Many of the Simpsons pics stored on my hard drive aren't related to any of possible categories. There are some really interesting ones among them... I'm not sure, maybe you have seen them already, maybe not. Anyway, here is a first little pack. :) Unfortunately, I can't say who drew them or where is was originally released - all I have are those files.

Lol!! These ones look rather fantastic and full of funny details. Love Maggie in the first one, and Lisa looks especally cute too :P

I'm afraid i don't have anythingto add into this thread right now but whenever i'll come up with something, be sure i'll show it over here :cool:

I liked "Full House"... :( Just kidding. These are amazing! You draw things so realistically! And the 3rd one is wonderful, I know I've seen a style like that before, but where? I think they are just fantastic. A funny commentary on the show, too. Also, why didn't the animator tell them to take the hair of Charlie Brown, and put it on Homer? Have you ever looked at the 2 cartoons next to each other? Anyway, keep up the great work, Serge!

Good old Mad Magazine. I saw those on the Folder a while back.

Heh!   You've got to like the Mad Magazine pics, there are some great lines in there.   I've spotted Matt Groening, Julie, Yeardley, Dan and Nancy in there but I can't figure whether some of the crew are based on real OFF crewmembers?
I've seen a Mad Futurama parody somewhere which was also very funny (though not so tastefull!).

They where originaly, if I'm not mistaken from (or at least featured on) Simpsons Hollandise, or somthing like that. But I have no idea who the original owners are. Still great pictures for the season :)

If you want to make a good looking graph for free, I've no idea unless you can fine a crack legal copy of Autograph somewhere.
Pictures however, I aint got a bloody clue :D Unless its made using computer models...

A beautiful, enchanting reincarnation of Lisa into anime-creature! Well, though I don't like the anime at all but this work is very much pleasant to me. :) She looks so fragile and delicate in comparsion with the original. (I think Lisa is strong enough in body, cause her father is Homer :))
And such anime-accessories like bows, ribbons and ammm...gloves (?) with gems don't prevent me from enjoying this picrure. The hairdo is higher than any praises.
On the whole it is really skilled work, I like it very much.

Dagdamor, CargoOfDarkness or someone else... Could you lay out those works here? I'm so intrigued. :)

This is Eric, the fourth Simpsons kid. He features in s Simpsons spin-off series called 'Maggie and Eric' by Jake Lennington. It is set 12 years after OFF.

I wouldnt say its '"that" unusual...

I guess most of us know well about Eric :) As unusual... i guess the perspective is quite original for this one.

The RS_Monkey one is impressive for the hair, that's some job getting a believeable version of Lisa's show-style hair.
Just to add to the eye colour debate, when Homer had his terrifying vision of his kids with "pink skin, five fingers on each hand and no overbites" (or words to that effect), didn't the kids have blue eyes?

Personally, for Anime-Lisa i'd go for a less dragon-ball esque looking hair, but i love the big eyes and the cute mouth that keeps that overbite particularity of Simpsonian memory. The sax is very detailed... this girl has lots of talent :)

I personally wasn't so much impressed with that last drawing - imho, it's just a stylized drawing of a real man, with Sideshow Bob's haircut added to the top... but some of her pictures are really impressive, we should be proud she draws Simpsons-related stuff. I think so.

Spacecoyote draws much Simpsons picture and I would looking forward to see her here around... BUT, I guess we never will, I read that she isn´t an really active internet surver, means, she uploads her pictures often and leaves. And she also say she rarely response to commends.

Talent deserves to be admired. And truely, nobody can feel bad. Some of you have really problem with selfconfident. Just because it *looks* so good what another artist draw, doesn´t mean this IS BETTER than your art, or you COULD NOT DO BETTER or EQUAL...

I'm with Frank and Marco on this one, she really did get the essence of Bob's character.   If you look closely at the shape of the face, the nose and the mouth, it really does resemble the show version of Bob.

Her drawings is very impressive. Especially the ones with all Simpsons and Futurama characters. Simply appallingly. :eek: The picture with Lisa holding her sax, looks perfectly too, though I'm not in all that anime and manga stuff. It is just very-very good alternative image of Lisa for me. Sax drawn so detailed and resembling to a real one that makes me to scratch a nape in thoughtfulness... :) And as for Sideshow Bob. It's just a professional work nothing to say more... The way we all shall be able to draw someday. :p 
Well, I think it's not a sizeable reason to fall in depression since you have seen such works. (much agree with CargoOfDarkness)
By the way it might be a really good idea to try to invite her to LTS.

I've found some strange ones (funny still) while surfing the net the past few weeks and I'll try to dig 'em up sometime.

Orochimaru (right) is the sannin of the Hidden Sound Village, and former Akatsuki member. He has the power of snakes and overall is a pretty creepy dude.

Kabuto (left) is Orochimaru's right hand man and is pretty annoying. (especially in the Uzumaki Chronicles for PS2) He doesn't really have many jutsus that have been seen in the series, but he's failed the Chûnin exams a couple different times. X3

Oh that's very cool!   It's interesting that they picked the season 1 intro and not the later version.   It works pretty well given the usual challenge of designing the characters in 3D.   

How much does that clip weigh?

Mini bump time. Thanks to my effortless attempts to sooth the ever grinding engine that is my brain in the late hours of the night, I happened to come upon a date in a particular comic strip that caught my interest. D.C. Simpson, the Creator of "Ozy and Millie", does a webcomic and is featured in many fine newpapers (proof that persistence pays off) in this particular strip he has taken the day off and let it go to a fine guest artist. The Guest artist did a nice little bit involving our favorite family.

I give you "Ozy and Millie" "Guest spot 2, ozy and Millie watch the Simpsons."

Mind you that D.C. Simpson, the actual artist is imho a far better artist.

But it has happened on the show, for both Homer and Bart, Bart more often though (Marge in Chains for example). That looks like it was from an issue of Simpsons Comics US.

Maggie is the only one that fits.

Well, that's a bit harsh Serge.. i know Lisa is almost perfect in your book, but Homer is her dad and he showed many times he loves her. Always remember what he will say in "Lisa's Wedding". :)

About the pictures: "Full Frontal" simpsons is truly hard to make look right. It's always interesting to see succesful ways that's been done.. i think it makes her smile look especially sweet. :)

Full frontals are indeed the hardest angle to draw, by far. Even the animators for the episodes have a hard time, judging from these screenshots from one of the latest episodes. There are, however, some artists over the years that have been able to draw some of the Simpsons characters perfectly in just that angle.

Not so hard you know... ;) There's so much frontal-looking Simpsons pictures and scenes out of here. But that "weird" view you've cited here I think is the best way for animators to show the main idea - all Simpsons is quite similar to real people. And besides that "cute-looking" side views with upper lip stick out far forward there's not so pleasant views. When they look straight at you. Lisa can even scare you sometimes with such face ! :D

Ahem... I've just realized that that Space Coyote picture, with Animized Simpsons characters, isn't really original, it's a remake from the existing Simpsons poster, at least the layout is exactly the same here and there...

I'm not the world's biggest manga fan but there's no doubt that's impressive stuff, I like the dialogue as much as the art.

Anyway, on a different note, a while back, Laguna posted that Ozy and Millie OFF themed guest artist strip.   I've since then, really got to like Ozy and Millie, basically because it's fantastic - sweet, moving, intelligent and very funny.   Anyway, I was browsing through the archives and came across one of the very early strips - a Halloween themed one.   You might recognise one of the costumes.  :lisa:

Cute! It also makes me chuckle... so many times I've seen Lisa wearing animal ears, and now someone with animal ears decided to wear Lisa's hairstyle instead, to look like her, and the result looks pretty much the same in both cases. :D
I'm also glad to see that the comics' author has mentioned Lisa another time in his art. Keeping in mind his words about Liser in the previous issue, he likes our favorite Simpsons character too. Maybe he will appear here someday? Anyway, very nice comic there!

P.S. It's still easy to guess who's hiding under the cloak. Because of the tail sticking out of it. ;)

These are all rather odd... the first one especially, something just looks very wrong about Homer's head :eek: Out of proportion, you could say. The second one looks probably the most realistic I'd say, even if Lisa does look pretty cute in the third one. *Lol* at the fourth, and the fifth is not bad at all... although I would think that Burns's nose would be a bit bigger.

Actually, I think that picture was from a THOH comic. I'm pretty sure I saw it there before.

Interesting find! Zoidberg perfectly fits the role of Davy Jones :D Although Homer a bit strange, he looks like Turk or Arab, I mean, this hat makes him look weird, but still very interesting.

Then, I like the pictures finded by Maggiecute, the first two to be exact. They have great style so unusual and fresh to see. I'm astonished and impressed with second one, its very original, and Bart excels as always. :D (why his hairstyle looks more similar to Lisa' than her own?)

Hmmm, yeah, that's different all right! :eek:   Looks like a cross between a mediaeval (or Pre-Raphaelite?) painting and some sort of drug-crazed psychedelic nightmare.   I'm assuming this is Lisa keeping Bart in a drug-induced stupor judging by the size of his pupils and that pile of syringes on the floor (hey, at least she's not re-using needles... :D).   Presumably Kang, Kodos and that Medusa-headed Selma(?) are products of Bart's drugged imagination.   It's pretty sinister, I'm not sure I like the atmosphere of this.   Interesting find though, I've never seen anything quite like it before in the realms of OFF art.

Your pic's style reminds me of some one cartoon... "Powerpuff Girls", if I remember it correctly. At the same time, it has some resemblance with the South Park, and of course Anime. Despite all that horror, I like the picture, it characterizes Lisa very well. :)

P.S. This picture cries for remake/retrace :( it definitely was saved as JPEG with low quality, converted to GIF afterwards (killing all the gradients) and then re-converted back to JPEG, adding new artifacts and making existing ones look even worse. I wonder why people do that to good pictures...

That buxom Lisa kinda disturb me a little since again I see the adult treatment to her (even when I drew her naked I did not put in it any erotics...)... nevertheless I like this one, it's even funny how her present outfit clashes with her neo-feministic beliefs not to allow the people treat the woman as a fetish and nothing else. Nice piece of art, though questionable in the light of fan's protective attitude.
And the car_simpsons can scare me to death with only their faces not with the other parts of their bodies. :D

I didn't like this picture, it looks like a pure fanservice to me, but that's not even the reason... the reason is, the artist drew Lisa 8 year old (judging on the body proportions), but for some reason added forms. :/ That combination looks like eww... sorry, not my cup of tea :) Technically, it's very good though, nice shading.

I must say that I can't pay so much disappointment to this as you because only of one thing - and that one you've mentioned. I don't see, don't believe, that artist has painted her in the 8-ght years condition. That's just illogically - how she can have such breasts and other... parts? This parody (exactly parody not a seriuos work of course) looks ok for me because of that conclusion, though I can't say definitely that author hasn't showed her in the that very tender age we used to knew her... And, of course, her original song, a song of a little girl, not an professional jazz actress she showed here - cause even more uncertainty and confusion, because that's the most true and innocent song for use in such situation. I myself would choose  another song definitely for this scene.

There are various ways of looking at it, for example, that maybe it's set in the future, or something, and she happens to continue wearing the same orange dress. :P

This is how older Lisa should look like (see the attachment; sorry for the crappy quality, I don't have this episode in bigger resolution). There is a simple rule: if the head is noticeably smaller than the torso, it's a teen/grownup. If they are about the same size, we see a kid. The bigger the head comparing to the body, the younger the character is. On the picture ALM posted, they are about the same size, so Lisa is 8-10 at most and of course shouldn't have any adult attributes. :/ There are other hints as well - big overbite, short and thick limbs etc.

I don't know the proper definition. To me, fanservice is when you modify the character so it becomes more attractive to the fans. If this applies only to sexual attraction, winged Lisa is not a fanservice. If this applies to any kind of changes (wings, guns, furries etc) - it is.

Really, any kind of fan art could fit into the definition of fan service (I've always preferred fan works :P). When you think about it on a wider scale, you're modifying a character into new locales, situations, ages or personalities etc... in almost any picture.

And its one of the things I like about fan art.

I don't understand why "fanservice" is such a problem with some people, because really, anything drawn outside of the show is some kind of "fanservice" one way or another. The way I always thought of "fanservice" was that it was some kind of dedication to one particular person. As in, if the picture was drawn specifically for someone and there is an indicator at that. For example, Gustavo's pictures that he draws for nearly everyone's birthday are what I consider to be fanservice. Any other kind of pictures don't fit that category for me.

As for the big head I can say - that also has shown ALM - her head will always be huge in comparison with her torso (remember the quote of gym-trainer with some polish surname concernin' her head in series "Little girl in the Big Ten"? ;) ) And in the two episodes of three "official future episodes" she has quite big head (and a very small height - somethin about 5ft ... 5'5 ft - except the one you have chosen the frame from :) ). It's just a generalization of authors - the smarter personage is - the bigger brain it has and a subtile body instead. I don't want to say it very nice to me but at least and with such representation of her we can get on.

I guess if you take it's broadest definition then fanservice would apply to any sort of fanart/fanfic and indeed any "official" output designed to please the fans.   However, the word fanservice predominantly seems to be used in reference to the "erotic" side of things, which is why people have a problem with it.

Fanservice is another word born with anime and, as such, demonized. To be considered "true", every anime had to include at least a couple of panty shots, wardrobe malfunctions, or shower/bath scenes now and then.  t's been in anime since the dawn of time, and it'll always be. In most of cases they were just as the word says, a service for the fans, maybe used as a tool to keep guys watching where plots became too thin and production values werent so high. In some recent animes, the fanservice became such a major point in the plot to be considered "ecchi" animes (basically, "dirty" animes). In some other cases, since anime has never completely ignored the sexuality of its characters, "fanservicey" scenes could be a way to add depth to the character to see the sometimes original and or meaningful reactions. I don't think that fanservice as i just described has ever taken hold on Western animation.

All this long premise to say that i dont consider that lisa pic as "fanservice". I consider it a pretty sexy-alluring pic of a undoubtedly grown up lisa (unless she can develop all of a sudden those forms at 8 years. Nah. Wings at most :p ). No hidden meanings, no psychological involvements, and most of all no degrading intent on Lisa's figure. I did it, Gustavo did it, i think a lot of artists sooner or later do it (rendering their liked character in an adult way). Imho it's not to be offended about.

And about Lisa not wanting to be portraied in such a matter... who knows? Only she could tell us. :)

P.S. I like the picture very much, technically it's a beaut and subject speaking... she's gorgeous. :) Even if it's "only" fanart.

And I have to admit that I agree with GeorgeHarrison's comment about "fanservice". It's probably right that the word mainly describes the "erotic" side of stuff like this, but I cannot understand why drawing an erotic picture of a toon character is so much "worse" than any other kind of fan art. I wouldn't go as far as LisaSimpsonLover recently, but isn't sensuality one of the most basic human feelings? Personally, I'd take such an approach as a sign of affection, which is just as valid as a "cute" pic, like Gustavo's birthday presents. I'm not here to judge about the pic in question, but it just strikes me odd that some people go all wary instantly whenever there is the slightest trace of eroticism involved.

Probably because a lot of it is sleazy as hell.   If it's tastefully done, fair enough but given the nature of the internet, it often isn't - so it's not so much a case of people being wary about it, more a case of people being fed up with it.
Personally speaking, given the pose and set-up of this particular pic, I'd say it falls more into the sleaze category.

I think this picture is pretty good, I like the psychedelic background... combining two things so different may be a wild experiment, but worth taking the time to do, simply to view the incredibly odd results. And it does make for an unusual Simpsons picture :)

It's strange coincindence - not so long ago Zorn was mentioned in one of Groening's interviews, and that's how I discovered his music just looking for more simpsons-related information :eek:

Picture is weird. Really weird. Spikes and necklace aren't matching him. But both Lisa and John Zorn are gifted, and there is something interesting in this combination. But this blue cloth and necklace... Eww. Nice idea, but realization isn't perfect.

When I said that any person can be "Lisa" I mean not this :D You can meet the person who is similar to her with much of its temper's features, but I doubt that there's a girl who is similar to Lisa within every side, even with her unusual hairdo or necklace of giant pearls.

The connection Lisa-Zorn is perfect in a spiritual-musical sense, but the outcomes in art and looks are quite terrifying :p I wish the author would have kept it at the first stage ;) Props for trying though, and interesting motive and pattern to the whole picture.

My favurate self insertion pictures are from Leeloo (http://realities.simpworks.com/gallery/lel) from SR. :) She did many self insertion ones which wernt so... intimate. But, its mostly guys who draw themselves in the art, like me and Ekko. Fortunatly we never went THAT far... Mainly just shooting each other.  :o

Sorry this is off topic...maybe it can be put into another thread?...but I myself used to draw myself besides The Simpsons in art but I never uploaded them cos I just didn't feel anyone would like them or take interests..was just during my simpson obsession peak..looking back on them though they were pretty rubbish and didn't make much sense so I threw them away, nice to see some other artists have pulled it off though :) I might try again one day however I only draw myself Simpson style now with other people I know in real life Simpsonized too be it Mat or my friends...

Well, this might be a bit off-topic now indeed, but (even if it isn't the case with said pics) I don't mind an artist doing the "self insertion" thingy. After all, there's something called "artistic license", so if the artist feels that he/she wants to do it that way, then so it be, even if the result turns out to be a bit kinky now and then. ;)

Leeloo is an exception. And a very good exception, aside from that, I didn't see too much self-insertion pics. (Sorry Cargo... I know you did a certain amount of them, but I'm talking about different cases.) I don't like when artists bring themselves to the picture just to show their fantasies to the others, regardless to the character's own "will" (i.e. characterization). If you manage to make a good believable reason to exist in that pic - good! Otherwise, to use an independent, fictional character instead would be better IMHO. :)

I like looking at peoples dreams, it just opens the imagination a bit more. Its not very good when your looking at something you disagree with, like if somebody drew her doing something out of character for the sake of the author. But it would be good say, if you Serge, drew yourself hugging her. I wouldnt mind that. :)

(I personaly just think its a bit, cruel in some cases to use the word 'fantasy'. A fantasy is a some what uncontrollable urge, where as a dream is a moderated desire.)

Aww... but I would never dare to draw myself hugging Lisa! This is probably harmless (I can even imagine that Lisa would like it, I would love to think so), but it's still too direct to me. Why would Lisa hug a complete stranger? I'd choose something different, for example to draw Bart hugging Lisa and imagine myself being on his place. :p But damn, you've tempted me a lot... maybe I'll reconsider my views eventually...

Well, from a "technical" point of view everyone of us would be a stranger to Lisa if he or she would show up in Springfield. But on the other hand, we know her since some twenty years now, and we know a lot about her and her life - does that really make us strangers? I mean, if it would be possible, we would have written a letter or an e-mail to her at least, wouldn't we? And even though penpals might not have met personally so far, they surely know each other, and might hug each other if they finally meet in person. :)

It makes us stalkers... :P

*LOL* If Lisa saw certain pictures and discussions on this forum - she'd yell that aloud for no doubt ;) LTS is not a saint place. But they are few, and if Lisa compared them with the amount of interesting discussions and beautiful drawings, if she understood how we treat her and that some of us even try to follow her, I believe she would change her opinion. It's still very possible that this forum would make her very embarrassed the first moment. Imagine yourself going online one day and discovering a whole forum where half of discussions are dedicated to *you*... oh horror :D But Lisa is strong, she'd understand it.

Oh, I've seen this picture before. For some reason every time someone draws a parody to the Simpsons style involving three or more characters, it becomes very popular in no time. This one was well done, all characters are easily recognizable. :)

yeah well drawn image, it kind of looks like the style of the manga simpsons picture by Spacecoyote, especially Marge and Homer. It can bee seen along with a futurama version on this page.

This isn't exactly an unusual simpsons picture, but it seemed to fit in better here than anywhere else - walking through the lab today, I spotted someone wearing a t-shirt with what can only be described as the Lisa equivalent to Mr Sparkle on it :D

Nearly all other pictures in that gallery look too childish/simple to me. I have enough of them already on ISFF. ;) Fanart that's done with care is the best.
