We had a first leeching attempt today... two posts and 6 attachments in total involved.
I'm not doing anything so far, only decreased the affected counters back to proper values. Our hosting doesn't have strict traffic limitations, so it's not something dangerous, but I still ask everyone not to link to our attachments directly on another sites. Either link to the post, or use special services like Imageshack (and don't forget to give credits to the author). Smile

In that case, I'd say turn the permission for attachments to guests as "disallow".

But with your set up, I dunno if it'll do anything. Tongue

Nah, I don't want to restrict attachments to registered members only. I want this place to be open and friendly.
I just don't like brutal leeching - one picture was downloaded 8000+ times! Looks more like a DoS attempt to me :/ Although, who would need it? It's just a small forum about Lisa. Smile

The hosting works annoyingly unreliable lately... I keep kicking technical support, but they only respond in the "maintenance stuff, it will be over soon" manner. Sad I hope when it's over, the server will be alive...
Anyway, I keep an eye on it, and if the service becomes even worse, I will think about moving the forum somewhere else.

Yeah, I've noticed a couple of times that style.css and the images were going whack.

Ahem. Just wanted to say that my hoster has decided to perform yet another series of experiments on the server :/ He's making them usually at night/early morning, when sites are less occupied by visitors, unfortunately, this is just the time when people assemble here, on LTS...
Next few days/evenings this forum can behave buggy. Sorry for inconvenience, I hope it ends in no time Smile
