Title: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: SimpReal on November 23, 2006, 13:33 Link to the Round Robin Thread (http://www.lisa-simpson.net/topic/48.0)
This is quite some interesting developement: the way facts are evolving is pretty adult for one that expects "The Simpsons" kind of humour, but once switched registry to the "dark aura" that seems to permeate this story, it flows well and nice, and interesting. You guys are good. :) I hope you'll continue this... andi hope for things to get better for the lovely Simpsons family! :lisa: :marge: :homer: :bart: :maggie: Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: ametur_poet on November 23, 2006, 19:12 I hope so too. The way things are going right now... Well, anyway, thank you for opening this thread, Marco! I forgot to set up a discussion thread.
Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: Dagdamor on June 02, 2007, 13:55 Just noticed we already have a discussion thread for this Round Robin... d'oh :)
The reason I wanted to have this topic at hand, is: I know ametur_poet is building up his own plot with the story, maybe even basing it on real events... :( what about changing the current situation a bit? ametur_poet, would you mind if the story will go somewhere away from angst? It won't be possible to take the plot back then, but on the other hand, it won't be as sad anymore. What do you think? Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: ametur_poet on June 03, 2007, 04:16 I've been trying to do that since it was up at GFC, but other people that were in the RR were dragging it back in, and I was following along so as to not make the story awkward. Now, I'm trying to ease into making it happier.

So, you're not against if someone would add his/her own plotline, or add some events which would possibly contradict with your story? If so, I will try to make the story more "alive" with my next Lisa day. :) Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: ametur_poet on June 04, 2007, 01:14 As long as it doesn't drastically change everything all at once, go ahead. If you do want to drastically change it, do it slowly, and over the course of several diary entries. If all you're doing is changing the mood of the story a certain amount, it's fine. My reason for saying these things is that it gets annoying when a story goes from one thing to another fast. It makes you wonder if you missed something.

Oh no, to make drastic changes isn't what I wanted :) I just wanted to pull the story away, partially or even completely from the plot about Homer's illness. I want to see Lisa thinking more about uplifting things. Right now I'm not sure what exactly, but I will try to post there soon. Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: ametur_poet on June 12, 2007, 02:43 Like I said, if you want to make changes, even to the story's mood and plot focuses, please make them gradual so as to not make the changes abrupt.
Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: Dagdamor on June 18, 2007, 16:18 ametur_poet
Oh, don't worry about that... I don't want to make abrupt changes. In fact, I'm still not sure where to aim the story now, but I will try to make it smooth in any case. Heck, writing coherent plots isn't easy... Title: Re: Drama RR: Lisa's Diary : Discussion Thread Post by: ametur_poet on June 24, 2007, 00:51 We've meet with Allison today and she told me a news that made my heart beat. Her family is going to a summer house for a month, and they want me to go with them. "I can't see you constantly depressed, I want you to forget about your troubles and cheer up," she said to me. I don't want to leave Dad when he still needs help, but for some reason, Allison's offer sounded so nice to me. I still have about a week do decide until they depart from Springfield, and if Dad's condition will be good, I think I'll go. I need to change my surroundings for some time. Do I smell a hint of Little Pwagmattasquarmsettport? [Yes, I still remember how to spell it from my Summer of 4 Ft 3 script. :) ]Now I'm going to talk to Mom about that... LOL, who knows, who knows. :p Thanks for supporting that subplot though! Let's hope Lisa will have good time resting there (or at least interesting to read... :D) |
