I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies...

Here's a new picture I made in art class. I tried to do something different with this one. I used 4 things to make this pictures: A pencil, charcoal, paints, and my computer. It has a quote from a Bob Dylan song, too. The picture itself didn't turn out very well because I made the stupid mistake of trying to outline it with paint, and that really messed it up. Also, the scanner always adds the area of the surface that's not part of the picture to the image, and I don't know how to get rid of that. Anyway, enjoy the art. Lisa

"I met one man who was wounded in love, I met another man who was wounded with hatred, and it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall...

Nice picture, though simple, I think charcoal pictures like this almost look good when they're maybe a bit crude looking.

Look at that hand, lying there
The room is dark, she shows no fear
I'm lying still, my eyes are wide
My heart is pumping, I'm still alive

I'm still awake against my will
What will it ever take
To still this burning in me?

Yeah, this is quite rough, but has a very good charm to it... the words fit perfectly with the overall mood of the picture, and even the medium you used. The black charcoal in this case works really well into isolating Lisa, and on the other side, her brilliant colors act as a good contrasting medium.

Well, it looks just as it reads. Smile

Does he understand
We are here, by his side...

It's nice to see you haven't stop drawing. Smile

The picture looks a bit messy, but than again I haven't seen any charcoal pictures before. The effect and texture of it look nice. And yeah, the lyrics fit the picture. As if she's the sunshine in an otherwise dark world.

Ooh, some new interesting art Smile
I must admit that technically your picture is not perfect. But judging on your explanation, it's not completely your fault... using different tools and techniques on the same picture is always very tough, so maybe it's still turned out rather good. I personally liked the idea more than implementation. But you should not listen to my nitpicks and try more!
