Title: Opus' sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 05, 2007, 09:13 Hey, since I'm going to be posting art more frequently, I've decided on making this thread. I hope to have hands left for the simpsons for a long, long time.
This is the first one: Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Dagdamor on October 05, 2007, 11:57 OPUS
Aww @ Lisa, LOL @ Selma. :D For some reason I liked the sketch with Lisa with her eyes closed... there is something in it, something I can't explain. I can only say that you did a good job with it. Freezing Maggie is also an interesting moment. Well, those are sketches, so I can't say too much about them, but I look forward for more! They look very professional, I wonder if you're open for some doodle requests. :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: SimpReal on October 05, 2007, 12:57 Looking professional as always, i wish i had your freedom of mind to just doodle like that. and your hand is impressively steady. Please do more of these :)
My fav is Maggie Freezing as well, but props to Selma! Looks like there's a story behind that pic. Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 06, 2007, 04:22 @Serge: Of course I'm open for doodle request. What is it that you have in mind? Please pm it to me. :)
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Maggiecute on October 06, 2007, 09:54 Awwww! Nice art OPUS, you have such a lovely style, poor Maggie. But why is Lisa looking so sad?
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: brakusaetsya on October 06, 2007, 18:50 OPUS
Awww.... Awesome little feet and hands, even separated it looks so childish and sweet! Nice work with all characters, faces are so expressive, I just don't get Bart's one, he is looking weird :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 11, 2007, 07:35 @Dagdamor. I knew you were going to fall in love with that Lisa, and that freezing maggie also. Thanks for your kind words
@Simpreal. Yeah, that Selma's pic has a background. Shew finally losses some weight, and tries to look prettier, but she is just being dumped again. How sad! @maggie cute. Maggie is looking sad because she is far away from home and its freezing in Toronto, where she is taking her masters in literature. @Brakisaetsya. Bart is suppose to be a little frankeinstein, b ut something went wrong with the machine and a funny version of the monster came out. One that cannot even walk staight. lol Thanks for the replies , guys! Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 11, 2007, 19:03 @Dagdamor. This sketches are excellent very expressive as the others have said. Now you have explained some of the background to them too they really come to life.
I wiah i could draw hands and feet like that lol, I always tend to have a bit of trouble with them. But looking at some guides hopefully i can get the technique right one day :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 13, 2007, 05:48 Some old sketches I did a long time ago. How long has it been , two years. Whew, time flies1 I know some of you guys have seen them , but I know there is a lot of new members that never where on GFC. I'll put new scribbles as soon as I'm less busy on comission and everything. Dont be so hard on them , those are old pieces. :)
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 13, 2007, 07:03 Some more old pics to bring back memories for those who have seen them, and to see for those who have not. Again, don't be so hard on them they are not that, well, up to date, and some not even finished, but maybe I will color them if time is on my side. I will use the christmas one for December's calendar this year, and the Bart-Gina one for November's. As for October, I'll have a big surprise, but I don't want to make it too bloody. ;)
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Black_raven on October 13, 2007, 10:31 These did indeed bring back memories :p but its good looking back on them :)
Some very nice pics there, I can't possibly choose a fav though X( I recognize the ones based of yellow Mile even though I've never read it :gigi: You're a very good artist Omar :D Your work never ceases to impress me :p Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Dagdamor on October 21, 2007, 07:48 OPUS
I remember most of the drawings you posted in these two packs, but some of them were new to me nevertheless. :) Nice job. All your sketches show how professional its author is, and you're very good in expressing different kind of emotions. Well, who needs you if you can only draw a little bit sad winged Lisa and nothing else :D this is not about you of course. Nice pictures! Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: CargoOfDarkness on October 21, 2007, 09:38 Yeah, I remember those scetches, really like them, especially the maggie in dress on the last one. It is something unusual. Also your styl of drawing Simpsons. I really get into this. It´s a pity I never read any of those Simpsons fanscripts, but they are in English and even if I can read english very well it is still difficult. mmmh...
Anyway, I hope to see lots of lots of more stuff coming... ;) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Gustavo on October 21, 2007, 19:47 Wow ...
Beginning to remember ... Do I am too old? Or time flies :star: My favorite is "spores" ... memories.... beatiful sketchs .... as usual .. i can't find words :) ________________________________ nota para Omar: bonitos trabajos sin embargo estuve buscando en SR uno que quedo grabado en mi memoria (y que no pude encontrar)...era un dibujo coloreado de Gina y Bart en un riachuelo bart tenia una bonita flor en la mano habia hierba en ambos lados y la luz de la mañna se filtraba en la escena muy sitilmente ....¿lo tienes en tu computadora? sería muy lindo verlo nuevamente :) ________________________ Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on October 22, 2007, 08:11 This is all I have. I'm afraid I lost the big version, sorry Gustavo.
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Gustavo on October 22, 2007, 18:49 Thanks Opus... is a beatiful pic.... :)
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Syke on October 23, 2007, 14:55 Wow... You are far too good at this ^^. Your style is the most accurate I have seen to date, not far short of Groening himself, bravo ^^.
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: brakusaetsya on October 23, 2007, 15:09 OPUS
Hey, I've never seen that and I'm very impressed :) I like especially "Maggie hiking" and "Pony ride", but all the pics are very good. It seems that you can show very well an atmosphere of nature, country look, remindind farms, pilgrims, and time when civilization wasn't so well developed. Old school :D Something reminding of past times, something mysterious. And also you're brilliant at depicting sad faces. Negative emotions are very believable on faces of your heroines. Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on January 10, 2008, 18:11 Oh well, the first one of the year. I haven't been so free even while out of school, time at work has incresed and hopefully I will go back to my 5 hrs a day, or I don't know what a heck I'm going to do. My mind is about to blow from so much, and drawing is keeping my mind at ease, enough for sanity. Drawing stick figures and figure drawing is not as gratifiying as drawing something furry or simpsonic, at least not for me.
On top of everything, I believe my asthma attacks or something is coming back, because I haven't feel very well the last couple of days. I hope that is just exhaustion. Other than that here is something I did today before leaving for work..... Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Jimmy on January 10, 2008, 19:14 Aww those are really really cute. Everything just looks so soft, The wings have just the right amount of detail, and Lisa's face is the cutest thing ever. Lovely image Opus. Hope your recent troubles go away soon :)
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Dagdamor on January 10, 2008, 21:43 OPUS
Hey, you need a vacations with the schedule like that. :/ About the sketches - awww! (Well, what else to say. ;)) Lisa can easily hug without even using her hands. She's looking nice and calm, and you did a VERY good job with following her canonic proportions, which I appreciate! Nice drawings, but please don't overstress yourself. :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Syke on January 11, 2008, 15:36 Well, needless to say, Lisa looks unbelievabley cute in these pictures, Il be honest, I love the sketchy one more than the line art, theres something about seeing everything you did to get to the finished thing that makes me happy ^^. If I didnt know any better, you actually work on the comics and the cartoon. Either way, take a break friend ^^ dont over-encumber yourself. I hope your feeling better soon ^^.
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on January 21, 2008, 06:51 Just trying to figure it out. I mean, does she looks like 14 yrs old?
Work in Progress: (http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q66/OPUS0987/Molly_Cunnigham_work_in_progress.jpg) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Syke on January 21, 2008, 13:03 She looks about 14 to me dude. Not sure she would be dressed like this, bit too revealing for a 14 year old. Still, she is looking unbelievabley sweet. Very nice work. ^U^
~Syke Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on January 21, 2008, 21:23 The colored version:
(http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q66/OPUS0987/molly.jpg) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: SimpReal on January 21, 2008, 21:38 It's a really good job indeed, she looks just a tad older than 14, and either she just came back from the beach or she has a pretty interesting dress code! :D Anyway, the figure and sketch are awesome as always, very toony, natural and pleasing to the eye. The soft coloring is well done, a bit blotchy maybe in some parts like her jeans where a bit more definition of the shadows would have helped.
Besides, being yellow, she's always welcome at this forum section ;p Just joking. Goood work! Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Dagdamor on January 23, 2008, 13:41 OPUS
Nice one! Despite all my unconcern about furry-art, your Molly looks... attractive I must say :) especially the colored version. I believe that was intentional, unless I became a complete pervert. Like her expression, very sweet smile, the pose overall looks great too. She looks very skinny though, especially below her waist. A wrong diet maybe? ;) Great job with clothing, colors and shading. Me likes! Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Shadow Nait on January 23, 2008, 18:02 OPUS
God, how meagre she is now! :o (please, don't be disappointed with this phrase) After all good side of this drawing I want to mark especially the work with her jeans, it looks very realistic, my praises. The... face is kinda too cartoonish for me :) and what about her left (to us) eye? It looks too shrinked in horizontal dimension don't you think? After all this is a nice example of skills of you both with pencil and photoshop. :p Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on January 24, 2008, 05:36 Yggdrasill
I neve used a pencil for this. It as all done on my wacom, and yes, I know it looks meagre; in both terms, She does look skinny and the quality of the art has a lot to desire. If only you knew what kind of interest and time I put into this you'll know why. :) Anyway, thanks for telling your opining about the eye and the general appearence. It did look crappy for me in the beginning, and knowing that you expect better art coming from me, I do apologize. I'll show you something that you'll love; eventually, just wait until I get some bussiness done over here. ;) Dagdamor Thanks about your answer, from everyone, you were the last person I expected to reply to the pic. The fact that you are not an antro Lover. :gigi: And yes she does looks skinny as heck, but I'm tired of always drawing super nice bodies on my femmes because that will make them look monotonous. By the way would you like a Lisa pic looking extremelly fat for a change? I wonder how she will look in a non-cannonic style... ;) SimpReal I think those colors I used really aged her up. :) Ooops.. And I was just wondering If I draw all my antro art yellow. could we name this forum the Lisa-Molly Lovers Or the Simpson-Higher for Higher Lovers? :p Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on February 04, 2008, 07:38 :p

Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Dagdamor on February 04, 2008, 15:26 Re: :p
Nice sketches! I don't have much to say about them (except that they are well done though still have a "sign" of your personal Maggie style), my favorite is the middle one. *tries to hug, crumples the paper* EDIT: Oops, missed one more attachment... comment goes soon ;) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: brakusaetsya on February 04, 2008, 15:58 OPUS
Third one, scaryness is the best one, she doesn't look scary, but her face expression is very adorable. And oh boy, I like to watch oc-events, so amazingly entertaining. As for me, something wrong with Lisa's fingers and her pose looks like she's gonna fall on her back, but it's awesome, how could you draw her so clean and right. Your previous work with Lisa, with bid wings is also very, very adorable. And I always wanted to ask - I saw your session with laguna_sky and you've drawn Gadget Hackwrench so believably. Did you use canonic images for reference or just took her from your own mind? In any case, you're a great artist, Opus, keep making me happy with your art :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on February 04, 2008, 16:15 Well, that's because she is about to fall on her back. ;) To much impression was caused from what is front of her that she could not help it.
About the hands: I wanted them to look stubbier than usual and yes they look kinda weird. :red: Thanks for the coments, Serge and Brakusaetsya. ;) Brakusaetsya I dont use references anymore since around two years ago . Lucky me! I have those models on my mind. :gigi: Gadget was one of the first cartoons I ever drew. Did I ever mention that I'm an antro artist not a simpson one, but I love simpsons anyway. Its unbelieveble, its been around four years doing simpsons, if not more, and I'm still far from where I want to be :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Dagdamor on February 06, 2008, 21:22 OPUS
Just watched it, the OC session is sweet too. :) I wish I could draw as easily! Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Gustavo on February 06, 2008, 23:41 Lisw.wpe
hmmmm A good drawing, a little lacking in strength and simple but very pretty :lisa:... Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on February 07, 2008, 00:44 Thanks again, Serge. Considering that I thought about not posting it at all because of the simplicity and roughness. Now, I'm happy I did. Gustavo, yes sometimes something so simple is nice to see. I'm just so happy that this is one of them. Thanks to you too, bro. America rules! Considering that both,
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Gustavo on February 07, 2008, 00:47 Thanks to you too, bro. America rules! Considering that both, Peru and Mexico are part of the America continent. :D yeah yeah.... but I live in Chile :/ ... is good option is says: Chile and Mexico are part of the continent.... :) Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: Vicky on February 11, 2008, 23:41 Omar, I love your art. It was the reason why I started drawing the simpsons way back in 2005, did I ever tell you that? =] Please keep posting it!
Title: Re: Opus's sketch dump Post by: OPUS on March 24, 2008, 21:21 Thanks a lot guys for your comments.
Vicky, is that for real? Was I the one who made you drew simpsons? Who knew? I was back then only starting with simpsons back too, and to think of it, back then I was with that "yellow mile" thing that never came out the way I expected brings back lots of memories. I can still remember that Gina pic you like from my collection and then you colored it marvelously. You are way better than me with colors and believe me, I wasn't going to be able to give it such a result. :) I'm more of a penciler, and a cell shader. Painter, well, I'm heading that way on characters. :) Always trying something new, I did this yellow mile promotion sketch to see if that motivated me to continue doing from that story, which I loved. I think it came out less appealing than I wanted it to be, but what a heck, what is practice for? :) I remember how Maggie was able "so to speak" to deal with her big mental trauma from those stupid bastards who ruined her life that day. From feeling that myself, this came out: Enjoy! Deep and conceptual ctriticism is highly encourage. Please note that it has a lot of errors as of design and proportion , but I didn't mind that while drawing it. I was focusing on concept, and feeling. Thanks a lot guys in advance! May "Lisa the simpson forum" live forever!
