I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies...

This will be another simpsons fanwork anthology webcollection. This site has the basics, yes, such as fanart or fanfics, but then it stretches far beyond that. It will also include more bizzare things such as fan animations, fan sculptures, fan origami, and anything else fans of the simpsons can make! It will follow a member gallery-based system like SR [All respects to Marco and Serge for this idea, no offense, I just thought this would be a good idea.] Anyway, I'm looking for people to submit fanworks to the site now, as I only have 1 gallery so far.

I believe you meant the website in your profile, but to put the link here to clarify our doubts would be nice. Smile
Interesting idea anyway. I doubt there are many Simpsons sculptures around... but it could work if executed nicely. For example, to allow visitors to register and to create their own galleries, like DeviantArt does.

Ah. So it's some kind of a proposal, eh? Wink
I don't know... I wouldn't create a topic just to tell people about my plans, but if you need opinions/suggestions about your idea, that's okay I guess. You realize that won't be easy, right? You need a decent hosting, a good CMS which will be able to take all technical job of your project, you need a decent design, and the most important thing, you need an audience - at least 10 people appreciating your idea and needing a place to post their fanart/fanfiction.

I once wanted to create a site that will be a central for all Simpsons fanworks in the Russian segment of Internet. (I still want to do that, just having strong problems with the free time. Sad) It's easier here because we still don't have any similar projects, believe or not - but it will be much harder for the English-speaking kind of project, because of already existing sites like SR, DA, FF.net and others. Probably you have to think of something unique for your project, something that will be there and only there and will be interesting and useful, to make your plans more viable.

Hmm... you've got a point there. Well, I guess then there's no use for SFC. SR's already done something similar, and they're the best at it. I had a few other ideas for sites that are almost completed, but in retrospect, they were stupid ideas, as well. "Sigh" I'll try and think of something. I forgot to see what's already out there before making my site. Sorry. I'll try again with another site if I get another idea. "Sigh". Sad

AP, i'm no expert in this field, but i guess that yes, Serge is right, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt at least try.

The fact is, you must be prepared to face a delusion, because of all the reasons mentioned by Serge in his post. There are already so many sites around by so much time, that it has become INCREDIBLY hard to stand out. If you feel the need and you definitely want to crate such a site, by any means go ahead, but as i said before... don't expect immediate and total recognition. The Simpsons fansite world has become huge and bloated.
