I just noticed that all this time, we've got it all wrong!!!
Lisa's and Maggie's hair is not an uniformed "starlike sphere", but...


*gasp*

It's divided in the middle!! Proof here:

I must go and redraw all my pictures to follow this new discovery! *goes to work* And so should all of you!
Madness aside, i think this was a quite cute addition to Maggie's hairstyle, still cannot say if it's an animation blooper or the artist did intend for her hair to look like it. It's surely something i've never noticed before.  Maggie

Heh!   What episode is that from?   It almost looks like a construction line that's been left in.

It's indeed an animation goof that happen from time to time, like Lisa's necklace changing color sometimes. Probably a forgotten construction line like janglewolf said, or an animator's attempt to give Maggie's head some "extra volume". Smile In any case, it's a cool example!

I've saw that line once before, but I thought that it's because her head was close to chair's back or something like this, but I was wrong, she was bended to Marge and her hair were free Eek
Interesting goof Smile If spikes were symmetric around this line, it could be very nice new hairdo for Mag.
