone. The first one I think is good, and features the Simpsons newest pet: Mr. Squashable, I know his eyes give the idea of the chipmunk being a girl, but I repeat, it's a he Tongue The second is a bit bad x_x But now let's focus on the first one.

Here it is:

And the second one. Now, I know it's a little bad, and when I say a little, I want to say: a lot. But I think Homer turned out rather nicely.

Here it is:

P.S.: No coloured versions today, tonight's my prom night so I can't colour them x_x I'll get to it tomorrow.

Dagdamor
Thanks Smile Your explanation makes a lot of sense. But, like I said previously, the texture on the tree looked good in my opinion :/ Oh well, I'll keep your explanation in mind Big Grin Glad you liked it.

^-^ Mr. Squashable's looking great wearing a hoodie. Nothing to complain about, very cute pic, perhaps his left foot is a bit smaller than the right one, but you don't really notice it unless you pay attention to it.

As for the second pic, I don't think it looks bad at all, seems you're making progress with drawing different perspectives actually. The most noticeable things are 1. Lenny's head is a little bit mushed together 2. The extended overbites, but you do that in all your pictures, and I think you should keep drawing it like that. As for the motif, I think it's actually kinda interesting, there's a sort of sincerity in Homer's expression, something rarely (if ever) seen in the show. Even if we've seen him sad a few times, this is much heavier.

about Mr. Squashable  Smile

hey!!!  really improved your skill to translate expressions ... need to take more energy and continue ... you have talent ...

the  model (is this pic) of this character is a little stretched .. however facial expressions are the best point.

good work! Mr "El Barto"  ^-^

El_Barto, about your last picture with Homer, the only glaring problem i see with it is a perspective nature, since the angle the car has is a bit weird in respect with the background, but it's really nothing that matters in such picture. It could even have a "introspective" meaning.
As for what happens in there, i like it... i liked your writing on the right and representing the things Homer's thinking to in thought bubbles. Despite the little space available, you did a good job in making all the characters look aliek their official art, especially good work done on Homer, Lenny and Carl. Maybe Marge has a too big overbite, but that's just me. Smile

It's a very delicate and emotional picture, congratulations!

OK those last 2 are a HUGE improvement. Nice to see how people progress in thier drawings......

Mr Squashable is adorable, looks great in the hoodie, and the pose gives him attitude too. The eyes are fantastically drawn, even down to a shine in them. Needs a tiny bit of work on proportions, one foot bigger than other.... but I only noticed that when looking again at the picture. Could easily be rectified by fleshing out the right hand 2 of his "toes" on his left paw (right in picture).

Ok the second picture.... Another fantastic one. The expressions are spot on. Moe is drawn very well as is marge. As Kasper said, Lenny looks a bit squashed into the thought bubble but otherwise is also well drawn. Car is less well drawn BUT this focuses interest on the higher detail and effort of the characters more in my opinion, so is good. Homer has a couple of minor proportion problems, his neck looks a tad too thick and his body too small (a mistake I always make myself in drawing). But gotta say overall the picture, and the wording on it make this one of your best.

Would love to see both in colour.

Anyway, that tool i was saying in the previous post, when selecting an area to colour, I use the "Refine Edge" button on the top menu, need to play about to get things right bith the radious, feather ect and and not overdo it, especially on thin outlines. If someone has a better way of doing it I may be doing the totally wrong thing myself (i am a relitive newbie ot Photoshop), but this has worked for me!

Thank you to everyone Wink It's great to know that the time I spent drawing these was worth it.

Now...

SimpReal
The car didn't turn the way I wanted it x_x When I'm drawing something, things don't turn the way I really want them. Oh well, it's close to what I wanted anyway Smile Carl's head is a little small comparing to Lenny's head and Moe's head. Glad you liked the pic overall Smile

Kasper
I think Mr. Squashable's eyes are the best thing in the pic xD Yeah, you're right his left foot is smaller, but I didn't even notice that aswell xD I only noticed that when I was hosting the pic. Glad you liked both pics Smile

CCD!
Nothing to say here, just glad you liked Mr. Squashable Smile

Empethree
The same for the foot thingy applies here xD I agree that Lenny is a bit smashed against the bubble... (I should've made the bubble bigger >_< Oh well...)
Anyway, I'll colour them tomorrow. Today I was busy all afternoon, and yesterday I had to go to my school's prom. Anyway, glad you liked both pics Smile
