No offense, but Lisa's pose in the first one is kind of creepy. The second one I really liked; It is very natural.

Yggdrasill
"A Very Sad Day" - Aw, man... I wouldn't call Lisa's pose "creepy", her pose is okay (and drawn very well, too), but her expression worries me... according to the picture, she's close to hysterics. Or already there. I cannot blame her though, especially keeping in mind what's happened outside. Sad Very sad picture, but nicely done. My only nitpick is Lisa's mouth. Marge looks great here - a loving, caring mother like always... and she looks very on-model, too! All in all, it's a nicely done picture, but of course very sorrowful.

"Autumn Lisa" - a nice change from the previous picture, mood-wise. Like A.P. said, it looks very natural and sweet. I like it a lot, maybe it's sad too, but it's a different kind of sadness. Lisa feels blue on this pic, and that's not bad to me. Smile Impressive amount of details here, too - my respect for drawing all those leaves. The house and the car looks very believable as well. Great job.

P.S. For some weird reason, Imageshack refuses to work for me lately... I've spent 20 minutes trying to load your piccies. Confused Could you please post your pictures as attachments next time? They will load faster for sure... there will be no thumbnails, but imho it's hard to understand what's going on on the picture from the small thumbnail anyway.

One little nitpic about the "Autumn Lisa" pic: The car tire seems to disconnect where the saxophone touches it.

I appologise for not replying sooner.

 Eek

Wow!
Thats some dandy pencil work Wink

Hmm... I'll go over each picture. Sorry if I take up 2-thirds of the internet doing so:

Lisa & Maggie -Remake
This is nice Smile Strange colours, I must say... I dont think I've seen those shades on Simpsons characters before. But I like it Big Grin
Lisa looks like a professional, where as Maggie is just having a blast! Looks like a lotta fun Tongue
*wonders when its his turn*

Gently my mind escapes... to relax in a world of pleasure, ple....
... Right. The picture!
I havent read the script yet, but I have the feeling I am about to. The shading is... mmmmm, extrodinary! I LOVE the way you've got the window set up and the street outside and the light and stuff... its good work Smile
I would nit-pick about you not using a ruler, but neither do I Wink

Lost Our Maggie
Hehe!! XD
I love Maggies expression Tongue Some parts of this picture are off, like Marge. But, hell if I can do that.
Bart on the chair while Homer lifts it up is just, simply brilliant. Its perfect characterisation Wink

Them
Spooky... wow. The shading again is very good. Lisa looks genuely feared... I dont blame her Wink Bart almost looks bald but, thats due to the shadows. So meh, I'll let you off  Twisted

A Very Sad Day
Eek.... not again :/
You must be brave to draw a situation like this. Not easy at all to get it right. While the outside looks relativly 2D... to me it makes it look like a photograph in her mind. I dunno, I think I might just be talking out of my arrisen opinion.
The inside however, is muy bien! Detail and the 3 dimensional look is very authentic.
Ofcourse, Lisa looks imensly upset. And you've done a damn good job of replicating it on paper. Marge looks how I'd envision her in the situation, all around... wheee!!! Thumbs up for me Smile

Autumn Lisa
Wow... If those leaves didnt take days I'm sueing me for working slowely.
Looks Russian to me Wink The car that is... which is accurate Big Grin
Everything is just so, believeable. You could imagine her sitting there, just taking in the freash air and watching Autumn fall over her street before the cold of Winter...

Well, in (what feels like a) conclusion, Keep it up! These are some very nice pictures, and I hope you keep practicing. There is room for improvment but... not that much, if you get what I mean. Big Grin

Solving the Equation

Oh my oh my, what a bunch of goodness we have here. Yggdrasil, you are a *VERY* talented penciler! Did you follow some school, or is it just personal learning? If it's the latter, i must bow to you, because you have a natural talent that you should nurture and refine.

Let me talk of the piccies now...
VERY SAD DAY:
I really, *really* disliked the subplot of this episode... the start was good, i mean, Lisa losing SnowballII and being honestly heart broken about it was believable and a strong plot. The way the writers handled it... it was just horrible. They toyed with Lisa's feelings and made her act completely unnatural, imo.
But anyway, er... the picture: The emotion on Lisa is wonderfully portraied, so much thati can almost hear her wailing. the way she holds her legs and fists together is very touching. Marge is very on model, as Dagdamor said, and good job with the detailing of her dress. Maybe her arms are a bit too thick, just that though.

AUTUMN LISA:
Oh, i love this one. Autumn is my favourite season of all... the weather, the fallign leaves, the colors, and just the mood of it. It also goes perfectly with the kind of music i love best (walking through a foggy cold riverside, with Opeth's Blackwater's Park blasting in my ears... but i digress)  Unsure
The amount of detail of this picture is amazing, the mood of it is... warm, despite Lisa's wearing a jacket. I feel completely in sinthony with her when i look at this picture, and i wish i could spend hours sittign with her on that car looking at the gentle storm of colors all around us. Really, amazing: a poetic picture that tugs at my most powerful mood strings ^.^

LISA AND MAGGIE FLY:
Cute! The redrawing is pretty different from the original, iirc, so i cant say which is better... again, i have to praise your attention and care for details. The clouds are especially impressive.. as are the colors. They're particular, realistic, but still quite "cartoony". It's hard to say, but i wish you did more colored pics Smile

GENTLY:
This picture is very much like the fic that inspired it. Unsettling, kind of scary, stark, morbidly interesting, original and more of all, damn well done Tongue Great white/black contrasts... and very nice background visible through the window. i'll say it again... this pic is perfectly toned iwth the fic it depicts. Smile

LOST OUR MAGGIE:
Heh heh, congratulations for trying to draw Lisa's overbite from above! I bet it's a real hard challenge... but it was pulled off nicely. As for the pic, it's full of life and details, as always. no dshading, but the linework is encomiable, and all the characters are pretty on model!

THEM:
I was a *huge* fan of King Diamond though it kind of eebed out in these years, where i changed a bit my musical tastes. My favourites albums from him are still "Abigail" and "The Graveyard", but i like even Them. I admit i never cared too much about the story though, so i can't place well this picture... i sohuld reread the lyrics. What i know is that the picture is astounding. Marge on the weelchair is incredibly well detailed and unsettling, the perspective is a touch of genius, the kind of thing you see in horror movies... the whole atmosphere of the picture is just like his music. Scary, evil, somewhat insane, but beautiful. Lisa in the spotlight is the "missing" piece of the picture that make it gain a whole lot of mood to it.
The shading is completely awesome. And congratulations for leaving a KD "cameo" in the picture on the wall. He'd appreciate Wink

It's been long since I saw such improvement in just a few pictures. Your first couple of pictures of this thread all have some slight errors in them, mostly wrong proportions of the characters, but also in term of angles and such. I won't go deeper into that, though.

Now, then. Your two newest pictures, on the other hand, are brilliant in terms of correct drawing, in comparision to the earlier ones. In "A Very Sad Day" both Marge and Lisa look execellent, it's a very difficult scene to draw, but you've managed well. "Autumn Lisa" is another brilliant picture which, in addition to Lisa that looks perfect, shows your skills in drawing buildings and other objects. I'm trying to find things to complain about, but can't. The details of the leaves falling are astounding and the picture in whole brings me to a calm, just by looking at it.

Can't wait to see what else you are going to draw. Thanks for showing these for us.

It seems to me, I realized that you meant. But I have dared to draw her in such pose, hoping that everyone will understand me correctly. Certainly, it doesn't concern to those who at all does not know who is Lisa. And also what is so special in a scene in drawing.
About "naturalism" in the picture - thanks!

Dagdamor
Thanks for praises! I'm glad it was pleasant to you. I'll try to please you with my future drawings (I hope that they will appear).

Certainly, there are no problem with it. Next time I will load files onto your server. The matter was not that I wanted that were a thumbnails. Simply I was operated in accord with defined "technology" and  did not want to change it. But since there's such occasions...

Take up as much as necessary. I'm always ready to listen the critics at my adress. Especially if it does not contain negative emotions in itself. :-)

Thank you very much on it! I'm very glad, really.

Yes, I have no special liking of using the ruler in my drawings. I think it looks awfully in conjunction to the details which drawn by a hand. But it's only an opinion. I'm not going to instruct someone of course.

Oh, yes, that's right. I do understand that she looks so as she about to...(I will not say that :-) ). But people, just dismiss similar ideas. I hope you are higher than it. Eventually the Lisa-fans should not suppose such thoughts (I'm still smiling while typing this message :-) ).

I never went to any art school or a hobby group, so I can boldly say that that it is my personal "achievement" ;-) *casts a sidelong look at corresponding thread*  Of course thank you that you called this as a talent.

Quote
They toyed with Lisa's feelings and made her act completely unnatural, imo.
Yes, I'm absolutely agree with you. It was very unpleasant to watch when Lisa almost reconciled to destiny to have no cat. And how she suffered... Who will understand those script writers? They will continue to play with our feelings like they do it with Lisa. In order only to show some "ridiculous" situations...That is really not serious relation to the personality of the character and admirers.

Quote

That's an excellent words, you're just voice my own ideas. Well, the ideas of the majority of us, as I sense.

but i wish you did more colored pics
I wish that not less than others, but still there is only two colored pics in my assets. I will make an efforts.

It's very nice to see another KD fan (though in past but still...)! And as well as you, my favourite albums are "THEM", "Graveyard" and "Abigail", though I do love all His albums (less or more).
"Abigail" - that's classic! It's out of discussion. "The Graveyard" - is very unusual even for talent of King. There is nothing to compare. And, in my opinion, King has managed to show the secret desire of each human being to find out more about awful dirty acts breaking the rights of little children (you know what I'm speaking about). It's really horrible album.
Also I will tell the "Voodoo" album is very pleasant for me too. The music is quite tough, I would to say that it heavyest album of KD. And fresh mystical themes of sorcery which has come from black continent.
I'm very glad you like "THEM". :-) Thanks for your message of the impressing size.

capadde
The sight of this guy will pass nothing! Here I see all the faults in my pictures. But in one thing you are wrong. And here it is:
Quote
I saw such improvement in just a few pictures
I'm not SO brilliant artist to increase my skill of drawing in two or similar number of pictures. There's only one trouble with me: laziness to do as my best. That's all. Sometimes I endeavour more, sometimes it less. That's the secret of fast growing of the skill, hehe. ;-)
I agree all the items of your remark, especially this one:
Quote
wrong proportions of the characters...and also angles
It is that on what I pay always steadfast attention. Certainly it my fault that I'm in something simply powerless. Well, as Casper said:
Quote
There is room for improvement
and I also add: there is so much room for improvement, that the end of a way is just not visible.

Hurray, I'm finished it! That was not too easy.

to very sad day

a very sad and sweet drawing… the expression of Smooth is brilliant… mainly in the eyes… a beautiful picture Smile

 Autumm Lisa that

I can say? a drawing that remembers so many things and days to me of Autumn… memory when he was smaller and instead of playing preferred to be watching the street in silence. and to contemplate the movement of a life without return Sad…. memory those days in which it had as much freedom and did not have preoccupations Smile… in where it could live without the preoccupation and the pain…  Sad
a beautiful drawing! Smile
Thanks and Keep Drawing    Smile

Gustavo
Thanks for a response! Glad to see it was pleasant for you.

My new picture is devoted to King Diamond - again. In particular to their album "Abigail". It is very known in metal society and undoubtedly King's best album. If you do like metal music and still didn't hear anything about it I very much advise you to listen it some day (especially song "Black Horseman" - it simply amazing).

And here's the "Abigail" and "THEM" lyrics, if it's interesting to someone.

That's creepy, strange, bizzare, and awesome. It's an excellently well put-together picture. I like the shading, too.

The last picture is incredible... excellent shading, so many interesting scenes within, great sketching as well... reminds me of Marco's FLWS illustration for some reason, only uncolored. Perfect collage picture, I love it as is - great work! Smile My only nitpick is quite predictable - there's no Lisa on the picture Wink but Maggie the Ghost makes up for that! Keep up the great work, man.

... Holy!

This is a MASTERPIECE! Wow.... i just relistened to the whole album with this in front of me, gaved me the chills. You really are something, Yggdrasil. Everything is on spot, the characters... Maggie's shape on the stairs is creepy, original, wonderfully drawn! But the architecture.. the architecture!! So many details, the delightful bent perspective of the house and stairs that gives out an INCREDIBLE mood to the whole thing.
Heh... i think i might have another "favourite Simpsons pic" ever here. It makes me depart from this world and go into another one whenever i look at it, especially with its music in background.

Now, please, do one based on Opeth's "My arms, your Hearse" album and i will pledge my soul to you   Wink Eek Twisted

Well...

This is the sort of thinking, how to portray a picture in this detail, that makes me jelous Tongue

If I say so forth-rightly, this picture reminds me a lot of Marco's Lisa Full Life Wo Sagashite picture, in the sence that scenes are crossed over using in picture objects rather than, bold lines in a comic for example.

Although I dont understand any of it, its a fantastic picture. Smile Very good pencil shading yet again...... memories...

Now excuse me, I have to drool over this picture more Tongue

Thanks a lot, people! It's very pleasant that your work is appreciated and has liked.

:/
The whole second man told me that this pic is similar to Marco's one. Well, I must say that it really similar to "Full Life Wo Sagashite". And what is more, I really have taken the idea of Marco to compose on one pic many scenes at once. And that is the only reason why my pic is to compare.
If all it becomes easier then I have to apologize to the owner of the original concept. Wink SimpReal, sorry for "stealing" your idea, but... now your drawing belongs to people. Smile
As to "My arms, your Hearse", I don't promise, that it will become soon. At all I don't promise. I never heard that album, generally I don't know that it exists at all. Big Grin

And thanks a lot to all again!
