Title: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on October 18, 2008, 23:58 Here, at this thread i’ll post only colorings of other contributors’ sketches (from their permission, of course).
Well, here’s my first coloring: “Love impossible” (art by Gustavo a.k.a. CCD). Hope you like it… :) UPD: i also placed here the second version of colored “L.i.”. I can’t describe my feelings through words, like Gustavo can… But colors in the second picture are showing my alternative feelings (which are closer to my heart) after watching the sketched picture. Enjoy… to CCD: My apologies, Gustavo, for what i didn’t ask you about this second picture. Just wanted to make a surprise ;) p.s.: Love will be even more impossible… without LTS :( Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: Gustavo on October 19, 2008, 01:48 thanks by the three gifts...
ouch... no no... the two gifts--- Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: OPUS on October 19, 2008, 04:17 I love that coloring, Matrixdll. I think you and CCD would make a great team. Kudos!
Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on October 19, 2008, 05:49 Thanks, OPUS... =)
Perhaps it would be a good idea - to color every CCD's uncolored sketch... =) Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: Casper on October 19, 2008, 11:34 The colours are just awesome. The art is great too but... have to admit I think the colour really does make the picture shine. :) The black and white on the other hand suits the mood of the picture more, giving it a great atmosphere.
You guys would indeed make a great team. :) But dont feel compelled, you shouldnt forget about your own work too ;) Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on October 19, 2008, 22:15 Thanks a lot for your comment, Casper! =)
Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: Gustavo on October 19, 2008, 22:27 But dont feel compelled, you shouldnt forget about your own work too ;) yeah... Your art is beatiful, and in special your skills with the colors, and the power to draw feelings in a picture ... (gustavo remember a pic of colour pink with lisa inside (and with a nice letter) ;)... beatiful.. me print this picture ... in this moment the picture in the wall of my room .... draw more please, your art is pleasure in my eyes... :star: Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on October 19, 2008, 22:48 Quote draw more please, your art is pleasure in my eyes... I'll try to not fail you... and Lisa :lisa:... and LTS! ;)Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: Empethree on October 20, 2008, 02:46 I love gustavo's work and i love your work, and you two together is fantastic.
1st is eautifully coloured, really sets the mood. As Casper said it makes an already good picture shine more. 2nd again good choice od colour to set a dreamy theme to the picture. Great work. Always good to see stuff like this. Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on October 20, 2008, 02:55 Quote Always good to see stuff like this. And for me, it's always good to see, that somebody really like this stuff ;)Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: SimpReal on October 20, 2008, 15:15 Really touching coloring works, Matrix, an example of how you can use color in two different ways... as a medium for realism and as a medium for abstraction. Even if everyone can always improve the technique here and there, or use more spiffy and nifty effects, or super details... there's still lots of feeling in these works, even because i can say by experience, coloring drawings done by others is much more difficult than coloring your own. :)
Well done and thank you, but don't neglect your personal projects either ! ;) Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on October 20, 2008, 22:46 Quote Well done and thank you, but don't neglect your personal projects either ! I shan't... Thanks for the comment, Marco! =)Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: G.H. on October 26, 2008, 07:24 I know this comment is a bit late, but I feel this picture deserves acknowledgement - the colors here are just wonderfully done. You can really set the mood to a picture by simply adding color. In this case you've shown the mood very well - great job is all I can say.
Title: Re: Matrixdll?s coloring artworks? Post by: Dagdamor on November 27, 2008, 19:50 Another thread I managed to miss
We had a big discussion about these pictures before, and after time passed, I started to like this style - the dreamy atmosphere in it is powerful to the max :) especially on the first picture. And all those details on the background, the good mix of colors, the perspective, gives you the feeling of peace. Despite that, I still feel that Lisa's proportions should be obeyed better. At least give her a visible mouth :red: Still a beautiful picture, the only issue was probably caused by my tastes. Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on November 28, 2008, 22:38 G.H., Dagdamor
Thanks, guys! And now, Up! Just a color fix of an old image from CCD’s gallery, which i like very much... Enjoy! Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: Lisa M. Simpson on November 29, 2008, 13:03 I'm bound to say that the fixed one looks a little bit better. And that they're many other pictures which should be colored and perhaps fixed too. Not that they aren't good enough yet. :)

One of the lights are still inside of Lisa's stomach :D Wonderful picture and you made it looking better. I like the shading on her dress especially, looking quite natural. I won't nitpick on Lisa's face because that's how it was on the original sketch :) but if I'm not wrong, you remade all the stars sky, and I like how it looks. Title: Re: Matrixdll’s coloring artworks… Post by: matrixdll on November 30, 2008, 00:55 Quote I won't nitpick on Lisa's face Nitpick? o_OBut it looks so great (maybe only the ear should be a bit smaller, but this is totally imho) Quote but if I'm not wrong, you remade all the stars sky, and I like how it looks. no, i edited only character shading...Just to remind (orig. pic) -> http://realities.simpworks.com/image/469 |
