Title: Results! and err an apology from moi!... Post by: Black_raven on August 24, 2008, 16:36 Just to quickly say sorry for not being active as usual, I have been checking lts but in most cases I've had to skim read most post so I'm rather behind, even on my own topics x_x
Reason being is right now I'm with Mat/Casper. He was round mine but we were rather busy with parties etc to attend to after results day, and I'm now currently round his where only one of the computer's internets working atm and it's usualy occupied by everyone else :P Soo...as for results, felt like sharing the news since I did post my art on here... Firstly, I got into my uni of choice - Gloucestershire, which is great :) Meant I got the required amount of 280 points which was the highest on all my offers :P As for results I got... Art - B History - B Classics - D Which, isn't bad though I was rather dissapointed that I got a B in art, AGAIN >_< After trying my absolute 100% best to get an A...apparently we had the same moderator from last year who gave me a B then but gave my friend who did more modern art, wasn't bad, but was completly different, an A...and many others too which makes me feel he was somewhat bias...but ah well....Could just be me O_o... As for classics..I have no clue why I got a D  but I don't really care too much :P Important thing is I got some great memories from those lessons and the trips to Italy and Greece :D History, I was very pleased with since I got B,B, A (99/120), which is probably one of the best results from a written exam I've ever got :) Sooo, overall guess that makes up for the slight dissapointment. Anyway I'll stop rambling on and allow others to share whatever results they've got too if they so wish to ^_^ EDIT: Sorry forgot to add to those who don't know, they're my A level (A2) results :) Title: Re: Results! and err an apology from moi!... Post by: Empethree on August 24, 2008, 17:32 Grats of getting the uni of choice. I do think you deserved an A in art. But I do think you should be proud of those still.
My A-Levels didnt quite go to plan... thus why I am in a dead end job heh heh! Title: Re: Results! and err an apology from moi!... Post by: D.B. on August 24, 2008, 21:48 Well done :) . So long as you've gotten into the university you wanted, don't worry too much beyond that (there's always bit syou feel you could have done better/worse in). For the record though, your art stuff looked fantastic, so I dunno why you'd not get an A beyond weird mark schemes (which sadly abound).
Whatcha studying at uni then? Title: Re: Results! and err an apology from moi!... Post by: janglewolf on August 25, 2008, 21:23 Belated congratulations! I guess the trouble with a subject like art is there's always going to be an element of subjectivity in the marking, there shouldn't be but that's human nature :).

Skimming posts is okay, I've become an expert in the art of speed-reading thanks to LTS! *is shot* Good to hear from you though... I've already chatted with you about this, but I'll say here that your results aren't bad. While they may not be the desired ones, at least you got into uni. Keep going Rachel :) Your life is just beginning. Title: Re: Results! and err an apology from moi!... Post by: Black_raven on August 27, 2008, 02:39 Thanks All ^_^
As for what I'm studying at uni, I am doing a 3 year course in illustration :P Not strictly animation, or fine art as in paintings, but stuff like storyboarding, comics, drawings for book covers, game concept art, music albums, you get the idea :D Since I was little I've liked the idea of being paid for doing something I enjoy, in this case, doodling :gigi:, so overall I suppose I'm rather lucky for always knowing what route in life I've wanted to follow :) Once again, thanks for all the kind words and support :) |
