OK good idea..... Those who like racing:

Live For Speed - Racing sumulator.

This game has advanced physics which emulate a real care more closely than most commercial games.

OK so the full version is not free, but the free limited version gives some cars and online play so you can race others online.

Fairly good graphics and the dials on the dashbpoard actually work, you can run out of fuel! And the clock is a real clock, it displays the real time as set on your computer. Plus you get indicators, hazard warning lights ect.

Looking for a turn-based strategy game for free?
UFO Alien Invasion is an Open Source game based on the Quake II Engine (so it can run on Windows, MacOS and Linux). The little problem is that it's still in development :gigi: (but you can play with it anyway).

Here are some screenshots: http://ufoai.ninex.info/gallery/ingame-screenshots/

maybe the big problem of windows is the trash in the register (regedit) in the moment of install o delete a new software... with the time your computer is slow and more slow... hmmm...  ...  big point...

ccleaner and other helper in reality only can serach somes invalid register keys... but exist a solution to live with a computer "happy" and with health...

To delete a program with security and in a 100% of your systen you need this: "Revo Uninstaller", Revo unnistaller is very, but veryu easy to use, a big help to unnistall by complete a program in a Windows pc.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/    .. This is a big program to a long (and quick) life of your pc by years... anyway if do you need clean the register of Windows with peace in the mind think in this small program.

http://www.wisecleaner.com/soft/WRC3Setup.exe (direct download)

if after of this your pc is slow again... think in a possible malware... avast, kaspersky or any antivirus is not the solution... a lot of programs (free of viruses) too have little malwares inside... check with your normal AV and too with "Threat fire" ....

http://www.threatfire.com/

and of course disable "autorun" to any device of your system (usb, optical devices, etc)... ;)

Post data: (of course.. all is freeware... ) :gigi:

2 programs I use for system maintenance are

1> CCleaner (CrapCleaner). this program makes it easy to lean out temporary files from the system including all popular web browsers such as IE, Firefox, Opera ect. It also supports many other programs too, such as Media Player, eMule, Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Netscape, MS Office, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip and more, clearing out thier temporary files.. It is pretty much one click to clean. It also has a built in registry cleaner and a more advanced windows startup and add/remove programs panel. I have used it for quite a long time and it is quick and hasnt caused any problems like some other registry products. Supported by Yahoo Toolbar, so if like me who hates Yahoo software with a passison, watch out for the "install yahoo toolbar" box on the installer and untick it"

http://www.ccleaner.com

2> SuperAntiSpyware. This is a good malware remover. Seems to be very thorough unlike most commercial products (*cough* Norton *cough*). I tend to only load it to do periodic scans or to scan other machines as the free version does not do real time protection anyway. But used in conjunction with other products to thouroughly clean (like threatfire as mentioned in previous post) it makes sure your computer is extremely secure

thinking in a new cellphone (or smartphone)?...  :) ... thinking in a Iphone 3G?... a moment! a moment! if do you live in europe or in north america please check this new option of "diamond" the HTC.

the money necesary to purchase this beatiful smartphone is 100 euro in your side of the world ($84000 pesos in my country, Chile , the next week)...

This phone run on Windows mobile 6.1 , and of course is touchscreen, GPS with the mode of install other type of software to this (the Iphone only used Google maps) , too can create documents of MS word or MS Excel , (a good option to our job), the phone of "apple" only can read this type of documents (by the moment) , HTC is too very small.

the web browser of this machine is Opera mobile and is 100% compatible with flash web pages, Opera is a nice web browser fast and elegant to mobiles,  :) ... too included a camera of 3.2 MP with autofocus, and conection 3.5 G, bluetooht and wifi (802.11g)...

The bad points of The diamond are two: The first in the OS (Windows mobile :gigi:) and the bad battery of this machine  ;)

well the smartphone is not free or freeware X) but is a good option and you can save money and purchase a beatiful cellphone ^^

see ya!

"freeware break" news...  :)

Well... the time flies in the speed of the internet flies too (in special in japan) .... , do you know the word "cloud computing"...

check this video...
http://vimeo.com/2111337?pg=embed&sec=2111337

The cloud computing in simple words  is our software and services in live in the own web, ... or web apps, or a complete OS in a remote server... is possible but in 5, 10 or 12 years more... but the concept of "cloud computing" is a reality now with services as Gmail, google documents, or airmax, the  midori  project in windows , etc etc etc...... anyways is a theme of "time", the concetion wi-fi is PAST since somes weeks ago with concepts as Wimax in japan and EUA or latinamerica, or the popular 3G or 3.5G in all the world...

a nice example...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qB3GN6KOMk

the next generation of chipset and cpu (by example geo of amd or atom of intel) in combination of low money and the creativity of the human mind , is a simbol of progress... as the  MID's or the nettops.... ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91vFlhzI5rY&feature=related ) they are  portable computers  and a window  at the web services...

....  :) .. is nice think in the future and a real community dancing in the web,  the future is waiting in the next corner...  :)

Speaking of freeware astronomy programs, you should also check out Celestia, which is a 3D solar system simulator. It requires a powerful graphics card, but flying around the planets (that show real textures, based on space probe images) is pretty amazing. There's also a large amount of "add-ons" available, with loads of new textures, guided tours, and even fictional worlds from Star Trek, Star Wars and more. I think you can easily fill your HD with more than 10 GB of realistic data alone.
