Lisa is a star! :)

I know I am new here and have not made many posts yet, but finding this place has inspired me to get into drawing again.

I done a few drawings in the last few days and finished one up Friday night. Yesterday my Dad sadly died a sudden death. Shocked us all and after he went I ended up not knowing what to do with myself. Sitting around would of made me deeply upset and probably woulnt of slidden out of depression anytime soon.

I came online to gather my thoughts and notify a few people, and one of the sites i visited was this site. I forgot I left myself logged in to the chat room and had a chat with Dagdamor. I came upon an idea of putting my newly found interest in drawing and Lisa and thought I would make a tribute to my father. And tonight instead of sitting around crying I made that picture a reality, and I hope it will help me say goodbye to my father.

I would love to dearly thank Dagdamor for helping me with some suggestions and being someone to chat to at this difficult time. Also thanks to Suusje for sending me info to improve my technique and making this possible.

I wanted something to express my emotion and thoughts. i feel it does. The light column expresses my father passing to heaven, hopefully giving lisa (and me) comfort at the same time.

So here it is:

Thank you all for making this community great, i am so glad I found you all Smile

All I could say I already said in the chat, I'm still so sorry about what's happened Sad
Like Lisa did once, honoring Murphy with music, you did by making this picture. It was a good decision IMHO, to turn your emotions into nice piece of art. And your picture turned out very good.

Wow, man... I'm really sorry to hear that. Sad It's tough to deal with loss... especially one so recent...

Your picture is an honor and testament to his memory though. I'm sure he would be proud to know that his son has not forgotten the face of his father.

Reminds me of the Eric Clapton song, "My Father's Eyes"... I hope you'll be all right, man. If you ever want to chat about anything, georgeharrison8822000 is my YIM screen name, and you can also reach me on GIM (davidgilmour882) and Skype (mccartney882).

Heh, you dont pay for the mIRC GH.

Sorry to hear about what has been going on with you. I remember that feeling all too well. I still look back and think about both my parents, for the short time that I had them. If you need some moral support (besides what everyone else has given) feel free to YIM me. zekeprower (YIM)

Thanks for the replies, I cannot sleep so i am still bouncing between web,

no need to pay to use chat. mIRC only nags you at startup but remains fully functional, but looks a bit clunky. I use icechat on this machine (use a customised version of IRC on main machine for chat servers) Icechat is free and v.easy to use, moreso than mIRC, and the interface looks prettier and less dated as mIRC (without customisations does)

Empethree, words at a time like this can only do so much to ease your pain, but sometimes it's good to even just know that people is caring for your loss. I send you a virtual hug.
What you did with the picture is wonderful not only in meaning and feelings, but in a "don't give in to the pain" way. I'm sure your father knows about it and is happy that you didn't choose to just dig into a hole with your suffering, instead you decided to share with your friends and find the strenght to do something to remember him. Smile

You're a great guy, Empethree. Take your time, always remember the good times you've had and if you need confort other than the one from your family, Lisa and all of us will be here. Smile

Take my condolences. There's nothing really to help you, just hope that the pain will gone with a time. Your picture is sad and beautiful, so piercing expression of Lisa perfectly passes it. And that glowing different backround - of course where he now appears for eternal. Long memory to Peter Jackson.

...right. Sad I'm sorry to hear that, sincerely so...  that is a beautiful tribute you did, I hope you'll stay in this frame of mind. Think of the good, not the bad.
I'm sure your father would be proud of you for staying strong and not giving in too deeply, just make sure to wash out the sadness and get it over with.
Surrender to the sadness, not the pain!
You seem to be strong, keep at it, kick time's ass!

My English is not so good when it comes to these things, so I'll just post this in Dutch: Sterkte! Ook voor je familie en vrienden.

About the picture: It's beautiful. You've picked an awesome looking background for the picture and I'm sure your father would appreciate it.

Thats tragic, very sorry to hear that empethree.

I felt now was the right time to post after my brothers dog, Dumpy, was humainly euthanised recently. So I guess... your father can take care of my dog in heaven now, possibly...
Not having a dog is by no means the same as a father, but I just felt I should mention it, as your picture makes a much more personal sence to me now...

Thanks for this
