By the way, Marco, about the separation of boards... I understand that you wanted to shift off-topic mostly to "The Treehouse" board? If you do, I suggest taking everything that is not Simpsons related and moving it there. Threads like Instrumental Music, Humor, and other various off-topics, including birthday threads and anything else members may have posted. Also you'd want to modify the board description so that it correctly reflects the content of that board. Otherwise, it looks like "Lisa's Family" is still a place for off-topic... |

I know i know... i have to get on it. i forgot to do it today, but that is in my to-do list
Thanks to Gazmanafac's suggestion, i think i managed to move the bulk of threads in the treehouse. I might have missed things in my sleepyness, so i pray Dagdamor, if he still sees some topics out of places, to move them.

 Today back at home i was greeted by two little green mails... two tickets for breaking a traffic law here in Verona. But what makes me mad is something else. I'll try to explain. There are some very little streets in Verona, especially in the center (Verona is basically a city built around an ancient, roman-like structure in the very center). Those streets were recently (one year ago) made "off limits" for vehicles, excepts for residents or other "allowed" people. Normal people could drive through these streets only in limited hours of the day. So, i was fined for that... one day i was in the city for assisting an architect that had office in the center of Verona so after work i went there. The traffic was a complete mess and to find a parking slot i was forced to go thtough one of those streets twice. I was so busy finding a place and avoiding traffic that i didn't notice, if there was one, the sign that warned about the off limit street. So today i get the TWO tickets (since i was photographed by the hidden cameras in the street twice, in 4 minutes. one ticket is at 19.06, other is at 19.10), of 80 euros each, making a whopping total of 160E.  All that to make an assistance that got me 20E at most (and i cant blame the guy either). But the funny stuff has still to come... The day i did that was 12 October 2007!! It took more than four months to deliver the tickets to me! And how can i know how many times i went through those streets in four months?! ARRGH, just thinking about it... i know i've been avoiding them when i saw them , but honestly i didnt pay ALWAYs a lot of attention. What if i nthe next months i get another 10 tickets like this?  I also know it's my fault for breakign a rule but goddamnit, let me know a week after so i'll pay more attention, not 4 months later! my house is like 10 kilometers away from the city hall! Argh argh argh... By bye hard earned money... and just yesterday i was happy cause i got it by selling the pc. Worked all for nothing... * SimpReal is depressed and wants to blow up stuff

Boy, that truly sucks... Did you go though that street into the same direction twice, by driving around the block, or was it once when you entered and once when you left that street? And how do they know who is allowed in there and who's not? By checking the license plates? I would imagine that you're allowed to use those streets if you deliver something, or have some business to do there, maybe you could go to said architect and ask him if he could verify that you had an appointment with him? I don't know about Italian law, but at least here in Germany you have the right to object to the fines if you go there or write them within a month. Personally, I'd try to do that...

Already asked, there is no business justification for that kind of thing because my business wasn't "legal". i just went there as a "friend" to do somethign and get money in hand, not regulamented by a contract or anything. And aside this, i should've warned the competing authorities BEFORE, so to get a temporary pass. Yes, they check the licence plates photographed with the camera. I must pay, no way out. I can just lament the big time they had to send me the tickets but they took 120 days ant he legal limit is 150 :\ Only thing i could have done is avoid those streets at all. After all the blame is on me. |

SimpRealMan this sounds really weird. That your Italian laws with prohibition of moving the streets two times is complete delirium... In our country you simply sit the car and wait a hour, two, three or more in a common traffic  until it comes lessen. Still they do their own benefit delaying the tickets. Now as I understanded you have only a month to pay, right? So, you must hurry with your pay and probably wouldn't forget your debt. The laws become more and more absurd out there.

It's my turn, again... I'm just feeling rather pissed off with myself for not knowing what to do.. Yeah sounds stupid I know, but I'm stressed from not just school, but life in general! I feel like life and people around me, are pushing me in one direction I DON'T want to go down Some may know what I'm kinda on about but I'd rather not go too deep into it... Sometimes I just wish I knew what I could do to make life go back to being how it SHOULD be right now, but it isn't, it's f**ked up for no real reason... probably partially my fault, but I guess I'm one of those people who is too impatient to do nothing and let time play its part in mending things... People are telling me to do "whats best for me",..hah, I have no clue, whichever option I choose it will either have a good or bad outcome and you can't always be certain which outcome it is likely to be cos life is unpredictable...you can't just assume if you do something that may sound like the best option that it will turn out for the best... Just wish I could go into some sort of deep sleep for 3 weeks or so... Sorry for the ambiguous rant but not sure how else to put forward my emotions as they're so mixed up |

Black_ravenAw... I wish I could help. But nothing comes to my mind, except for if you want to sleep, why not do that. Not literally of course, but take a break/vacation once you have the possibility, go to the village or whatever you people have there, in Britain and have a good rest from this life's routine. Sleep 12 hours per day, read books, do whatever you like and don't even think about things that make you feel bad. Every person has a right to have a break... *apologies for stupid words and hugs*
