Title: OC Sessions Post by: laguna sky on December 01, 2007, 21:40 Well, I have finally done an OC session with our premier artist Syke. :P Anyway after a few requests, here it is.
Caution some bad language Everyone is free to put there sessions on this thread too Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Black_raven on December 01, 2007, 22:01 Haha that was awesome!
I really need to get my OC working again sometime I am probably very bad and rusty in using tablet now! >_< but yeah once I am in the right state of mind I shall try to sort out the OC (hey it's a Saturday night!) Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on December 02, 2007, 14:13 *knocks cane against monitor* You call this drawing??? :D
Jokes aside, it was awesome, even if the amount of writing was bigger than the amount of pics ;) But that StarWars parody was absolutely brilliant. :gigi: Great job, I hope to see more sessions here! Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Empethree on December 03, 2007, 01:53 is there any other way to view the file out of OC? I have not got it installed on my main computer yet due to various net problems and issues with the computer, I am trying to keep this computer light and not install much at the moment.
Otherwise I shall wait til i install it when i get things sorted :) Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: SimpReal on December 03, 2007, 09:00 is there any other way to view the file out of OC? I have not got it installed on my main computer yet due to various net problems and issues with the computer, I am trying to keep this computer light and not install much at the moment. There's no need to install anything, OC is just a simple .exe file, so you could just download the wpe file, use "open with" and feed it to the OC executable.Otherwise I shall wait til i install it when i get things sorted :) You can download the OC exe here: http://www.aufzugmusik.de/oC11b72.exe Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: SpringfieldHorror on December 03, 2007, 16:04 Downloaded the .exe, how do I use OC? Could someone give me a basic guide on like, how to connect to a network something? I've never used OC before. >.<

I don't remember properly how to draw on it - but iirc, you just start it, then you have to create a server with it (Network - Show Network Window - Stand By), then tell your IP address to other participants so they could connect to your server. Then you all draw, and the program remembers all your moves automatically. :) When you close the program, it allows you to save the session into a .wpe file. And if you just want to playback a WPE, just import it (File - Import Event File). I assume the program shows english messages to you, because it appeared in japanese to me once. Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: laguna sky on December 13, 2007, 02:31 here is one more session that I did with Syke.
Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: SimpReal on December 13, 2007, 08:06 I'm sorry i couldn't show up yesterday, but i came back home way too late and i went straight to bed... but tonight i'd be available :)
Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on December 13, 2007, 17:14 Hey... it looks like we have two different OC Sessions threads here now... ;)
laguna sky, nice one, and I see that you drew both pictures without even using construction lines... kudos  although this can be inconvenient, since you can't properly watch the proportions. But good sketches there! Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: laguna sky on December 13, 2007, 17:48 well Dags, I have a tendancy toward doing my drawing more than once. the first is the normal sketch, then I go back over it to try and correct the proportions and then I work on the finish product. my Chibi pic is a perfect example of that. I did the pic like 4 times before I was happy with it.and in doing that it gives me a lot of practice.
Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: OPUS on January 01, 2008, 19:27 Justa proof that I've lost the handle of the wacom. Is there anyone who wants to draw right now. I'm all free right now. This was the first attemp on oc since I did it with marco a long long time ago. I'm not Vicky, but I can manage if you or any other artist are available to draw right now.
And most of all I'm not a colorist on oc. :D Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on January 01, 2008, 19:56 OPUS
That's very good! And shows unusual coloring technique, to paint a bigger area first, then erase unnecessary parts from outside. Looks weird but works. :) And the lines (i.e. the sketch) are very accurate and impressive. /me start thinking about "OpenCanvas Library" section for LTS. ;) Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: OPUS on January 01, 2008, 20:47 That wouldn't be a bad idea , Serge. :)
And about the coloring technique, well, I`m lost with open canvas here.. Vicky ... Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: OPUS on January 01, 2008, 23:54 A session I had with Laguna a few minutes ago. it is long , but we didnt spent all the time drawing. we had bathroom breaks you know. :) and lunch too
Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: laguna sky on January 02, 2008, 00:41 As a little note to everyone, the wolf I drew is Rem, the only sister wolf in my story.
Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on January 04, 2008, 16:46 OPUS
laguna sky Just watched it :) Not sure it played fully here, it ended on the "An older version of her" moment. But what I saw, was interesting. Laguna, you should give construction method a try. I know I said it before, and it's not fair to compare your and Omar's skills, but this session gives an impression that construction method allows you to draw much faster than regular one, and even if you do a proportion mistake, it's not as noticeable as with "regular drawing". Your wolf was impressive too, nevertheless. To Omar: great sketches, what else to say. :) Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: laguna sky on January 04, 2008, 17:12 I do work with construction lines sometimes Serge, but with the tablet it is just too difficult. Anyway, it did end a bit abruptly, but that is because we didnt want to make the file too large.
hehe Time Furby to the Future!!!! Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on March 19, 2008, 22:03 A short OpenCanvas session Marco and me had today. Lisa pics mostly.
Of course while I was drawing one picture, Marco did three... :p My lines are black (or gray), Marco's are blue. This is probably our first sketches after a long break, so don't judge harshly... :) Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Andreas on March 19, 2008, 23:14 Of course while I was drawing one picture, Marco did three... :p Well, that's not exactly true. You finished your drawing at about the same time when Marco finished his first sketch. Then you sat down and watched in amazement how Marco did two more of his marvelous pics - as I did when playing the OC file. :) Truly amazing, Marco, and Lisa looked so beautiful (and cute Lisa, too, Serge - the Spoiler (Highlight to Read) comb thingy was too funny!Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on March 21, 2008, 23:33 Thanks Andreas :) Yes, you're right - but after drawing my Lisa, my hand started aching so much so I was physically unable to draw more with tablet. It's so much easier to draw on paper, with pencil...
Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: OPUS on May 15, 2008, 18:42 2 OC session with only me as the artist. *CRIES* no one seems to be around when I'm free to draw. These two are old , but I was wondering if it was ok to post them here.
The first one is ok for everyone to watch. the second one has something that could be a little too much. That was not my intention . Man I was bored and my dad told me to draw those things that move after you finish , because he does not know how to call the software. :) Gaby also implored me to post them on LTS and she finally convinced me. She will probably post some of her art here soon, I will try to make her do that. ;) ok, here they are: Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: SimpReal on May 24, 2008, 20:59 I'm sorry Omar, but the little times you're online and available for OC i'm always not feeling up to it... :o Still i like that you share with us your works. These ones are as always iteresting to look at, because it's always nice to see the security and even grace you build your characters with. YOu're quite great at giving the ladies a very attractive figure, but you're also very good at drawing everything that comes to mind (i.e. that dog in the "he bit me" sketch. Cute :) ).
Next time i'll try to be more available! Title: Re: OC Sessions Post by: Dagdamor on May 24, 2008, 23:51 OPUS
The first session was impressive as a result, but too fast to watch it properly :( I wouldn't be surprized if that was the real drawing speed though, heh. The second one is great! It was playing smoothly here, so I could see it from the scratch :) Aww @ bitten Maggie, the dog looks okay although its jaw looks a bit weird - both to Simpsons and realistic style merits. The girl behind the dog looks... hot I must say. My only nitpick is the absence of neck. Impressive sessions! |
