Where are you tonight?
Wild flower in starlit heaven
Still enchanted in flight
Obsessions lament to freedom

A timeless word, the meanings changed
But I'm still burning in your flames,
Incessant, lustral mmasquerade,
Unengaged, dilit love didn´t taste the same

And I still wonder if you ever wonder the same
And I still wonder

I posted this video in the Rick Wright memorial thread but I believe it deserves posting here as well... as a tribute to this wonderful man who left us just yesterday... his voice and music are transcendent, otherworldly, and just... brilliant.

Still can't believe he's gone...

"Breakthrough" - Rick Wright
I can take or leave it, won't be the woebegone
Don't need a model universe to hang your pictures on
You hide somewhere, you die somewhere
And then this senseless thought
By hating more you're feeling more
And that's how you get caught

(They're never gonna make it easy,
Of this you can be sure)

I greet you from the wilderness,
I'll stay inside your door

There is no cage or prison
They have no fence too tall
You die more times that anyone
And there's still no place to fall

(They're never gonna make it easy,
This comes down from above)

I have no helm, no secret realm,
I dream to be at the heart of love, a part of love...

I bet you can conceal it, but that's just a dead-end track
I'll cover you like the driven snow, and then I'll bring you back
You'll see, you feel, you feel like a banner
Unfurled and gently blown
And there before your opening eyes
The self you've never known...

(They're never gonna make it easy
Of this you can be sure)

You feel alive, your heart untied
And loved for ever more

(They're never gonna make it easy
This comes down from above)

You feel alive, your heart untied
And loved for ever more...

(They're never gonna make it easy
Of this you can be sure)

You feel alive, your heart untied
And loved for ever more

(They're never gonna make it easy
This comes down from above)

You feel alive, your heart untied
And loved for ever more...

A classic song from a classic band, Dream Theater. Best incipit in Prog Metal ever (also the guitar-keyboard duo at 4:30 is impressive), me thinks Big Grin

Dream Theater - Take the Time
Just let me catch my breath...
I've heard the promises
I've seen the mistakes
I've had my fair share of tough breaks
I need a new voice, a new law, a new way
Take the time, reevaluate
It's time to pick up the pieces,
Go back to square one
I think it's time for a change

There is something that I feel
To be something that is real
I feel the heat within my mind
And craft new changes with my eyes
Giving freely wandering promises
A place with decisions I'll fashion
I won't waste another breath

You can feel the waves coming on
(It's time to take the time)
Let them destroy you or carry you on
(It's time to take the time)
You're fighting the weight of the world
But no one can save you this time
Close your eyes
You can find all you need in your mind

The unbroken spirit
Obscured and disquiet
Finds clearness this trial demands
And at the end of this day sighs an anxious relief
For the fortune lies still in his hands

If there's pensive fear, a wasted year
A man must learn to cope
If his obsession's real,
Suppression that he feels must turn to hope

Life is no more assuring than love
(It's time to take the time)
There are no answers from voices above
(It's time to take the time)
You're fighting the weight of the world
And no one can save you this time
Close your eyes
You can find all you need in your mind

I close my eyes
And feel the water rise around me
Drown the bead of time
Let my senses fall away
I can see much clearer now,
I'm blind

Find all you need in your mind
If you take the time

Another of my favourite bands of all time. Nicekback have done some FANTASTIC tracks over the years. Probably my favourite Canadian band. The name comes from when Mike Kroeger worked in a coffee shop, when he gave customer change he said "Here's your Nickel Back"

Chad Kroeger's voice is amazing on thier tracks and gives extreme power to thier tracks., this one especially. His voice makes the band what it is, his gruff powerful voice is fantastic. His solo music is good too.

This perticuular track sums up how I feel now. Kinda what I feel about LTS in a symbolic way.

Nickelback - Savin' Me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enhfApoyhxs

Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you

Well I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you

Come please I'm callin'
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you

These city walls ain't got no love for me
I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you

Come please I'm callin'
And all I need from you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

Hurry I'm fallin'

All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And oh, I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

Hurry I'm fallin'

And Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

This may have been posted before, but please don't get the wrong message, I'm not depressed in the slightest...but this song is rather meaningful and although it's not what I usually listen to, I admire Eric Clapton as a musician and how much emotion he puts into his music...it is rather moving.

Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven:

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand if I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand if I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven.

Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven.

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.

Great choice.... Tears in heaven is one of the tracks that means a lot to me Smile

Great emotional track with a lot of feeling put into the lyrics. Clapton not one of my biggest favs but a lot of tracks rank in my favs.

I'm in a really bad way tonight... I feel like I need to post this song because I have no other means of articulating my grief... every line speaks literally word for word how much I miss you. I wish I could just talk to you one last time... I wish I could tell you all I never did, everything I left unspoken, everything that now keeps you a world away from me...

Anathema - One Last Goodbye
How I needed you
How I grieve now you're gone
In my dreams I see you
I awake so alone

I know you didn't want to leave
Your heart yearned to stay
But the strength I always loved in you
Finally gave way

Somehow I knew you would leave me this way
Somehow I knew you could never, never stay
And in the early morning light
After a silent peaceful night
You took my heart away
And I grieve...

In my dreams I can see you
I can tell you how I feel...
In my dreams I can hold you
And it feels so real...

I still feel the pain (Still feel the pain...)
I still feel your love (Still feel your love...)
I still feel the pain (Still feel the pain...)
I still feel your love...

And somehow I knew... you could never, never stay
And somehow I knew... you would leave me
And in the early morning light
After a silent peaceful night
You took my heart away
Oh I wish, I wish you could have stayed...

Ouch... the song is awesome and i think one of my all time favorites ever (i get goosebumps everytime i hear the last crescendo, culminating in the ending solo, where the guitar takes over the voice), but i wouldn't like to be in your shoes right now.  Sad
To feel like this must be heart-wrenching... i can only hope it'll pass soon for you, and imho it's not a problem to help getting rid of the most negative parts of these emotions by "sharing" them with such kind of melodies.

A great track by a great new Irish band. The Script is from Dublin. Love the lyrics and the music Smile

The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved

A Special version of the video should be watched by all LTS members:

Also watch this after:

---

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move,
Got some words on cardboard got your picture in my hand,
Saying if you see this girl can you tell her where I am,
Some try to hand me money they don't understand,
I'm not...broke I'm just a broken hearted man,
I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do,
How can I move on when I'm still in love with you...

Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet,
And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.

So I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

Policeman says son you can't stay here,
I said there's someone I'm waiting for if it's a day, a month, a year,
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows,
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go.

I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

People talk about the guy
Who's waiting on a girl...
Ooh ooh
There are no holes in his shoes
But a big hole in his world...
Hmmmm

And maybe I'll get famous as man who can't be moved,
And maybe you won't mean to but you'll see me on the news,
And you'll come running to the corner...
Cos you'll know it's just for you

I'm the man who can't be moved
I'm the man who can't be moved...

I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag not I'm not gonna move.

Ahh, Fear Factory... one of my first ever steps into the Mtal world together with Metallica and Pantera. Nice memories ^_^ So many parties, hehe.

Anyway here's a sweet piece from my last "favourite" album, it's a fantasy-epic love song (a bit hard to comprehend not knowing the story, but the lyrics are very nice and so is the music), also a bit sad, with two of the best voices of the scene (Simone Simmons and Roy Khan). She's also beautiful, i could lose myself in those blue eyes Smile

Kamelot - The Haunting (Somewhere in time)

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdNQRjPOJTM

Merely the sound of your voice
Made me believe that
that you were her
Just like the river disturbs
...my inner peace

Once I believed I could find
Just a trace of her beloved soul
Once I believed she was all
Then she smothered my beliefs

One cold winter's night
I may follow her voice to the river
Leave me for now and forever
Leave while you can

Somewhere in time
I will find you and haunt you again
Like the wind sweeps the earth
Somewhere in time
When no virtues are left to defend
You fall in deep

I was a liar in every debate
I rule the forces that fueled your hate
When the cold in my heart leaves
It comes to an end
And quietly I'll go to sleep

How could that first time recur
When memories linger on and on
What made me think you were her
Helena is dead to all
dead to all

Nothing can bring her to life
Don't pretend that I'll be loving you
Once I believed she was gone
I'm corrupted from within
Leave me for now and forever
Leave while you can

Somewhere in time
I will find you and haunt you again
Like the wind sweeps the earth
Somewhere in time
When no virtues are left to defend
You fall in deep

I was a liar in every debate
I rule the forces that fueled your hate
When the cold in my heart leaves
It comes to an end
And quietly I'll go to sleep

Follow me into the light
(Like ice on a lake of tears I'll take you through)
Leave me tonight
(Life fades in anew)
I've gone too far to begin all anew
With someone like you

I've been having some love issues these past few weeks, and today I got my heart broken... Ahh, don't you guys worry. I'll be fine. Wink Anyway, I've been listening to this song, and I think it sums up what I'm feeling..

I Won't Let Go - Jet Black Stare

Torn by the words I should tell her
I feel she's slipping away
I can't deny all the feelings inside
And I hope she feels the same way

'Cuz I won't let go
And I won't say goodbye
Tell me you wanna try
Tell me you'll stay the night
All in time
Don't you say goodbye

Fight for the reasons that I stay
Fight for the reasons to change
I could move on but I keep holding on
And I need her to feel the same way

'Cuz I won't let go
And I won't say goodbye
Tell me you wanna try
Tell me you'll stay the night
All in time
Don't you say goodbye

'Cuz I wont let go
And I won't say goodbye
Tell me you wanna try
Tell me you'll stay the night
All in time
In time

'Cuz I won't let go
And I won't say goodbye
Tell me you wanna try
Tell me you'll stay the night
All in time
Don't you say goodbye
I won't say goodbye
Don't you say goodbye.

El_Barto
Welcome to the machine is all I can say.

No, seriously, Pink Floyd references aside, I'm sorry to hear that... it's not a good feeling. Well, hopefully you'll be back on your feet in no time. Experiences like this help build your resilience in future encounters.

In the spirit of lost love...

Don Henley - The Boys of Summer
Nobody on the road
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air
Summer's out of reach
Empty lake,
Empty streets
The sun goes down alone
I'm drivin' by your house, though I know
You're not home

But I can see you
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got your hair combed back and your sunglasses on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream
Now I don't understand what happened to our love
But babe I'm gonna get you back
Gonna show you what I'm made of

I can see you
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
I see you walkin' real slow and you're smilin' at everyone
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone...

Out on the road today, I saw a deadhead sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice inside my head said, "Don't look back, you can never look back,"
I thought I knew what love was,
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let 'em go, but...

I can see you
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

I can see you
Your brown skin shining in the sun
You got that hair slicked back and those wayfarers on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone...

Wow, why didn't I take a look into this thread before?
There are so many great lyrics.

This song doesn't only have a great melody and rhythm, it also has great lyrics.

Coldplay: Life in Technicolor

Oooh
Oooooh

No, seriously:
Coldplay: Viva la Vida

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you know there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in.
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People could not believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries Wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world
(Oooooo Oooooo Oooooo)

Hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world
(Ohhh Ohhh Ohhh)
