Title: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: ametur_poet on December 14, 2006, 01:48 I've posted a thread like this on other forums, but with few replies.
Lisa Fitzgerald- "Concrete Angel" -Martina McBride Wings- "Superman"- Five For Fighting La Maggio- "She's a Rebel"- Green Day Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: laguna sky on January 04, 2007, 03:17 heh, It would be impossible to put just one song to my fic. Each chapter is a different song, some of them have two. but they just dont have the lyrics.

Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: Gazmanafc on January 17, 2007, 16:13 The Simpson Twins - Stand by me, Ben E. King. :P
And I suppose you could say: Simpsons Fantasy - One Winged Angel, Nobuo Uematsu Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: Dagdamor on January 20, 2007, 16:14 I probably already posted it in the "Song Lyrics" topic, but I personally thing that Norther's "A Fallen Star" (almost wrote "A Star Is Torn" ) perfectly suits Graham's "Child of Darkness". It's a short, dark and angsty song telling about a person (a girl?) losing everything she had in her life. Very much like it happens in the story... poor Lisa which loses her normal life, her future and her family after that tragic incident. :(
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: Casper on January 20, 2007, 22:10 'Gently' by D.B. - 'Gently' by Slipknot
This is easy! :gigi: Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: ametur_poet on January 21, 2007, 02:35 I think Graham's COD is best suited by "Macy's Day Parade" by Green Day [Don't let the song title fool you.] I'll post the song in the Lyrics thread.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: G.H. on February 27, 2007, 04:58 I've only read three, but I'd say "Time" by Pink Floyd goes sort of well with FLWS.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: SimpReal on February 27, 2007, 20:38 For Graham's "CoD" --- Dracula, by Iced Earth.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: laguna sky on February 28, 2007, 00:23 Seeing as how I never finished "Child of Darkness" I would not know, but I bet that it would have to be a pretty dark song to fit that story.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: G.H. on February 28, 2007, 00:48 It certainly sounds like it. I talked to Serge briefly about CoD, and it seemed very dark.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: laguna sky on February 28, 2007, 06:02 It is, I just never finished it. It has a great story line to it though.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: Dagdamor on February 28, 2007, 06:15 /me rolls eyes
You should read it someday imho. It's a terrible story, masterfully written. It's the only story beyond my childhood that made me really cry in the end - decide by yourself how powerful it is... even LF was less cruel to the reader. I still remember it well. SimpReal Can you upload it (the song) somewhere? :) Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: G.H. on March 09, 2007, 00:13 For LisaFan's "Life As a Simpson" I would use "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: G.H. on March 22, 2007, 22:27 I was listening to it today, and I guess Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" can go well with FLWS as well. I'll post it in the song lyrics thread.
Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: G.H. on May 18, 2007, 15:11 Finished reading Serge's "Wings" yesterday, and the Pink Floyd song I posted in Song Lyrics a few days ago fits it pretty well - the song is "Learning to Fly".

Thanks for reading that grammatical horror in the first place. :) Yes, I agree about the song. I can easily imagine Lisa hovering in the skies while singing it. Title: Re: What Song Best Suits a Fanfic? Post by: G.H. on May 20, 2007, 08:06 Dagdamor
Oh please :p It was well translated, and a very nice read :) And besides, I've read much worse :) I'm working on the corrections right now, although I've been dealing with some problems over the past couple days. Shouldn't take me too much longer to finish, though, and then I'll email it over to you :) |
