I think it would be interesting if all members would make a piece of art together, to make kind of patch-work quilt or something like it, to put all our feeling to Simpsons in one picture. It shouldn't be as "one draws Lisa's eye, another - Lisa's eyelash", but something to put soul in it. I thought about something like a painted Round Robin (unfortunately, I suck in english writing, so I can't take part in written RRs), where, for example, someone choose the picture's theme and then one member draws a character, then passes pic to other, and other member draws another character to fit the theme at the same canvas and so on. But such thing needs very big canvas to fit all members' part, so it's kinda difficult technically Sad And of course all of us have different styles and ways to draw, but it'll be great to have something with a part of every member.

Is anyone interested in doing something collective and have any ideas, how we could do it?

That, is a great idea. Smile

I had the thought a while ago (on a different forum) of all the members drawing themselves onto a simgle picture, which could be used as a banner or something to identify the forum people.
However, this idea is probably better. Big Grin Each person could draw a character around the scene presented. It wont look perfect, they'll be loads of perspective issues, hight problems, etc etc... But I dont care really, would be a great collaboration of efforts. Smile

How, is another matter. Maybe using a program such as OpenCanvas which is very easy to use PC tablets for the people who have them, using the layers to create your own peice without disturbing the others.
For people without PC tablets, (or like me who isnt good at using them), suppose some members could help taking a seperate picture, and adding to the main picture in the right place. I'm more than willing to help... but I really dont have the equipment or talent I used to. Practice, and the lack of it.

Using OpenCanvas seems to be a good idea, and it actually allows you to draw on a canvas over the internet at the same time. Now while that might be complicated with more than two participients, you could always attach the OC file to your posting for the next one to grab it and add his part later.

Yes, OC is the only way to go, imo... although there are alternatives known as PaintBBS, Oekakis and such. I think it could be even something that gets installed in the LTS server like a chatroom.

The problem might be that in OC you can have a maximum of 4 users (the hoster included) and it could suffer from lags, router configurations, pc problems...

Guys, we all from different countries and have different time to draw and different bandwidth, so I never meant drawing at the same time over the internet - it's just will be so hard to gather members, so offline-drawing is better, as I think.
And also, there are members drawing with pencil on paper, to whom it'll be hard to draw with mouse or tablet.  I think every graphic editor with layers could be used (both to tablet art and scanned art parts)... The main question is - how big canvas should be to fit many different characters and will it be easy to look at...
Also, what to do with the background - should it be added by one of members after characters are finished or what? And could we draw different characters, or everybody want to draw only Lisa?  Eek Although many Lisas are great, too Big Grin

How about one testing attempt of 3-4 members? Is there any volunteers to begin? Excellent ability to draw not so important and how long would each member draw neither.

Hmm, this sounds like a fun idea... unforuntately some of us don't draw or draw hardly at all and are pretty uncomfortable with our styles... Plus, as has been pointed out, some of us use pencil and paper, others use programs on the computer. I don't know if I'd be able to participate in this, if it did take off... sorry Embarrassed

It is possible, using only pencil, paper, printer and scanner back in the day me and Ekko made quite a few collaborated pictures. Probably the most significant ones where 'Matias' and 'Rival'.
Matias: Sketch - Fineline - Colour
Rival: Sketch - Fineline - Colour

He drew them both, and I printed them, added a background (since he wasnt very good at them), scanned and coloured it. (EDIT: With persmission, maybe I should post some of his later pictures that never made it to SR in a thread here?)
Pretty long winded but it is one possiblility. Could do the same but just add characters around like the backgrounds where added. The cons of this is, the picture would need colouring over again if parts where already coloured, since the printing/scanning would alter the colours. So maybe its best keeping it in sketch form and save colouring till last. Smile

Wow, great work, so accurate, full with details and nicely coloured! I like the "Rival" especially Smile Yes, I think you're right about colouring - picture will be more unite with the same colouring for all parts. Please post more collaborate pics in your thread, it will be very interesting to see.

I've deleted post with first pic, 'cause I think beginner of the RR should have managerial abilities to choose great theme, make conditions and draw first one well. So, I suppose SimpReal should close this thread now till someone on LTS would be ready to open something real. Sorry for disturbing Smile

What a nice idea!   I'd be happy to take part but I don't think I'm going to have the time until a couple of weeks from now.   If people are OK to wait that long, then I'm in, if not, don't worry!
I thought your pic and theme were OK Brakusaetsya, why not start with them?   We can always try other themes later.
Regarding adding pencil sketches/background, there shouldn't be a problem with a bit of photoshop trickery.   Even if the original artist doesn't have photoshop, I'm sure that others on here (myself included) would be happy to edit their contribution into the final pic.

Okay. Then I'll post once again the same pic, but without colours, as Casper said; if anyone will be interested, please post here, that you'll continue and date, when you plan to finish, then enlarge canvas in graphic editor and draw Simpson character in some masquerade costume near mine Smile Choose character and costume freely.

Sorry i didn't understand at first. this is a terrific idea, very nice, and you started things off in a very nice way!  Smile I like the idea and theme, and i don't think there's need to create a new thread for this. Well, if you think it's necessary i'll do it anyway! Big Grin As for me continuing and adding, i can't be sure for now, i'll know better around tomorrow when i will know my schedule.

*thumbs up to the topic*

I'd like to partake if I may. ^^
So if I understand this correctly...
We copy the image you uploaded into a program, draw ourselves or our character, then enlarge the canvas for others to keep on drawing...? I think it sounds like a good idea!
It could be like, the LTS collage.
Would it be okay if I can go next? Smile
