Lisa, the Simpson!

Well, it's out. Finally. In the US and UK (it came out in the UK First)

The episodes themselves are sub-par as we all know. But the special features are quite good, a lot of deleted scenes and bonus deleted scenes including the maybe-not-so-famous Space Maggie clip.

While the artwork themselves on the box is nice, the actual method of storing the discs is not, you gotta slide them in and out of small cardboard pocketed sleeves, rather then placing them in trays, which is my main gripe with the set, so much so, I'm looking into seeing if I can buy a custom set that follows the previous sets, that is if FOX don't re-release it and offer a mailer.

I'd still have to wait two more days, but then again, I will not pay 45 EUR for this set. I just found out that the price for season 10 dropped to 19,95 EUR at Amazon, and the shipping is free! So I ordered it right now. It surely pays when you can wait a bit. :)

The artwork is quite nice.
But those cardboard sleeves have me worried. Either that they will brake, or that the DVD’s will be scratched if you pull them in and out too many times. I am planning on keeping my DVD’s in some separate sleeves.

Funny you it came out today, I didn't even know, just saw it down town and.... just bought myself the box :P

I muse agree though, the art work is fantastic :) yet the storage...I panicked for a second when I first opened it 'cos I first thought they forgot to put the dvds in it D: then realised it was slip out, and was slightly dissapointed but ah well...
I'm not mad on season 11, but being a Simpson nerd at heart, I couldn't resist, plus some eps as I remember weren't too bad ^_^

I bought myself a big bag of popcorn and some cola, so I'm all set f or tonight :D

Wouldn't ya know it? I wait more than 9 months for this thing to come out and when it does I'm in no position, finacially, to buy it! I stared at it for 5 minutes in the store last night... that packaging sucks! The store already dropped the price from $45 to $30! x_x

45 Euro? That's pretty much the same it costs here...
I can't remember a single episode in the Season 11 I liked too much, so I better buy that Season 6 that still waits for me, then look for the further seasons. :) Although, I rarely watch episodes from original DVD boxes lately - the process is too inconvenient, much easier to just run an episode on PC.

BTW, not so long ago, our official FOX distributor (FOXRussia) started to release Simpsons DVDs with russian translations. The design is pretty much the same (a bit worse than the original, though, especially Season 2), but the content is nice. Bought everything that came out so far - seasons 1 and 2 - watching them from time to time now, the episodes are great. :)
