I remember that one. It is a bit up beat but good. I have yet another Jars of clay entry. this one is called "waiting for my world to fall"

afraid it's been too long to find the reasons why
i let my world fall in around a smaller patch of fading sky
but now i've grown beyond the walls to where i've never been
and it's still winter in my wonderland
i'm waiting for the world to fall
i'm waiting for the scene to change
i'm waiting when the colors come
i'm waiting to let my world come undone
i close my eyes and try to see the world unbroken underneath
the farther off and already it might just make the life i lead
a little more than make-believe when all my skies are painted blue
and all the clouds don't ever change the shape of who i am to you
i'm waiting for the world to fall
i'm waiting for the scene to change
i'm waiting when the colors come
i'm waiting to let my world come undone
when i catch the light of falling stars my view is changing me
my view is changing me
i'm waiting
i'm waiting for the world to fall
i'm waiting for the scene to change
i'm waiting when the colors come
i'm waiting to let my world come undone

Here's a good song from a band called the Bodeans.

Going Home

They said good-bye to all their friends
And left their humble homes behind
They'd heard about a chance up north
Amidst the noise and dirt and fire
And on the way they prayed to God
"Have mercy send us down a light"
And when the babies cried they told them close
"My son, everything is alright"

One walked his way around the town
The other took the name of Rose
They both never had much wealth
But each one knew how a flower grows
And they spoke a language in new ways
And raised their familes true to heart
Their blood runs through my veins so deep
I know they could never tear us apart

Yeah, they broke their backs just trying to stake a place
That they could call their own
And as we lay them down to sleep
I know in my heart that they're going home

It took me about a month to find the title and artist of this song, so I might as well share it with you Tongue

Bodyrox featuring Luciana - Yeah Yeah

You think you got it all worked out
But you dont know nothing, nothing, nothing
You think that you could rub me out
But I'm made of something, something, something

I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two

Raw dirty hot track
Push it in and pull it back
Am I glamour pussing it
See if you can top that
Come into the new way
Bodyrox a new way
More then just a new craze
I'll show you who's rock 'n roll

I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh

Yeah oh, yeah oh x4

You think you got it all worked out
But you dont know nothing, nothing, nothing
You think that you could rub me out
But I'm made of something, something, something

I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two
Yeah oh, yeah oh
I could teach you a thing or two

I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet, it's probably the risk that once I start I won't be able to stop!    Gigi
Anyway, these are the lyrics from a beautiful song by Crowded House (written by Neil and Tim Finn), from their Woodface album.   Fairly dark but with maybe a hint of hope...

How Will You Go
Escape is on your mind again
Escape to a far away land
At times it seems there is no end
To long hard nights of drinking

How will you go
How will you go
Drive through the wind and the rain
Cover it up
Cover it up
I'll find you a shelter to sleep in

I fell over on the couch again
But you know not all sleep is wasted
Your dreams are alcohol inspired
You can't find a better way to face it

How will you go
How will you go
Drive through the wind and the rain
Cover it up
Cover it up
I'll find you a shelter to sleep in

And you know I'll be fine
Just don't ask me how it's going
Gimme time, gimme time
Cos I want you to see
Round the world round the world
Is a tangled up necklace of pearls

How will you go
How will you go
Drive through the wind and the rain
Cover it up
Cover it up
I'll find you a shelter to sleep in

LOL, beautiful song Tongue

* Dagdamor imagines Opeth singing it, with their heavy music and growling
* Dagdamor has great mood for the rest of the day

Nice lyrics... especially the "tangled up necklace of pearls" moment Smile I guess I should find and download this one...

A special one for all of those Lisa Fanatics out there. "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder

Honey why are you calling me so late
It’s kinda hard to talk right now
Honey why are you crying is everything okay
I gotta whisper cause I can’t be too loud
Well, my girls in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It’s really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

It’s funny that you’re calling me tonight
And yes I’ve dreamt of you too
And does he know you’re talking to me
Will it start a fight
No I don’t think she has a clue
Well my girls in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It’s really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those wordsa it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

It’s really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
(And I never wanna say goodbye)
But girl you make it so hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
Honey why are you calling me so late

Yet another BD song, this one's a bit less fatalistic.

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin',
I was layin' in bed
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red.
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough.
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through,
Tangled up in blue.

She was married when we first met
Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam, I guess,
But I used a little too much force.
We drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out West
Split up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best.
She turned around to look at me
As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder,
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue,"
Tangled up in blue.

I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell.
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix.
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in blue.

She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer,
I just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear.
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same,
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
She studied the lines on my face.
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe,
Tangled up in blue.

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.

I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs,
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air.
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died.
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside.
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn,
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew,
Tangled up in blue.

So now I'm goin' back again,
I got to get to her somehow.
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now.
Some are mathematicians
Some are carpenter's wives.
Don't know how it all got started,
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives.
But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same,
We just saw it from a different point of view,
Tangled up in blue.

Sorry for the DP, but here's a good greenday song you can stream from Kyle's site.

Name: Whatsername
Artist: Green Day

http://www.krustylustudios.com/tsw/sounds/Whatshername

Here's the lyrics:

Green Day - Whatsername Lyrics
Thought I ran into you down on the street
Then it turned out to only be a dream
I made a point to burn all of the photographs
She went away and then I took a different path
I remember the face
But I cant recall the name
Now I wonder how whatsername has been

Seems that she disappeared with out a trace
Did she ever marry old what's his face?
I made a point to burn all of the photographs
She went away and then I took a different path
I remember the face
But I cant recall the name
Now I wonder how whatsername has been

Remember, whatever
It seems like forever ago
Remember, whatever
It seems like forever ago
The regrets are useless
In my mind
She's in my head
I must confess
The regrets are useless
In my mind
She's in my head
From so long ago

(Go, Go, Go, Go..)

And in the darkest night
If my memory serves me right
I'll never turn back time

Forgetting you, but not the time

If you're looking for a good song, I reccomend Jimmy Buffet's "He Went to Paris".

He went to paris lookin' for answers
To questions that bothered him so
He was impressive, young and aggressive
Savin the world on his own

But the warm summer breezes
The french wines and cheeses
Put his ambition at bay
The summers and winters
Scattered like splinters
And four or five years slipped away

Then he went to england, played the piano
And married an actress named kim
They had a fine life, she was a good wife
And bore him a young son named jim

And all of the answers and all of the questions
Locked in his attic one day
cause he liked the quiet clean country livin'
And twenty more years slipped away

Well the war took his lady, the bombs killed his baby
And left him with only one eye
His body was battered, his whole world was shattered
And all he could do was just cry

While the tears were a-fallin' he was recallin'
Answers he never found
So he hopped on a freighter, skipped across the ocean
And left england without a sound

Now he lives in the islands, fishes the pilin's
And drinks his green label each day
Writing his memoirs, losin his hearin
But he dont care what most people say

Through eighty-six years of perpetual emotion
If he likes you he'll smile and he'll say
Jimmy, some of its magic, some of its tragic
But I had a good life all the way.

Anathema - Pulled Under 2000 Metres A Second

Freedom is only a hallucination
That waits at the edge of the distant horizon
And we are all strangers in a global illusion
Wanting and needing impossible heaven

Chasing the dream as they swim out to sea
The mirage ahead says that they can be free
Become lost in delusion drowning their reason
Swept on by the current of selfish ambition

Frightened ashamed and afraid of the blame
The questions are screaming the answers are hiding
The sickness is growing distracted condition
You can feel the disgust and smell the confusion

Lying insane getting soaked in the rain
Draining the sky of the guilt and the shame
The nightmare is coming the clouds are descending
Pulled under at two thousand metres a second

Clawing at walls that just slip through my fingers
Darkness consuming collapsing and breaking
Distilled paranoia seeped into the walls
And filled in the cracks with the whispering calls

Shadows are forming take heed of the warnings
Creeping around at four in the morning
Lie to myself start a brand new beginning
But I'm losing myself in this fear of living

Freedom is only a hallucination
That waits at the edge of the places you go when you dream
Deep in the reason betrayal of feeling
The mistakes that I made tore my conscience apart at the seems

Freedom is only a hallucination
That waits at the edge of the places you go when you dream...
