I can not live without expressing my art ....

my sweet hell _colors

Just the color version of this old scribble... anyway the eyes of lisa are very very very special

freedom

This is a gift to Martin (aka Matrix.dll) , by his support  and by send me energy the last week,  I am very thankful...

your lips

caution: This is a stranger scribble, the simbolism of this is a little secret,  anyway enjoy! lisa is sending a kiss in this picture,

"breathing in your mouth, penetrates your eyes in my eyes, I rushed to hell, only when I want your mouth ... opening my third door, I feel your breathing, your blood inside my body ...

destination and horror ... I'm hiding the blood of my wound ... I will drink your pain, our death

the hell of our eyes, me drink  the honey of your lips"

...No comments so far?  Oh, well, let me be a first one...

About "sweet hell" i've already told you, what i'm thinking.  :star:
As for freedom... Well, thank you so much for the picture, dedicated to me!
I didn't even thought, that at some day Gustavo by himself will send me a gift!
Again, thanks a lot for such a beautiful gift...

As for the "your lips"... This one is very impressive. Especially in combination with your comment to this pic...
Lisa is a bright candle in this darkness, for sure!

I said it so many times, and i'll repeat - your fan-art is most expressive, impressive and powerful from any other i ever saw!..
Thanks for it, and despite of everything, never never never stop drawing Lisa!.. Never!

I especially like”freedom” This imaginative combination of a few deferent objects (Able, butterfly...ECT.) The shading is probably going to be my inspiration for some future work.

I saw these last night when I came home from a friends 18th birthday party. I was a bit *worse for wear* so to speak so wouldnt of made a legible reply lol.

I am so glad to see your pictures again Gustavo.

My fav here has got to be freedom, Martin is lucky. I love always how crisp and sharp the colouring is ad how clean the image looks. Absolutely beautiful.

You have brought a smile to me this morning when i looked properly (and a drunken smile last night too haha).

I like all these drawings but, my personal favourite is 'Your Lips' :P

I love that, every strand and flail of cloth or hair seems to be crafted with the precision and care that you can only get from passionate artists such as yourself. :) Gives the rest of us a standard to aim for! :D

'My Sweet Hell' and 'Freedom' are also great. The colours are fantastic, but my favourite aspect of your colouring style is the soft shading. I also like the detail and significance of the butterflies in your pictures too.

I'm just really glad to see your art again. :)

Welcome back to active status, Gustavo! :)
I like Freedom the best of the three, the colors are very warm. Martin is a lucky fellow, indeed.
I don't understand the symbolism of 'Your Lips' but it reminds me of a couple other old drawings from a while ago in texture and mood. Very nice.

I also love the second pic and the third pic isn't bad either.

These three pics go to my special gallery :D

Freedom is indeed a great picture. I'm really glad to see a "finished" picture from you, Gustavo, although I don't dislike your scribbles. The diversity of your art shows us what a huge imagination and inspiration you must possess. That, in itself, is worth being proud of.

Please keep expressing your art here on the forums. I know it brings a feeling of happiness for many of us.

I told you, what i think of "revelation" pic (at DA), and i'll repeat myself - it's very emotional & symbolic picture (i've tired to repeat myself in my comments to your art... sorry for my poor eng. ;)). I like it a lot!

And... as for the last one (from your "Love impossible" series). Sketch looks wonderful (i've to admit, that Lisa with wings, especially, in your pictures, always looks so lovely :)). Waiting for applying colors…

Very nice drawings, I think that all drawings are nice if they're made with lot of heart and soul, as in your case.
But I can't without saying that "freedom" is my favorite.  :)

Your drawings are so full of heartiness... it's terribly nice that you share your art with us.

Ayee, the picture reminds me of PowerPuffs so much :D
But jokes aside, this is a beautiful sketch. Are there any chances to see it finished? To see the same Lisa but with detailed wings, colored, some effects on blue water... it would make the picture look absolutely fantastic. Hope you have will and free time for finishing it, good luck... :)
P.S. Glad to see optimistic atmosphere on your pictures again!

Post by: matrixdll on November 11, 2008, 23:06
Hey, Gustavo! Last sketch looks very nice and... Am i only think, that the name “love impossible” is unsuitable to this pic? Cuz when i looking at dreamy expression of your face and Lisa’s eyesight (it’s like she asking you “What are you thinkin’ about, Gustavo?”), i believe that love is even very possible!

Although, the name of the sketch (and mystery of artist’s thoughts in this pic) makes me to see here some invisible notes of sadness, holdin’ in mind of that boy, which is sitting near with Lisa... And i don’t want to think so! I want to believe that i made a mistake, saying my last assumption. I want to think that here, in this picture, are only the notes of happiness.

Thanks for sharing! :) As always, can't wait for colored version (but don't push yourself! =)) of at least one of your last sketches...

See ya!

p.s.: a question - what does this symbol (from your text bubble) mean?

Anyway, i must say i like your new "w/o outlines" coloring style much more.
No words about Lisa - she's perfect (for me ;P)!
Must notice that the sky (and clouds) are looking great. The only thing i don't like in pic is TOO bright color of grass (painful for my eyes - i'm always against too bright colors in pics)...

p.s.: thanks for sharing, Gustavo. And, btw, i love the ribbons too on this pic :)

Tanks for sharing the .PSD file.
I have a question: For coloring your pictures, do you draw by hand or do you use graphics tablet?

And I must say that I agree with matrixdll when he says:

Wow, Gustavo! The picture is the dream itself. So colorful, so innocent and peaceful... even the last Lisahater's heart would melt if he sees this :)
You said that the style was an alternative. I must say, it's a nice experiment, and I would like to see more pictures in this style. The only nitpick - few things should still be outlined (just a bit if possible), for example here - Lisa's toes and feathers. Everything else is charming, just amazing. I love it, please draw more. :)

P.S. Love is always possible, even if meeting isn't.

Gustavo
Tanks for sharing the .PSD file.
I have a question: For coloring your pictures, do you draw by hand or do you use graphics tablet?

yeah I used a small tablet , model Genius G-pen 560 (23 USD in my side of the world)
L?ic, a grahics tablet is not necesary to apply colors in a pic...

This are two examples of pic made with a normal mouse...

http://realities.simpworks.com/image/554
http://realities.simpworks.com/image/693

The garphics tablet is just to  the speed in the work, is only a tool... I think that is most important to a artist is the sketch in the paper, with a pencil and a eraser...:)

______________

@ Lisa M.Simpson... Thanks a lot by your positive comment, your words are necesary to my life , and I am happy by this.. :)

______________

@ Serge,... hey Bro! thanks by the tip, I try draw more lisapics with this style, you are a good friend serge and you words are my energy to continue with the pencil...

______________

Well.. This is a weird pic... Lisa in a real beach, sun, swimsuits and a lot of sand.... the pic is made with vectors, .SVG  (Inskcape) , and the background is a surprise!  ;) ... the motive of this pic?  :D, a OC session with Martin days ago and a the next summer in my side of the world...

*download and enjoy ....  :p

Post data: 800x600 version , this is perfect as wallpaper  ^^

It is.   But it looks like she has two left hands, maybe this should be fixed. ;)

Title: Re: reality and desire...
Post by: Dagdamor on November 18, 2008, 12:05
Agreed with Andreas, Lisa's left hand looks wrong. The picture is good, but I'm not sure about the whole idea of combining the real world images with the drawn style (the difference in styles is very noticeable, although here it's not that bad because Lisa is alone). Also, Lisa's pearls look separated.

Title: Re: reality and desire...
Post by: Lisa M. Simpson on November 18, 2008, 17:20
Two right hands :D, could be interpred like a sign in converse of two left hands, which is a saying in German ("to be all thumbs", I think this is the English component). On the first view it looks idiosyncratic, especially in case of our reality in the background and your simpson-reality in foreground which raise her much, but it isn't implicitly degressive. Thank you, your drawings make me feel better, also this time.  :D

about the background....

same here, but remember that "wow, real sand" is weird (and experimental) pic and me like the idea of a real background, other example is cherry lisa 4 special edition, the background in a japanese photo...

talking with sincerity I draw a background to this pic, but I delete the layer because I am very bad drawing backgrounds (by the moment)  :) , anyway thanks again, your comment and suggestions are very necesary to improve my style or skills with the pencil...

Huh? But you did posted this before (i dont remember in which thread exactly, but i'm sure you did that)

Anyway, your pencil artworks are something!!! And this picture, imho, is one of your best. Not because of technical level or havin’ a highly-detailed background (like in your "she Is The Angel" or "Bitterness" pictures), but, FIRST OF ALL, very positive and bright tones of emotions, you had drawn in it.
Gustavo’s picture with smiling and happy Lisa – what else should we have to cheer up in sad moments of life? =)

This picture awake a jaunty delight. The Birds flying in the background and the loose clouds, the enormous sun, beach and sea, you could say it's typical, but it is somehow unique too. It's like she wants to show us that there's nothing between us and the idyllicly paradisiacal world, in which we all already live. Great!  :)

Hey, that's cool - add a Starfleet communicator, and she can easily replace Deanna Troi or Seven of Nine. :) I'm a bit confused about the black liquid drops, though, what is that supposed to be - blood!?

It is not blood.... It is black liquid, and exist a direct relation between this and the simbols in the floor

This pentacle represents Greek goddess Kore that's, translated - Girl. Persephone, as she is also called, is a goddess of the dead, the underworld and the fertility. So, is Lisa rising from the dead or the underworld to bring us love? Is there a connection to the fertility?
Mathematically, tha pentacle has the golden ratio that represents perfection.
Geometrically, it's the symbol for the fifth science, that acts for rationality, temperance and the truth seeking mind. Its five spikes --> :lisa: show the goodnesses like: intelligence, fairness, fortitude, frugalness and assiduity.

What would also apply to Lisa is mercifulness and equipollency...

I still wonder what this dripping black fluid substance means...

Could you reveal what this flying thing on the top of your picture is?

Now I have an idea: As the pentacle also represents the circuit of life and there's a connection through Kora to the four seasons of a year, could it be the spring, the rising or elevation of love and life, and those substance simply liquefied water? Then, those flowers at the heart would fortify this interpretation.

Wow you are very smart!   and your theories is 90.% perfect ^^ ...

This pentacle represents Greek goddess Kore that's, translated - Girl. .... / Geometrically, it's the symbol for the fifth science,....../  Its five spikes

YEAH!  you are right ... :)  I am surprised ^^...  yeah the spykes in this pentacle have a relation with lisa...

So, is Lisa rising from the dead or the underworld to bring us love? Is there a connection to the fertility?

 ...  yes, exist othe relation in this theme, the life of the mortals is a circle of life and death, to the human culture the woman is the holy simbol of the fertility.... but too the death... a direct relation with Kore (Persephone)... again I am surprised... you are very smart!

I still wonder what this dripping black fluid substance means...

the black liquid is the dark desire, mirror of the love and the sins, exist a conection between this and the sexuality... , and my words and this black and the real simbol of the black liquid have a relation with the colors of the flowers  and the color of the socks of lisa..(white and black)

Could you reveal what this flying thing on the top of your picture is?

It is fire.... pssstt -...I can't talk about this ..secret  :p (but have a direct relation with the word "door", that I use in old comments or pics)

Now I have an idea: As the pentacle also represents the circuit of life and there's a connection through Kora to the four seasons of a year, could it be the spring, the rising or elevation of love and life, and those substance simply liquefied water? maybe, I don't know  ;)

... Congrulations! , and thanks a lot by your theories about my sketch!  :star:  I am very happy by read your words. ^^

Post data: all the simbols is a resume of the title of the sketch "elevation"... the theme is a bit dark but nice ^^

I already wondered about her feet and if that's a mistake...  :D

It's like an analyis of her headdress, her 8 spikes could mean the five goodnesses (intelligence, fairness, frugalness, fortitude and assiduity) plus the truth seeking mind and those two I added (mercifulness and equipollency).

I'll be honest .... I enjoy a lot with the expression of my feelings in a pic... I sincerely hope you enjoy it too ... There's little to say about the picture .... the silence is much better when you express your mind with a pencil and the solitude is a good companion if you understand her etheral whisper .... usually the silence of my room is solitude... but now is music,...now, each note fades among the whispers of my house ....

everything is full of life .... perhaps I too .... and as always, Lisa live in my empty heart as the flame and force of my  soul.
I've said this a lot of times .... The show must go on

Like always in such cases, I have no words, only feelings :)

Re: 1st picture - aww! The drawing is a bit "intimate", but the emotions are so strong. Well, at least she made a decision, hope that answered "someone" will make her happier.

Re: 2nd picture - the chosen perspective has made me smile a bit for the obvious reason :) but the picture has something that I was eager to see for a long time - to see how her wings are actually connected to her body... this probably sounds stupid, but that's how I am... thanks for showing me that :) and the scene is very romantic, too bad I cannot see Lisa's expression, although I can guess it. Wonderful picture, and like on some of your previous works, you did amazing job with the feathers, very realistic.

Wow...well,er, your recent picture " I need you" kinda tugged at me a little emotionaly that I had to say something :(...

I havn't been active around the sketchbook part of LTS for sometime and I guess this has drawn me back a bit. I have just 20 minutes before the end of my lunch break and I feel I should say a few words on your art...

It's SO good to see your work continue and progress, develop for such a long time, and not to stop! Your pictures are always presented in this romantic, beautiful light with a lot of detail and passion gone in to them...
I also feel you've improved in areas such as backgrounds, scenery, and composition.
So, overall, although I don't say it enough I do keep up with your work and love seeing how it develops over time :)

Our Gustavo, like always are his paintings full of expressiveness...
To the first, there is not much to say - like you said. But the second is awesome. The panorama is capital, her great wings looks fluffy as her head, but have some skipy tops. Every moment I see her flying away...

Fantastic drawings as usual.

"I Need You" something struck me with extreme emotion when looking at this picture. I was also listening to the following track when i looked at this picture. I found myself staring at the picture during listening. I can imagine he listening to the same track laying there.

I fail to see any similarity between the latest picture and CoD :/ In Gustavo's picture, Lisa does look like a heroine, great job by showing that side of her soul and character... in the story, she held a sword only once, and was very scared in that scene, it wasn't a heroic act, it was an act of despair... anyway, I like this picture, even if it looks unfinished and also rushed in some places. Hope you will finish and color it someday!

Because Lisa looks so much like the Warrior of Light (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/7/7c/Dissidia_Fighter.JPG) who will be representing the original Final Fantasy game. Heh. I wanna get IV on the DS too, but III comes first since it is the last remaining core Final Fantasy I have not completed. (Well, I've not completed XII either but that just plain sucks)

And if that dragon would fire spitting then - for me - it would be perfect...  :)

In spite of everything it looks lovely, now you should colour it, a cool colour for her armor and sword and warm colours for her skin, hair and cloak and maybe clothing too. The background should be dip in light mist... *sigh* That would be a good drawing...  :D

The first one caught my eyes more, because it has interesting plot and you pictured yourself too. It's amazing to see such pictures, when artist shows his thoughts, explains his feelings without words, and you can understand them. Even the fact that you have visual similarity to Lisa (this can be explained with the style used, but I think that's not a coincidence) tells something.

Visual similarity on the drawing, I mean. :)
And correct me if I'm wrong, but that similarity been drawn on the picture, should mean nothing but inner similarity in the real life, you and Lisa being the soulmates. At least that's how I got that, and I see nothing wrong in that, we all here have much in common with Lisa herself, otherwise we wouldn't be here...

True... Love (in any type of it) is when you find a part of yourself in someone, and let/give all remained to this someone.

In the "Love impossible" pic it looks so touching, how Lisa is holding the hand of a lil' boy... Most of all i like this "out of this world" like expression of her dreamy face (especially eyes... the eyes are hypnotising )

Where should I start, by the peacefulness, the wonderful Lisa herself, by her soft wings that seems like pillows, her pacific mien, by the thin cover that indicate warm temperatures - like in summer, the warm colours or the pristine whiteness that even her wings get a grey shading...
Or the feelings - happiness and jollity.

Yeah Gustavo, you manage it once again - to cast out worries and headaches even if they will come back for sure in a little while. Like you said they're just fantasies, spawns of our morbid society - better better, faster faster - (and if you really have to act fast - debilitating tranquillity)...
Simply want to doze off and awake there with her together.

It's funny because what I like in the 'Groening's version' of Lisa is the intelligence, the maturity but also the sadness of the character. And what I like in your version is the innocence and the happiness.

Anyway, I'm always happy when I see a new drawing from you. So please keep drawing!

Fully agree with this.

And to your new pictures: *sigh*, what a wonderful weather!
To the Lisa picture: obstinación = stubbornness? To make the world a better place? A pretty drawing. If you find something more, share it with us!

As for the "Aozora_no_Knife" pic, me imagine how Lisa is dancing in some open-air night club placed on summer beach, right near the sea (just like in Sochi city, for example... it's about 300km far away from my town)...
Very cute picture, Gustavo! ^^ I like it a lot...
The only sign of sad motive of this pic possibly could be that Lisa has turned away from us, hiding her face... But i think she's just dancing too twisty, so she turned only for a moment :) For me this is a happy mood picture.

And, by the way

Wow... Is that how your beach looks in winter? Nice...
I hope you'll not against if i'll post a picture of first snow in my town (funny thing: it fell out in the morning of 25 December :)). Although snow had been falling not too long, but still, it’s first for this month…

Current weather: -7°C and, thank God, no cold wind - every element of the landscape doesn't move, looks like time is frozen =)

the winter and the summer are very similar in the temperature : always between 20 and 30 Cº at the 12:00 pm, the problems are the clouds, in the winter a lot, and as I live in a desertic place the first hours of the day are a bit cold (10 or 14 Cº) ...and in special the nights...^^

Okay, English mixed with Spanish is okay to me, but Spanish mixed with Chinese is a bit too much for my eyes... "understood: nothing" :p/me looks at the picture with no knife.
I still don't understand it, but it's wonderful! The ribbon on Lisa's right arm should be fixed, probably... or maybe better not. :)

When you think about the places that Gustavo posts his art, Graham (Graz = Graham BTW) is right. They get posted on very few places, and thus are exposed to a very limited group of people. Gustavo, you should start posting your art on more sites and forums. :P

The last one Aozora no Knife while it is good for most part (I like the dress) you can only get so much from the back. What about the front. I'd like to see Lisa's face. :P

I have been thinking the same for a while now. We all have our preferred forums and sites. (Gary ought to know where I prefer hang our.) But maybe it would be a good idea for all of us to look a bit “over the fence.”

Well, that is really up to people self to decide. I am just suggesting that people sometimes look by other places. Like I have just (re)started posting some drawings here and at Simpworks.

My dear Gustavo ;) This is awesome, as Graz said - very soft and gentle, and somehow sensual, especially throgh this black thin cover and her eyes - I love them, they're fascinating and magnetic - lyrically dreaming!. This mobile phone looks realistic and plastic - I think you made an effort, didn't you?  I can nearly feel her fluffy hair... *sigh* Equal how many words I said - it's hard to discribe art - they could even derogate it...

You should know I'm not "adulating" you, you really deserve that homage!

Technical details. I sometimes do find the technical details interesting. They can sometimes also be an inspiration. Nevertheless. What matters is the finished result. This is an excellent drawing.

Ohhh, her eyes! I love her eyes - they are like blue crystals, and if you look inside them, they are endless like the blue sea. The black blanket is quite unusual for Lisa, but black always gives you a nice contrast to her yellow skin. As usual, this is also full of symbolism again; she's reaching out to her cell phone, waiting for someone to "rescue" her from being lonely, eaten up by the black oblivion, while the red pillow both represents her usual outfit and the love that she's still holding to.

After a google on the title of the video, it's seems that the game is a fighting game called Fatal Fury (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_Fury_(series)). But I'm not sure because I didn't know this game.

@Loic.

friend... but this is one of the most important games in the history of the Arcade ... KOF since 1994 (made by SNK) ....Terry Bogard is a legend and the principal character of the Fatal Fury saga.

*me remember the NEO-GEO...and the Hiper Neo Geo64... (Thanks at God exist the MAME emulator :p)
awwie memories... my nick "CCD!" in my nick in this type of games since 1996...I am a real old fox in the NEO GEO  :D  (why CCD!?... is other story) n_n

if do you like , you can play this game, his gamplay is very single (and hard, if you are good with the skills of the characters, is only a "big game of fight, and a real classic) ... :) , if do you have a PSX (or his emulator) fatal Fury Wild Ambition is a excellent option...

well.. you can call me "old"  ;)  if I don't play playstation3 or Xbox 360... but I love the old videogames...(i have a real NES, 8 bits in the living room, and my dear PSX).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e29CBXfXQ6k .. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNmZ_JeDnEs

in this moment you can play KOF XII (2008)

___hmmm hey a moment! x_X my thread is to talk about Lisa ,  but not to talk about the "old school" of the gamers... hee hee sorry ...  :red:, the time flies...  :D

"Alternative love" , is a alternative pic , of a alternative universe...

I could not accurately explain the story behind the picture ... this is to your own interpretation .... However, freedom is one of the foundations of love ...

Title: Re: Sun
Post by: Dagdamor on January 06, 2009, 23:56
Gustavo
I'm not good at interpreting pics, but...
Who is that person behind Lisa (I'm confused with the proportions, they look female to me) - is that Maggie (hairstyle is very similar), or... you? :) In the first case, I'm puzzled... Maggie admits Lisa in love, and Lisa neglects that and alienates her :o no, both parts are impossible. If that's you, then... then I hope the story will continue in more bright way. :) Technically the sketch is good, a bit overdone with symbols, but the scene is very dynamic, which is unusual for you - you tend to draw "static" situations more. Unusual move, and I like how it turned out. Sweet (although a bit sad) drawing, please keep it up.

Title: Re: Sun
Post by: Gustavo on January 06, 2009, 23:58
Who is that person behind Lisa

Maggie, and her feelings about Lisa is the principal motive of the name of the picture...anyway is just a alternative reality.

Interesting, interesting ... a very emotional scene ... pathetic eyes ... "end of the world"(symbolically)... maybe a "dismissive" love from one side but definitely upsetting from both. And two butterflys which stays in a complete contrast to those girls, somehow they show an example. Sympathetic feelings, that makes a essence to a more "filled" character.
Gustavo, will you colour it?
