About the video though, it's funny, though I don't think it's all true. Sinkhole of support is great though...
From personal experience, the biggest problem with Vista is that you need to know your way around a PC and how to find a workaround for every problem. I can do that, but it's time consuming to get everything up and running, and the casual user probably won't ever get everything running at 100%.
I got Vista with my new PC, in the end I gave up on it and rolled back to Windows XP, because of the following: It was really slow sometimes, I have no idea whether this was some driver issue or not, but games worked at normal speeds, so I figured it was Vista's fault...
Second off, the drivers for Creative's X-Fi series are completely messed up, I can't use it together with the entertainment center or any of the features that comes with the card and the sound quality is kinda messed up. Also, in order to get hardware accelerated sound in alot of games I had to use a program called ALchemy which just plain didn't work the way it was supposed to. Top it off with the fact that I'd always run into problems with any of me audio/music related programs, I just simply gave up on it... it had alot of other issues, yeah, but once everything was properly configured it wasn't that bad. If Creative would get off their ass and do something then maybe I'd consider using it, but here we are!

Despite owning a Vista and not having too much trouble with it (Though theres times its frustrating but I get that with ANY computer..)
I found that quite funny , some bits weren't true though..not for me anyway..
Maybe I'm just not fussy but I've had this computer since April after my 98 died, and it has only crashed once as far as I can remember...O_o
I also find it pretty fast...though others who have used it have told me it's slow...
I can only guess its cos the XP we have is so messed up (I blame the stuff that comes along with my brothers games), the XP is just painfully slow now...and has been for a long time

Anyway, I'm rambling...overall I don't mind Vista, even though I swore I'd never get one, kinda didn't have much of a choice, and so far it works for my needs. There's only one thing that annoys me on end, and thats the pop ups asking for permission for EVERY thing x_x (The vid was definitely right about that )

I'll admit (again) that when I bought my new laptop (the one I'm on now ) I was intending to downgrade to XP using my disc that I had to buy to repair my old laptop (which my two year old nephew has since destroyed). But I gave Vista a chance, mostly because I wasn't sure if there were XP compatible drivers.

But Vista has grown on me. It may use a lot of CPU but still, I like it, its mostly the graphical touches that do it for me. I got too used to the collapsing into the taskbar when using Aero.

Vista executed things at pretty much the same speeds as in XP... except it slowed down horribly when trying to do multitasking. And maybe some games were still a bit slowed down, but it made progress there. Visuals are good, but unless they've made some radical changes the past half year it's still a mess getting everything together smoothly enough to make it worth the visuals. And I'm lucky enough to have no real hardware issues since all my hardware is Vista certified, though audio reproduction for the X-Fi cards is still way off... way to go with those drivers Creative. x_X
Macs are great, but they don't have all the software compatibility that I want. Superior workstations I guess, but even there it fails me at one point or another. ;(
Linux may be a bit more advanced, driver support isn't always there, and I'm pretty sure not all software is fully compatible with it. For the advanced user (and as servers) it may be the optimal OS.

Yay for Windows XP. May be inferior in some regards, but for the casual gamer/musician/photographer/student/moron like me it's the perfect middleground. ^-^
